    Tikka Chance On Me
    Shernell H.

So, I stumbled on Rasa randomly as I was trying to decide on what my taste buds desired as I walked from the Wharf to the Navy Yard. While walking past and eventually into Rasa, I immediately noticed that they were a cute, casual spot, that served Indian food. Needless to say I was sold. Rasa gives Chipotle/CAVA/Bindaas vibes (affordable food with decently healthy options). Additionally, the workers here were patient with honest recommendations, which I greatly appreciated. Prior to making such a hard decision lol, I sampled the chicken to help solidify my choice. The chicken by itself was flavored very well, which led me to get the Tikka Chance on Me Bowl. The bowl itself was great, portion wise, however there were some sauces and ingredients within the bowl that reduced the impact-fulness of that wonderfully flavored chicken. Due that, the bowl was just average to me. Overall, I had a good experience and will be open to trying something different at Rasa that amplifies the flavors of their chicken.

Listen I love me some Rasa! Ever since I was first introduced to them thru Yelp. Now I am working on a 6 week project at Navy Yard. Ask me how many times I have had them in a 2 week span :-) lol. Today marks number 5. Today we were greeted by Dejuan who not only made recommendations but also supplied us with top customer service. I got a bowl with arugula, chicken, chickpeas, yellow rice, cucumbers, corn and to top it all off the chickpea noodles! The quality of food here is what makes me keep coming back. I try something new each time, whether it is the lamb, or a topping or a sauce.

would've given it five stars if one of the employees was a bit kinder in her approach. the food was good for fast food indian and i love that they had a vegan masala chai soft serve option. i did not love that i wasn't told there would be an up charge. the way they rang up a customized bowl felt like an up charge. instead of informing me kindly the woman was kind of like so be it. didn't love that and felt a bit petty. ordered a bowl with lamb and cauliflower and potatoes with the fixings. it was pretty good and filling. we had some garlic naan on the side and i ordered a couple scoops of the soft serve with their chai cookies as well. again, a chai lover here. love the flavor! appreciated the education around the owners and all the nods to indian culture around the restaurant.

Summary: solid meal. We ordered for pickup, so not too much to be said about service, but it's kind of like Indian food meets CAVA/Chipotle. The portion size in my case was a bit underwhelming and they were a bit stingy with the sauce for my entree. Otherwise, the flavor was good and the shrimp was cooked very well. It's a great meal for a reasonable price and they have a good selection of drinks too.

I'm late to the Rasa train but I'm glad I'm on it now! Rasa is hella good and very reasonable for the quality of food. The decor is super cute and colorful with swing chairs included. It is very spacious for DC and more like a Chipotle style line when you enter. The menu has a great variety of bowls, drinks (nonalcoholic and alcoholic) and desserts. I've had their butter chicken bowls, mango lassi frozen yogurt and hot masala chai. All 5 stars! I'll have to try new items next time I go but I like sticking to my regular order lol.

Rasa is fabulous and I wouldn't be surprised if it keeps growing like Cava did. Like others have said, it's kind of like "Chipotle but Indian"--except there are dishes you can actually order without choosing each ingredient, they have more options for sides (the samosas are my favorite!), they have alcoholic beverages (including local beers!), they have much cuter decor (very colorful and hip), and they have an adorable origin story. In that sense, it's better than Chipotle and shouldn't be compared! Service was excellent, and I loved everything I ate. Unsurprisingly for Indian cuisine, there were plenty of options for me as a vegetarian. I highly recommend Rasa!

This is my 3rd time here. Love the food. It's fresh and healthy I think. $5 first bowl

We checked out Rasa for the first time for a quick, casual dinner after a comedy show in Navy Yard. I love Cava / fast casual bowls and Indian food, so I was excited for Rasa! The flavors were delicious. I made my own bowl, but I think next time I would try one of their curated creations. The samosa chaat was underwhelming unfortunately! I loooove samosas so I was looking forward to that side dish - but the samosas were super dry. The ambiance inside the restaurant is super cute and cozy. I will be visiting the downtown location for lunch soon!

I ordered Rasa for delivery while in my hotel in DC and I was so glad to have tried it! Really fresh flavors, good portions, and a good price. I ordered a Greens+ Grains bowl. You can build your own bowl. I ordered mine with tofu, cauliflower, rice, greens, chickpeas, tomato, avocado + chutneys. Also ordered garlic naan, samosa chaat, and masala chai cookies. The food was really delicious! Great flavors. Only downfall was I didn't get any tofu despite ordering some in the bowl and the chai cookies weren't very the best/fresh. The naan was yummy though and complimented all the flavors in the bowl well. Definitely a great option for delivery or to even dine in as it looked like a nice spot!

I have never been to a beach party in Goa, but I would love to go someday. I imagine that visiting Rasa gives a little bit of what that might be like, in the best possible way. One of their menu items mentions Goa and I have been thinking of it ever since. Service was smiling, warm, friendly, attentive and casual. I felt like I could ask anything that I needed to as a novice with Indian cuisine. We ordered the lamb bowl. It was a large amount of food/a good value... rich with complex layers of flavor. I finished mine before I could take a photo. Oops! The desserts were two varieties of "creamy crack" in that they were good enough to become addictive. I ate both and left The Date to fend for himself. :#) I'm sorry to post photos of empty dishes but the food was gone by the time that I gathered my wits. I'm sure to be back very soon and will try to get a photo.

We typically do take out/pick up using the online ordering. This time we did order ahead and set a time for our food to be ready. When we got to the restaurant it was packed and ready to go when we requested for it to be ready. I've never dined in but we do like the decor of the restaurant. There are lots of color usage but not over the top and I really do like the hanging egg shaped basket chairs. They're fun looking. Our food was good. I ordered a Tikka chance on me. Chickens good and enjoy the sauces veggies and other toppings. One customization I do is half basmati rice and half noodles, I like the variety. There are a lot of options to build your own if you want to be creative or have a particular craving. Will be back for more bowls and garlic naan!

