Open faced seafood ravioli
Amy U.

Instead of going to Nicholas like we do every year for our wedding anniversary, my husband and I decided to go to Raven & the Peach. Let me start by saying that the woman who took my reservation over the phone was extremely personable and friendly; I told her my husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary as well as celebrating my being pregnant with our second child. We were politely greeted and seated promptly when we arrived for our reservation. Thumbs up for valet parking! What a lovely restaurant inside. With the different color blues and all the wood, we thought it would be complete with a large wooden and golden ships wheel in the center of the restaurant - very "yacht club-ish". Live piano music was delightful. Food and service were both spectacular. I'm sorry to say I cannot give the wine or cocktail list a rating since I'm pregnant and did not get to experience that, but the ginger ale rocked - ha. We started off with lobster bisque and the open faced seafood ravioli; both were fantastic. My husband had the trio of filet, duck and lamb accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes. His dish had a delicious rich sauce which was a mix of au jus, onion, mushroom and bacon. I enjoyed the smaller filet of beef accompanied by mashed potatoes and we added an extra side which was the truffle lobster macaroni and cheese. It was amazing, very mild and the crunch on top was great. We shared the chocolate souffle with vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was tasty. We were extremely pleased when the hostess came around during the halfway point of our meal to congratulate us on our anniversary - that was a very nice touch. We would most definitely come back to Raven and the Peach. Sitting outside would be lovely on a summer evening.

Finally made it to the Raven for Jersey Shore Rest. Week. This is almost an hour drive for me but it was very worth it. After being so intrigued by their menu online I knows his was the place I wanted to try for restaurant week this fall. My guy and I snagged a last minute res for a friday at 6. I called to make my res and the woman took her time to find me an accommodating table (on a Thursday evening when spots were almost filled) and got me in for 6 instead of 5. Great customer service. We arrived and we're pleasantly surprised to find a pretty empty place. Guess it was good to have an early dinner. We were seated at a small table close to the bar, an intimate space which I was ok with since it was nearly empty. I ordered a white wine which took a little longer han expected to arrive. We chose to do the pre fix for $35. I started with coco shrimp which were decent but average and strangely came atop Thai noodles. My guy tried the butternut squash soup which he loved. The presentation was in a 12" bowl with a 4" small bowl opening. Nice modern design! For entrees I chose the salmon hollandaise which is solely a 5 star meal! The salmon portion was large and cooked perfectly. Cracking the yolk on top for the flavorful potatoes and salmon allowed the perfect richness to this dish. 10/10 recommend. I was so in love with my dish I did not taste much of my guys meal but he highly recommended it. He chose a chicken dish with sweet potato hash with pancetta and Brüssel sprouts. All I can say is that our dishes were cleaned! I had the fruit crumble for dessert topped with vanilla gelato which I liked but did not love because the cranberries were not soft enough and far too bitter for the dish. My guy picked the winner of a Blondie brownie topped with vanilla gelato and fresh berries. Live piano began during dessert and it made for an amazing environment. All in all I loved the main courses and would come Back for those solely. Hope to return for the next restaurant week

Back about 15 years ago, this was the place to go to for high end food, service, decor and a wonderful piano bar. Sadly the only thing that remains is the decor, which has not changed at all! Although the staff was polite and apologetic, we had to wait for everything, some items never came, drinks were wrong, food was blah. There was even an open hole in the ceiling. The live piano music was very pleasant but ended so early around 10 pm, when most of the place had already emptied out. Unexceptional and disappointing.

An upscale eatery in the heart of Fair Haven, that is what we have here in the Raven & the Peach. Good food, a swanky atmosphere and a twinge of piano music make this place a quiet & romantic escape. I was invited here by a friend to attend a Financial seminar where the food would be gratis. The menu was spelled out prior to us getting there. The crux of the dinner was really the financial lecture and not the food. The dinner was the lure , hence, I will comment on this: it consisted of minimally three courses, of which I suspected. Alcoholic beverages not included ( did you expect anything else?) The salad was replete with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, shaved fennel, in a Dijon vinegarette Course II: French Cut Chicken w/bone, baby carrots with mushroom risotto. For dessert was a chocolate silk tart w/various fresh berries. Tarty like I like it. Coffee/Tea. The mushroom risotto was a tad too heavy and somewhat tasteless otherwise the meal was excellent. I did not get a chance to see a regular menu to tell you how the prices are. Check online first.

Worst service. No bread. Wrong year bottle of wine. Cold food. Owner Richard suggested we GET A LIFE. Part of my life is fine dining. This wasn't it. PS. The valet lost our car, with the keys in it.

Chocolate soufflé

My fiancé and I love this place! We came here a few years ago for the first time after reading about them on jersey shore restaurant week and decided to come for his birthday. The food and service were excellent. We came again for our anniversary and they gave us complimentary champagne. This place is so special we ended up getting engaged there and they were wonderful. We were so nervous and excited we could barely eat! I came here recently for my sisters birthday and we We're the only ones in there. We had 3 different servers who made sure our bread basket was full and water was replenish. Everyone in our party ordered steak and I always get the scallops. I am very happy they went back to their original scallop recipe without the pork belly because it's heavenly. We got the mashed potatoes, cream spinach and lobster Mac and cheese as sides and Ceasar salads and lobster sushi roll as an app. The chocolate soufflé though they take about 20mins to make are worth the wait. They even gave us champagne for my sisters birthday. I can't say enough good things about this place although the meals are on the higher end the services and ambiance make this a wonderful restaurant to celebrate any special occasions with! Can't wait to go back on our anniversary !

