I went…read moreto see Calvin Johnson and was somewhat frustrated that I couldn't figure out how to get tickets in advance (in my mind, Calvin should be selling out stadiums). Everyone I asked about it kept saying, "It's very DYI." When I got there, I understood what they meant! It was so chill. It's very much like the old Modified space - no drinking, just listening to live music. You could either hang out in the performance area, or browse used records for hours. I did both - taking in some of the opening acts while also finding an old 12" of a band from Scotland that I like. It would have been great if there were a few more seats, but that's just because I'm old. I will definitely be keeping an eye on their calendar for future events to attend!

I have been to many convention centers over the years. Some have one large building. Some are…read morefar removed from local restaurants and entertainment. Others have minimal parking or ground transportation nearby. When it comes to the Phoenix Convention Center, it has all of this and more. It provides flexible event facilities, up-to-date technology, top notch hotel accommodations, and a location that is accessible by plane, train, and automobile. There are also many activities from sporting events, live music, performing arts, and dining options all within a short walk. I have attended and volunteered at national conferences hosted at the Phoenix Convention Center, visited the Food and Wedding Expos, geeked out at Fan Fusion, and most recently, the Tourney Town free event for the community as a part of the NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four hosted in Downtown Phoenix. The local arrangements committee did a fantastic job coordinating the map of their event, how to get around the building from the outside, how to get around the building from the inside, and the layout of the convention center in the first place. There are three buildings in the convention center (North, West, and South). The North and West Buildings are con​​nected in the lower level exhibit hall and via a sky bridge on the upper level. The combined space contains 2 large ballrooms, 81 meeting rooms and 502,500 sq. ft. of exhibit space. The stand-alone South Building contains 18 meeting rooms, a 28,000 sq. ft. ballroom and two exhibit halls equaling 82,000 sq. ft. All of the meeting rooms, exhibit halls and ballroom can combine to equal a large 143,400 sq. ft. event space. One of the worst experiences I've ever had. This company will extort you for exorbitant amounts of money: in my case $600, and in the case of a truly unlucky vendor $1300 without an endcap or electrical citing they were a "last minute" addition. attendees are charged $10, and essentially promised free food wherever they go. I can't speak on behalf of other vendors, but since I make a very specialty item, it took me 16 hours of work Monday through Friday just to pretend I had enough inventory for what I was promised. This event was sold to me as a foodie event, with 18,000 attendees. There was certainly not 18,000 people, and the attendees that arrived treated us less than Costco. The amount of money I spent to attend, in tandem with hiring someone given the expectation that it was supposed to be overwhelming, is outright cruel. I'm a small business, amongst other small businesses, that gave up a day at a farmers market where I would've made at least three times the amount of money I did wasting my Saturday and Sunday. To top it all off? My rep Tina Matteri when called on a Monday morning to discuss the event, hung up on me mid conversation. Did I curse? No. Did I accost her? No. Did I speak sternly, venting my frustrations with how I was extorted? Absolutely. Now she's so cowardly, she refuses to call me back. I let it be known that my husband is in litigation, and that my legal fees would be covered thus it would behoove her to call me back. Still have heard nothing. Stay as far away from this event as humanly possible. One of the worst experiences I've had to date since opening as a small business. Save your money, time and effort.

It was the actors who did an excellent job! They served as greeters, host, cocktail servers and entertained! It's not a large venue which means every seat has a great view. We received a different cocktail between each scene that correlated with the next featured killer. They were quite generous pours! Overall a great time was had by our group of 6!

There is a lovely garden area outside for events and a kid's city park next door keeping with the farm cattle theme that the mansion once was. They are not open all the time but have an event schedule on the website. My friend is the creator of the Vintage Society so we had a garden party here yesterday and it was so, so, so lovely. If you can get to an event here it is wonderful. Check it out. I hear the holidays are really spectacular. Fair note, most of the mansion has been renovated and has non original, but still period era appropriate, pieces. However, there are still original pieces and the stain glass windows are original to the house. No public bathrooms only port a potty if you need to know that. All of the staff that we met were outstanding. I am not sure if the tours are given by Docents, volunteers, or paid staff but they were all so lovely, knowledgable, kind, and very helpful. I would go back here to an event in a minute. If you are looking for a unique venue space for a smaller maybe under 100 outdoor party this just might fit your bill. We had about 80 and it was perfect, with plenty of rooms for tables and high tops, a food buffet and even musicians.

It was so fun and such a memorable experience. 100% recommend taking your kids to get autos, run around for pop flies and just enjoy the vibes. I wish I came here as a kid. If your thinking its going to be hot, just plan ahead with the weather and also book evening games. Scottsdale Stadium feels historic and just feels right! It felt like a true mini Giants stadium with merch stands, Giants decor, this is due to this being one of the very few stadiums that's not shared. Plenty of concessions with a variety of types of food too. The slope of grass in the back has a bunch of families set up with blankets to enjoy the game too. Overall easy to navigate!! Food was not too bad here too! They have some long hot dogs that a lot of people were getting. We got some island noodles that was okay, it was supposed to be soba noodles but it was basically just chicken chow mein. A tip for the stadium is that they have free refill stations so you can bring an empty water bottle to fill up!
