Charlie typically had the same walkers at the same time each week. They were all professional, caring, attentive, and TRUE dog lovers! I loved Strut the Pup's daily walk reports and photos, which gave me peace of mind knowing he was being well taken care of while I was at work. On a few occasions when I was working from home, I watched as his regular walker arrived--Charlie would be waiting at the window and greeted them with full-body wags every time. When Charlie's hips started bothering him as he got older, the team helped me adjust his walks so he could continue enjoying his outdoor adventures. Sadly, Charlie has since passed, but I've saved many of the walk-report photos his walkers took (like this one), and they remain some of my favorite pictures of him. Cass was amazing and attentive to my dog, made sure to let us know if she pooped or not and what the consistency was like. She even asked for a list of commands and tricks so she could practice some mental stimulation which was awesome! She was also more than happy to help us with training when it came to calm greetings, as my dog doesn't really meet with any other strangers at our home. Scheduling walks through Tanya was super easy. The app made everything super seamless, like showing us the route they walked and any comments from the walker. On days that Cass wasn't available, Tanya did try to match us with other walkers on her team but after we did meet and greets I honestly felt that they didn't respect our request to not encourage my dog to jump when greeting. That was a red flag to me, so I haven't exactly met any other walker that I felt comfortable with.

If you asked me to design the ideal situation for leaving our dogs when we travel, I couldn't come up with anything better than what Mary's got going on. We have two dachshunds, and I wouldn't describe either as being particularly easy to care for. Sophia is 14, is very slow, and is almost immobile from arthritis and a leg break from many years ago. She can't navigate even a single step, and she needs to be handled gently. Charlie is younger, but he's a bit skittish. When we got them both back after 10 days with Mary, they were happier and more energetic than when we dropped them off. They were part of Mary's family, slept and cuddled with the kids, and hung out in the yard with their family dog. Sophia's multiple medications were administered correctly, as well. Mary also texted us daily updates and photos. Just an absolute pleasure to work with, and so glad we have someone like this to trust with our dogs when we're gone.

She kicked our dog out of boarding for "lunging at" another dog that she brought into the room without a slow introduction, expected us to pick her up immediately when we were on vacation, and refused to provide a refund for the night of care we didn't use. She kept our dog in a non-dog-proofed "she shed" by herself for several hours after the incident and was upset that our dog caused damage to that space. I do not think it is unreasonable to expect that a dog boarding business that cares for multiple dogs has a plan for when dogs don't get along, and that such a business should be able to handle incidents without expecting folks on vacation to drop everything to come get the dog.
