I strongly do not recommend booking this venue and if you booked it find out if you can There's an issue with the facility manager Brie as well as her director Susan. Brie was hot and cold and strongly offensive and condescending. She kept saying she was cool and had customer service skills but her boss Susan didn't care if anyone is happy and watches the cameras. She said Susan gets mad about everything but Brie watched the cameras all night and single handily ruined my sons wedding. She made racist comments, told the bride her nephew almost drowned, another child kicked a cactus and kids were running around playing. All children were alive and accounted for there was no child wearing steel toed boots or wet. She did seem to be consistent with one thing that this wasn't coming from her it was all being directed by her horrible boss who was watching us through the cameras and was going to fire her. The ceremony was supposed to start at 4 pm however Brie locked the doors and didn't let anyone in until 4:15. This caused every guest to flood in all at once and delayed everything. Brie complained that the DJ's music in the building was disturbing the pool next door. However we were at the golf course a few days later and an event was being held with the band outdoors and Brie wasn't complaining to anyone. She was nowhere around even though kids were running around. We even recorded this event in case we seek legal avenues. As the evening progressed, Brie continued to intervene. We hired a professional bartender but Brie didn't like the kids asking the bartender for water or canned soda from behind the bar because Susan wouldn't like it and appeared as though minors were being served at the bar. There were 2 police officers as guests at the wedding and no one would give alcohol to minors. She made me move the heavy ice chest containing the water and soda away from the bar. She said kids drinks should be in the refrigerator in the kitchen however she kept locking the kitchen door so you had to go into the other room and use that door to enter the kitchen. As the evening continued I walked by Brie's office where her and the security guard were glued to the cameras. She said the children were running around and playing. I looked at the camera and all the children were in the oasis room. I told her I would go and get them out of there but she said they're safer in there and she put them in there. She said I need an adult in there or I will throw the children and their parents out of the building. She said they should be sitting down coloring not jumping around. She obviously has no kids. I missed half of my sons wedding because of her sat in the oasis room and watched the kids play. I told the kids go dance they said the mean lady said we can't leave this room. Good job terrifying kids Brie. She also accused my husband of having her keys which she lost. Then she had the audacity to ask guests to help her find her misplaced keys. Didn't get an apology after keys were found. The security guard we had to pay for was useless. He spent more time following Brie around like a lost puppy than doing his job. He was basically Brie's body guard and she thought she was security. With how much Brie complained she stressed the groom out and he wanted to leave the venue a few hours early and go Zipps to avoid dealing with her any longer. Brie went out of her way to ruin what was supposed to be a special day for the newlyweds and their family constantly harassing them throughout the night. She's a racist, rude, control freak, who doesn't like children. She really needed to stop inserting herself throughout the evening and just let everyone enjoy their evening! This behavior from Brie needs to be addressed however if Susan is behind this her behavior she should also be addressed. Apparently Susan lacks customer service skills and is the reason the last manager quit. The venue should provide compensation to the newlyweds considering how Brie went out of her way to ruin the event and made me lose memories I can never get back. read more

I recently attended a wedding here and had the worst wedding experience. The "woman" there in charge, Brie, was the most unprofessional and rude person. She had a negative attitude and was talking very condescendingly to everyone involved in the wedding party. Everything was spoke with a very disrespectful tone and with a condescending smirk. She kept everyone attending waiting outside and would not let them in until the wedding was scheduled to start which postponed everything back behind schedule. There were multiple guests who were accosted verbally by this person. She yelled at children in attendance and forced them into a room and had them scared to even do anything because "the lady" told them they had to stay there. She also told their parents the children were acting ghetto. She was either in person causing a disturbance to the bride and groom at every corner and they should have been left to enjoy their special day. We were told that water needed to be moved from the bar because children appeared to be getting served which was completely inaccurate and was monitoring the entire venue by camera. Any attempt at conversation was met with the same derogatory tone and smirks. If she actually had any clue how to be an event coordinator she would have had a much better concept of how an event should flow. She accused people of lying and then called several people derogatory names including "white trash" and then proceeded to state she was from Maryvale as if some threat to everyone. When asked for her name and manager she then shouted to everyone that her name was Brie and that her manager is Suzanne if anyone wanted to know. We were also told she is only doing what her manager wants from an event there and if true nobody there has any tact. From the start everything was met with unprofessionalism and contempt. I would never recommend this place to anyone for an event especially if this person is still there. No customer service skills or any kind of event planning skills. read more

Attending my first event at the Ahwatukee Event Center, a wedding celebration, was bittersweet. While the venue itself was nice, frustrations arose as doors remained closed past the scheduled 4:00 PM start time, leaving my fiancé and son standing in the heat until about 4:15ish before they were opened. Adding to the disappointment was the demeanor of the event coordinator, who repeatedly mentioned she was from 51st and Maryvale, projecting an unwelcoming vibe that left my loved ones feeling uneasy and out of place. It's disheartening when someone tasked with fostering joyous occasions contributes to discomfort. Additionally, her treatment of my son and other children was even worse, confining them to a poorly ventilated room with inadequate AC, which made them feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. In summary, what should have been a joyous occasion turned into a regrettable experience. I cannot recommend this venue. read more

