I wanted an estimate for installing weep drain screens on the east side of my 2 acres. The west side has no drains and the south side already had galvanized steel drains installed. He refused to give an estimate unless I Included the fence and gates around my pool...which has never been a problem or an issue and does not open to the desert as does the east side. With 218 drains on the east side they would have made a good profit. Trying to be greedy and demanding installing places I do not want it is not acceptable. My appointment to meet with him was 1Pm. Approximately10AM I get a call he is 15 to 20 minutes from my home. I told him I was on way to Doctor but would be home by 1Pm for our appointment. It was a bad experience from beginning to end. Luckily they are not the only game in town. I have since spoken to owner of Rattlesnake Solutions. I explained to him his salesman jumped out of his car, and before coming to my door and introducing himself started snapping pictures covering the front of my home. I understand now why he did but in this day and age he could have introduced and explained himself. The salesman or someone at the company, may have asked my reason for wanting to close off the drains. It had nothing to do with stopping snakes....which is why I did not need an estimate for closing off my gates. They lost out on a big job because he did not care to listen as to why I called them. We moved from Santa Fe to Tucson in June, to a home abutting a wash. Turns out rattlesnakes LOVE our home. So, to protect our dogs, our children and grandchildren (the reasons we moved here) and ourselves, we got proposals from 3 different companies to install rattlesnake fencing, and chose that from Rattlesnake Solutions. Its proposal was extremely detailed, with very clear pricing, and left the other proposals "in the dust". From a "cost" perspective, it was the middle of the 3. Due to the size of our job, they were not able to schedule it for about 6 weeks after we signed the contract paperwork. Between then and installation, we encountered 6 diamondback rattlesnakes in and around our back patio (actually, a number under it, because it is a ground-level wooden deck). Company representatives came to our home and successfully located and relocated several of them without charge since we had the job scheduled and, obviously, when installation of the fencing was completed, they didn't want to have fenced any in! The installation itself was performed over 3 days early this month - right on schedule - and throughout the process the installers checked periodically to make sure no snakes were, in fact, fenced in. Throughout the process of investigating potential companies to help us, getting proposals, dealing with snakes while awaiting installation, and during installation as well, we dealt primarily with Jeff Martineau. The installers were Josh, Michael and Addie. We were 1,000% satisfied with all of our work with the 4 of them, and with Jill, who scheduled installation. This is truly a first-class company that we would recommend to anyone. Too, as an aside, it provides a fascinating booklet entitled "Quick and East Guide to the Snakes of Tucson" which made very interesting reading, with excellent drawings of a variety of venomous and non-venomous snakes done, interestingly enough, by Jeff, and lots of useful information about each snake's habitat and tips on how to keep snakes away from one's property. So kudos to this company for a job well done. While rattlesnake fencing is not an inexpensive endeavor, the intangible benefit of feeling safe on our environment makes it worthwhile for us. read more

Did you know baby rattlesnakes can fit through 1/4" space and older ones can jump 3 feet?!? Getting this treatment done addresses all points of entry to the yard. Early eve of Dec 5th I had the shock of my life as I came face-to-literal-face with a 4' long diamondback rattlesnake in my yard. Gratefully both of us were stunned enough not to do anything rash- he didn't strike out @ me and after I resumed normal heart & respiratory rate I scrambled to find my phone & called Rattlesnake Solutions. We had Snake Solutions snake-proof our backyard a year ago this month, right when we moved into our new home. We have four small dogs 8-15lbs) and I am constantly concerned about their safety since we are living in the desert. Having this snake barrier installed gave me the sense of security and confidence I needed to be able to enjoy our desert backyard with people as well as my dogs. Last night 6/18/21, I was taking my lil' babes out for a night time potty break. After being outside for probably 20 seconds, I heard what sounded like a giant sprinkler system going haywire.... the dogs became frantic and were running around in circles, barking like crazy. I followed them back over to the very same door we had just walked out of a minute before. Laying smack dab in front of the French door was a coiled rattlesnake rattling very loudly. I finally was able to gather the dogs who were all going off in different directions, barking at the snake, as I hurriedly banged on the window to get my husband's attention. My husband, who wasn't aware of the situation, WALKED OUT THE SAME DOOR and missed stepping on the snake by a hair.... Fast forward a few minutes.... We shot the snake and beat it over the head with a gardening shovel and immediately emailed the company with a photo of the snake since they offer a "follow - up snake sighting appointment" to help find the breach and fix it. According to Yelp, they are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for snake removal... albeit we already took care of this guy, may he Rest In Peace, so there was not an urgent need to remove said snake at this point. The owner of the company contacted us the following morning, (Sunday, 6/20) via phone call and email, and someone was at our home at 10am Monday morning to go over the backyard with us. He diligently looked around and found a small mouse hole that he thought could be the entrance area- he filled it with concrete right then. There was another area that we were concerned could have been an entry point, and even though the employee said he didn't think a snake would go to that much trouble, he would go over the scenario with the other techs and get back with us. I've learned from this experience that no area is 100% secure from snakes- even with snake proofing. After you have a snake fence installed there is still a small chance of seeing a rattlesnake in your yard. Always be vigilant and check your yard often, especially if you have small animals. It's only fair to add that we live IN the desert. Our house faces the open desert. We see all kinds of wildlife and desert animals (on the other side of our fence) all the time. We realize this and understand the odds of seeing a rattlesnake are probably greater for us than for others. I would still have this snake fence installed - even after this experience and knowing the odds. It's probably saved us many similar experiences since having it. read more

First, when someone has all 5 stars I wonder if they somehow bought them. These guys really deserve them. They were prompt in returning calls, answering questions and arranging a date for installation. Brent took 2 days to install gate thresholds and fencing. He matched the colors of the pavers and gate fencing perfectly. We have lived in our home for 2 years and for the first time we are comfortable sitting outside enjoying the weather, view and letting our dog run free. We back up to a wash and have had one rattler we know of in our yard and our neighbors have had numerous. A side note. We have trapped a rat inside our yard. While hiking up Thunderbird Mountain, I stumbled upon a rattlesnake that someone had dropped a rock on. It was alive but unable to free itself. I called 5 different places ( park ranger, non emergency police , wildlife offices, and a few companies), none of which would help.
