We had finished the saw work and had the brush piled just so, but then our chipper connection let us down. This is just as fire season is bearing down on us, and outdoor burning is suspended. We hear through the grapevine that Rich and his Crew were working just down the road - the Mattole Road. We TXT back and forth a bit, and 24 hours later we meet up at the jobsite. Rich Hanson has all the equipment and knowledge to tackle huge projects. He took down a very old dead tree that was unsafe to climb as well as trimmed the biggest Maple tree I have ever seen. Very affordable rates, and hard workers. They chipped all the branches and small limbs on site, created logs with the larger pieces and hauled them away. They have huge trucks, a bucket lift to deal with dead trees that can't be climbed on. It is amazing how much light comes into our back yard now. In the past I used MD tree service several times and they were great, however the owner is now having some serious health problems and the guy filling in seems overwhelmed trying to manage his own landscaping business and pick up this tree service. MD Tree service surpassed my expectations. I love my trees, but they were hanging over a neighbor's carport and house and so I reluctantly gathered a few estimates. The quotes were in range, but I went with MD because Rich has an obvious appreciation for the natural shape of trees. He was organized, on-time, and left the area cleaner than he found it. His crew even navigated a large chipper into a difficult spot as to put the chip pile where I asked. But most importantly he did wonders for my trees. He warned me that they would look different (they do), but they look even better than I imagined. After removing the large overhanging limbs, he artfully balanced out the trees, opening them up to allow more light. He has an artful eye and was selective. Now I can see just how beautiful they are.