Samosa cookie soufflé very good!

I've been going to this restaurant for a very long time. I'd come here quite often with my parents when I was younger. We always enjoyed all our meals here. Only one time I was ever disappointed in a meal here. One time I had a porterhouse steak and found it to be fatty, but that was over a year ago. My recent meal here everything was very good. We started with the octopus appetizer and although it was made well it was too small so I wouldn't recommend ordering it. We also ordered the mushroom and lobster ravioli and that was excellent and it was a nice size appetizer. For entrees we had the 10 ounce filet mignon topped with crumbled blue cheese and the sides we ordered with it was a creamed spinach and a macaroni and cheese all very good and reasonable in price for the quality of food and the nice portion size. We also ordered the red snapper special entree and it came with lobster mash potatoes that was also very good and a nice portion too. For desserts we had the chocolate lava cake and the chocolate samosa cookie soufflé special both were amazing! They offer lots of delicious soufflés here just tell your server when you place order for dinner you are interested in getting a soufflé as it takes time to prepare. The servers are great here and very professional and they never rush you so it's great for large parties here. The only reason why I can't give it 5 stars is just because I feel this restaurant lacks innovation. It has the same menu for over a decade and they sometimes only have 1 special entree a night if any at all. To keep regular customers coming in they need to add a frequent variety of specials every night for appetizers and entrees otherwise customers will get bored with the same menu. It's the only reason why I haven't frequented in so long. I also suggest a restaurant of this caliber should offer fresh hot rolls with dinner instead of the bread basket. All in all the food is very good here, and I recommend on going.

ESPRESSO MARTINI

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at this magnificent restaurant last night with my partner, who happens to be an executive chef. It was a special occasion indeed, just to both have a Friday night off together. A good number of tables were dining when we arrived in the 6 o'clock hour, and a wonderful 2 man band set the mood to match the gorgeous ambiance. From the well lit, beautiful and inviting walk up to the door, to the outstanding saluter who brought us to our seats, we felt incredibly welcome and comfortable. The bartender Jeff was pleasant, informative, and a great conversationalist at the bar, and made the most exquisite and delicious cocktails. The Espresso Martini, to name one in particular, was out of this world. We ordered a few small plates and entrees to share, to taste a wide variety of what they had to offer. From the wild mushroom tagliatelle, steak tartar and the grilled octopus, to the lobster glazed halibut, every course was pouring with flavors and aromas that made our taste buds dance. We had the fine pleasure of even meeting Chef Meg who was warm and hospitable, as well as incredibly talented. As if dinner and drinks weren't already completely satisfying, we decided to share a dessert from the incredible pastry chef of warm flourless chocolate cake with vanilla bean gelato. TO DIE FOR. This restaurant and experience has us craving more soon, and was the most perfect date night my partner and I could have asked for!

The ambience is absolutely beautiful warm, inviting, and the perfect atmosphere whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a nice night out. I ordered the dry-aged bourbon ribeye, and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. It was so tender it practically melted in my mouth, like cutting through butter. The flavor was incredible, with the perfect balance of smoky richness and a subtle sweetness that made every bite unforgettable. What really made the evening special was our server, Mark. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of our questions about the menu. His positive attitude and genuine hospitality made the entire experience even more enjoyable. If you get Mark as your server, you're lucky and guaranteed to have an excellent dining experience. To top it all off, we ordered the Chiro Bowl for dessert, and because it was my birthday, they surprised me by putting it on the house. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a perfect ending to an amazing meal. If you're looking for an outstanding steakhouse with incredible food, a beautiful atmosphere, and exceptional service, Butcher's Block is the place to go. Food and atmosphere was good (though indoors I won't say it was anything extraordinary). If you're…read morea foodie, there is better, but for NJ cuisine, it's standard for "high end" What was disappointing to me was: the fact that I was there enjoying a nice steak dinner with colleagues, and I was saving half of my steak for my husband to take home. It had a side of roasted elephant garlic, which my husband absolutely loves, so I couldn't NOT save it for him.But the thing is, they took it away without asking me if I wanted to pack it or not. And I brought this up, not once, not twice but -- 3 times-- with the wait staff. When I asked one of the waiters what the manager said, He replied " I'm not going to lie, I don't remember" Before I left, I asked my server if I could speak to the manager-- The manager finally met with me. He said that he was "trying to find you to give you my card" because "he did hear about the incident and he feels really bad." Mind you, even after I spoke to the first person about this incident, we were there for close to another 30 minutes (at least). Sitting at our table, having dessert and drinks . No one came back to address the situation, no one offered to make another plate of food for my husband to make up for the food they accidentally threw away. He offered his card, but I declined because I will not be going back. Honestly, poor service and optics for a high-end restaurant, at best. If you're used to high-end haute cuisine and have an eclectic palette, I'd skip this restaurant. If you want "the usual" nice-enough restaurant with good with a decent-enough ambience-- this is a good-enough place. For me, a place like that-- with "standard fare" cuisine, should have above average service. That's where they fell short.

The young hostess told him that animals were not allowed and that they could not seat us, even outside on the patio. At the time, there was only one other table seated outside, and we were completely willing to sit off to the side in a corner away from other guests. Being told we could not be accommodated, especially after having been seated outside with my service dog during a previous visit, made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. We ultimately decided to leave rather than make the situation uncomfortable for anyone. I understand that restaurants have policies, but the inconsistency between my previous visit and this experience was disappointing. I hope management takes the time to make sure staff understand how to properly handle guests accompanied by service animals. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I don't see myself returning.
