I was shocked. I walked out to my car. The woman putting firewood in her car experienced the same rudeness. Why? Can't believe someone like that would be greeting customers.

Prices are really affordable and the employees are courteous. It's pretty convenient, with pre-loaded, pre-priced cartloads of wood. You can get anything from a cartload of irregular chunks of wood for $15 up to a $35 cart of oak. Additionally you can purchase pallets of wood onsite or for delivery. My complaint is that a lot of the wood I've bought there lately is hissing and sputtering, taking a lot more time to get started, and not throwing much heat out. By contrast, a more expensive bundle of seasoned campfire wood bought anywhere else will be burning quicker and hotter in a fraction of the time. With that in mind, the savings and convenience of buying here are countered by the fact that a lot of the wood doesn't seem properly seasoned. Additionally, brief internet research indicates that wetter wood causes more rapid creosote buildup in the chimney or stovepipe, which can be a hazard over time.

We couldn't move ahead with that tree there unless we rerouted the fence. We talked about trying to chainsaw it up and move the pieces but it was intimidating to us amateurs because of its size and shape. A family member suggested a tree company but warned they were pretty busy this time of year and it would be spendy. The day we uncovered the tree I stayed up really late thinking about what to do. I hated delaying the fence project or having to relocate it. So I started researching Humboldt tree companies and noticed that Coastal Tree Service had very good reviews and lots of them. The next morning (Friday) I called first thing and Tommy called me back a few hours later. I emailed him some images which he reviewed while we were talking, and offered to come out that same day to take a look. In person Tommy was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly experienced. He took a look at the log/stump and explained how he would handle it (fallen log to person nearby who would use it for firewood + chipper for the rootball). I told him what I was willing to pay and he agreed he could manage that, and agreed to come out Tuesday. I could hardly believe he could do the job for a reasonable price and within just a few days. It looked like I'd be able to salvage my fence project. Tuesday rolled around and Tommy fit me in at the end of what was a very long day for him. I had to run an errand and when I returned Tommy had chipped the whole log and the root. He explained the log had been rotten so was useless as firewood. Also, as a bonus, he chipped the roots of the hedge we'd taken down. This was great because it created a plethora of wood chips to help level the uneven ground, and saved me from digging out what were essentially tree roots from where the hedge was. I feel like I got really lucky with Coastal Tree and Tommy. Great company, outstanding customer service, and Tommy is a heckuva nice guy, too. I cannot recommend this business enough.

When I need to do another tree job in a year, Coastal Tree Service will be my first call! Thank you!

I was confident they had the right equipment and expertise to handle the job for a fair price. The project involved removing about 30 trees, many of which were very close to my home, so I needed a company that would prioritize safety--and they absolutely delivered. The crew worked diligently, kept me informed throughout each stage, and left my property even cleaner than before they arrived. The entire project took four days, and I felt I received excellent value for the cost. Lovell Tree Service conducted themselves with professionalism and completed the work with outstanding quality. I have additional tree work planned and will not hesitate to hire them again. I highly recommend Lovell Tree Service.

They were able to get the job done within a few days of accepting the quote. They worked quickly and efficiently despite the 110 degree heat, finished the entire project within the estimated timeline and even managed to get a few trees trimmed up that had been in my 'Phase 2' (ie: next year).
