French toast cake!!…read more We had some friends from out of town come to visit and they wanted to have breakfast so we brought them here. There are few breakfast spots in the quarter that I like and this is among them. I like the bacon omelet with Gruyère and a side of hot sausage. Their omelets have a cheese pull! Put some hot sauce on there and you're cooking. The hot sausage, well you gotta try it. It's unique in a good way. The crepes are good my wife likes the banana and Nutella, but the folks next to us got savory crepes and I think I am going to get that next time. One of our friends got the king cake French toast and we had seen it before and knew what he was getting into but he ate it all!!! The service is super friendly every time we have been, and this time was no exception. The place is French Quarter through and through. Kinda quirky, kinda hipster, kinda you know. There is construction going on out front on Decatur that isn't close to be done so the fences make it kinda hard to find, and sitting outside is not so great now. There is nothing you can do about it, but we prefer to sit inside so there can be a wait because it's small. If you don't want to wait go ahead and sit outside if the weather nice. Overall, we really like this place and the food has always been good. A must try if you're visiting New Orleans.

The coffee tasted like it lost the will to live, the food was solidly "meh," and the French toast itself was so dry it could double as kindling. Honestly impressive, given the name. Only highlight? We arrived sans reservation, but were whisked straight into the courtyard -- arguably the best seat in the house on a pleasant Louisiana evening. Between the soft night air and the glow of the courtyard, the atmosphere alone deserved applause. The cocktails arrived first and immediately set a dangerously high standard: beautifully crafted, perfectly balanced, and the kind of drinks that make you consider canceling your plans afterward. Fortunately, the food rose to the occasion. The edamame and roasted Brussels sprouts disappeared with alarming speed, and the Amelie Salad was a standout -- generously portioned, fresh, vibrant, and substantial enough to be an entrée or ideal for sharing if you're pretending to be civilized. A special nod to Liz, who elevated the entire experience with spot-on recommendations, warm hospitality, and the rare ability to be both attentive and effortlessly relaxed. In a city famous for memorable dining, this meal still managed to feel special -- equal parts elegant, welcoming, and unmistakably New Orleans.

The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and drinks at Luzianne. Minor things noted, mainly on the cook of the eggs, but nothing awful. It his the spot and checked the boxes!

The stars had aligned in such a way that I knew it had to be. The location is on the corner, and you could drive right past it if you didn't know what you're looking for (and I didn't, so trust me for that!). When you walk in, there's a bar seating area, as well as some seating on the main level, and then there's a loft type level with more seating available. I'm glad I was there on a random weekday, as I feel that the line to get in could probably get long on the weekend. Service was prompt, drinks were replenished as needed, and the chicken and waffles were just as I had dreamed they would be. Now, I know that not everyone loves chicken and waffles, but fret not, as they have all kinds of other breakfast options for you to enjoy. Your visit will not be in vain!

He acknowledged the request, but when the food came out, the French toast was still hard and overcooked. When I tried to explain the issue, the server argued with me and insisted that's how it's made because of the brown sugar. That didn't make sense, especially since I've had their French toast before and it wasn't like that. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable just properly cooked French toast. Being argued with instead of helped made the experience worse. At this point, it feels like consistency and customer service are ongoing issues.

We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children (one being only 2 years old), and because of that they changed our table type from a 4-top to a 5-top and made us wait an additional 30 minutes. Meanwhile, multiple tables became available that easily could have accommodated us, but the hostess was determined to keep telling us we had to wait. To make matters worse, there was open bench seating in the back where customers ordering to-go could sit. I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other." No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite. I was simply trying to work together to find some reasonable solution instead of continuing to watch everyone else get seated while our family, including small children, kept waiting. Absolutely horrible customer service experience.

We arrived to a line out front in a residential neighborhood giving house restaurant vibes from the street. Walking through the kitchen to reach the dining area is extremely odd and nearly discouraged me from dining to be honest. I'm from Vegas and never seen a restaurant concept like this. The service was overall decent and aside from the young male server vaping everyone was hospitable. The fish served with grits is "heavily" seasoned. I would def ask to scale back. The French toast served on French bread was a nice idea but way too much bread unless you're sharing it. Highly recommend adding bottle water to the menu. $100+ one time visit is plenty. You have to be patient because they have a system on taking your order to make sure the cook is ready. You will probably have to wait in line for about 15 minutes depending on how busy it is the place only sits about 25 people. It's normal diner food. If you're in the area, you should try it. The Camellia grill is something you should experience at least once but we probably wouldn't go back often because the food wasn't spectacular, but it was good, but the wait wasn't worth our experience for us and it's kind of cramped in there. I kept getting elbowed and I was elbowing the person next to me. We did meet some regulars they say they always come in for the pie. I think it's better for lunch, they have breakfasts, and they give large portions. If you're looking for the classic local diner experience, this is it. The prices were really good. The place has classic Diner decor with history of the area and the diner, which was fun to look at. I want to say that I had the hamburger steak and fries with gravy and mashed potatoes and green beans, it's definitely comfort food, I was in a happy place so I say if you want to be in a happy place and go back to when you were a kid when grandma or mom cooked you a meal this is what you get here.