Absolutely love the food here, so fresh, and so full of flavor ! We got the custom made bowl witch chicken, rice , spinach and tomato garlic sauce !

That is really cool--and great for people who don't drink much, like me! There's also a quite large menu of mocktails, which look very intriguing, but tonight I opted for a lassi drink because I needed to get some nutrients in after a very sweaty hot yoga workout... I tried the following: - Mango lassi - thick, sweet, and very refreshing after a sweaty workout! It was my first time to try a lassi, and I thought it was great. The texture was very thick and creamy and smooth, and you can definitely taste the mango. - Veggie samosa - texture was perfect, very crispy. The sauces were outstanding and very flavorful. Possibly the best veggie samosas I've had! - Butter chicken - not the best butter chicken I've had but still a solid dish. The sauce seemed to be less creamy and less sweet than other places, yet a bit more flavorful. My partner was a bit disappointed in this dish, but I still thought it was good (I'm more about flavors, while my partner is more about creaminess). I did find the chicken meat to be a tad dry though. - Lamb & spinach - lamb meat was excellent and very tender. While the butter chicken (see above) might've been a bit dry, this lamb was cooked perfectly. And it was packed with tonsssss of flavors. - Garlic naan - texture was not as thick/soft as I would've liked, but the flavor was veryyyy garlicky, which I liked. Heads-up: It takes a while for the food to get ready. The place seems to make everything from scratch. So, order some appetizers if you're hungry while you wait for the main dishes!

Throughout my visit, many staff members were speaking loudly to each other in Spanish, making it difficult to enjoy the atmosphere or even hear the background music. My server, however, was courteous and provided good service. As for the food, the ground beef in the Soltani was very good, but the Barg was slightly burnt and chewy. Since the meal took some time to arrive, I felt rushed to finish eating before the stated 6:15 PM deadline. For a restaurant where customers are paying premium prices, being pressured to eat quickly is not an experience I would expect or appreciate. The chicken came out with blackened edges because of their preparation method. I don't prefer that taste, but others may. I did not find the sauce to be particularly spicy so I added the 'extra hot' sauce on the side, which helped to add more flavor. Surprisingly, the chicken breast was very moist, along with the thigh. The ambience is casual and relaxed. There are plenty circular or modular seats along with smaller tables along the back end of the restaurant. My biggest complaint was their restrooms. They have gender neutral restrooms; two stalls total. Both restrooms were in great need of cleaning with a LOT of bodily fluids all along the toilets and floors. Also, there was no option for hand towels, only an air blower to dry your hands, which is one of the most disgusting ways to dry freshly washed hands. I recommend either creating one male and one female stall instead of unisex because men and women have very different habits in the restroom. Once we realized how ordering worked, everyone went to the counter. I ordered last, but my meal was fairly simple: The Wingman (6 wings with PERi Chips and PERi-PERi ranch) plus a side of rice from the kids' menu. Everyone else received their food, ate, and finished before my order ever came out. To the staff's credit, one employee noticed I still hadn't been served and appeared to rush my order. When my food finally arrived, I was disappointed to find one of my six wings was so small and burnt that it wasn't edible (see photo). Some of the other chicken served to our table was also a little over-charred. On the positive side, I really enjoyed the lavender lemonade, and I liked the variety of PERi-PERi sauces available to customize the flavor and heat level. Overall, the experience had some service and food quality issues, but there were enough positives that I'd be willing to give Nando's another try. Hopefully, the next visit will be smoother.

My experience at Hell's Kitchen in Washington, DC was incredible from start to finish. The food,…read moreservice, and atmosphere all lived up to the hype. I ordered the three-course prix fixe menu with the seared scallops, the famous Beef Wellington, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Every course was excellent. The scallops were perfectly cooked and full of flavor, the Beef Wellington was tender and cooked beautifully, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding was the perfect way to end the meal--it absolutely lived up to its reputation. I also tried the roasted chicken and the baked mac and cheese, and both were delicious. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and one of my favorite sides of the night. For my drink, I had the Desert Mule mocktail, which was refreshing, well-balanced, and a great non-alcoholic option. The highlight of the evening, though, was our waiter, Devon. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. His excellent service made an already amazing dining experience even better. If you're visiting DC and looking for a memorable meal, Hell's Kitchen is definitely worth it. I can't wait to come back!

Place is new, fancy and glamourous. We were taken to the water side dining room where the sunset…read morewas nice. The place felt like touristy place with touristy prices and treatment. The waiter "recommended" only the most expensive dishes and scuffed at one of my people for deciding on the cheaper plate. The appetizers didn't disappoint. It was tasty. The oysters were very thin, tiny and tasteless. Just weak. The Beef Wellington was plain Jane. I had to get the "touristy" plate and definitely got shorted. The mains were just okay. The sides were tiny for almost 20 a little plate. Their "famous" dessert whatever it was, was ok. Our main server was meh, but the water pourer to the guy removing the plate were diligent and nice. The check was pretty high. On top of that, they already added 20% tip, and the server was pushing hard for more. About 200 a person when said and done. The whole experience felt like money grab even though we won't step in unless we are very comfortable with paying whatever. But deliberately pushing things and including a min 20% when it might not be is something interesting. The experience tells me maybe Gordon Ramsay has become Just a business ploy. It's not about offering value to customers, it's about wooing and pushing them to pony up money. I think much less of the guy and don't think will be interested with any more of his stuff. It was a let down but I am glad I found out after all these years. Def. different than the Michellin 3 star of Ramsay I went to years ago.