Highly do not recommend. This facility and the people who run should really be looked into. Attending a wedding where the building manager has to be present at every turn and is getting involved in your occasion and harassing your guests is no way to run an event center. Not sure if because 95% of the guests were Hispanic & African American Bri felt the need to be present for the entire duration and made many demeaning and derogatory remarks to guests as well as a group of children. She also had the security guard we had to pay for follow her around the whole like a personal bodyguard so he wasn't doing his job either. We celebrated my daughter's quinceñera here and the celebration turned out fantastic. In addition to the picturesque views of South Mountain in the backgroun, this venue provides everything you need from tables and chairs to an outdoor seating area and bar area. Paige was wonderful to work with and provided us with a list of vendors to help make the event complete, from catering to decorations to bartender options. Paige was always available throughout the process either by text, phone, or email to answer any questions in preparation of the big day. I would recommend this venue and friendly staff who helped make my daughter's quince a success. Special shout out to Mary as well who was present on the day of the event and went above and beyond to make sure we had anything we needed. read more

We just had a graduation party This last Friday and this place is gorgeous and has everything you need to make a great party! I loved that they set up the tables and chairs for you so less work and they even create different layout to choose from . Their sound system is amazing which made dancing so fun and the outsides patios are as beautiful as the inside with beautiful views! The guests were pretty impressed with this place. The staff were very helpful especially Paige , she is amazing and made sure everything goes smoothly throughout the whole process and she answered any questions we had right away! Just hosted a 70th birthday celebration at this venue and had an excellent experience. Paige was very helpful and communicative and the venue was perfect for what we wanted to do. We had around 70 people attend and there was plenty of room both inside and outside for everyone including a live band under the gazebo structure. Setting up the band equipment was easy through the side gate and there was plenty of power available. The kitchen provided everything we needed and the number and types of tables the venue offered were set up exactly as we requested. All in all, I would highly recommend the AEC and its staff for any occasion! read more

If you could 0/5- I would. If you run a business, the people you choose are the face of your business. It's unfortunate when beautiful venues hire despicable employees. A wedding is hopefully a once in a lifetime experience- Bri ruined this for the happy couple, their extended family, and guests. It should be a clear sign- to the venue to make better choices and rectify this terrible experience. I'm absolutely appalled with her attitude, lack of professionalism, and stereotyping. went to a wedding this past Thursday wedding started at 4pm I arrived at 3:50 the event coordinator was very unprofessional and very rude they way she handles her people skills is terrible she stated that she wouldn't open the doors for guest until 4pm and to go wait in our cars doors didn't open up until close to 4:15. plus all she kept doing was complaining all night and even at one point stated that guest were acting ghetto to me that's very disrespectful when we were celebrating a family member union with his life partner. Ahwatukee Event Center is great venue for hosting our quarterly work meetings (100 employees). The event center manager (Paige) is GREAT to work with. She is quick, has clear communication and guidelines, she's responds to your questions quickly via text, email, call, and in person. She also gave me insight on past meetings we have hosted there to give me an idea of what it's looked in the past (my 1ST time planning an event). The Ahwatukee Events Center was the perfect choice for our Celebration of Life. The coordinator,Paige, made everything run so smoothly from our first contact right through to the end. She was available for questions, always prompt in her response. The sunset room and adjoining patio space was perfect. All super clean, bathrooms perfect, outdoor patio ready to go. Tables and chairs set up just the way we wanted. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and will definitely use this venue again! read more

We hosted a Bridal Shower on February 4, 2024 and it was wonderful! The planning was very easy, Brie is a dream to work with. She had suggestions on the placements of tables for our large group and it worked out perfectly. The bride and her mother were very excited to have the shower at the AEC and thought it turned out great! The extra bonus of the couple on the tv and signs, made it extra special. Mary helped us on the day of the shower and she did a great job of assisting us when we needed it. read more

Ahwatukee Event Center is a very beautiful hall where you can make your own and transform to why you want for your event. It's very spacious and has loads and loads of natural light. We just had our daughter's first birthday here and it was awesome! The room was big, clean, music played well on their Bluetooth system, kitchen is big and it came in very handy, tables and chairs are in great condition. They set up all table and chairs for you and they even let you choose a layout. Paige was the one who helped us and she was amazing! We recently had a surprise birthday party for my mom and we loved having it at the Ahwatukee event center. All the staff were great to work with, stayed to help with any questions we had and even to set up. At the time of set up, our table linens were dirty and they jumped in to find us cleans ones. Had my granddaughters 15th Birthday celebration here at the Event Center. KUDOS! TO BRI EVENT MANAGER. She was so professional in explaining the contract and what it entailed.
