I like the idea of quick make and go indian food. Deciding between chipotle, sweet greens, I came here for flavors. It was meh ok. I didn't feel like the flavors where there for when I order indian food. Maybe they make the dishes very lightly with flavor since they are serving to the masses and to get buy-off from everyone. But for me it was disappointing because it more on the bland size. There was enough food, I wasn't able to finish it. I think the spinach was the best part for me. I started off with the mini samosas, 3 pieces the size of 2 chicken nuggets each, and FULL of flavor. I didn't use any of the sauces that came with it because I was saving it for the naan. The naan here was just ehh, probably because it was packed in tin foil and kind of steamed in there so became a little too chewy for me. The butter chicken burrito was very good for my taste (I don't eat a lot of Indian food normally). The flavor and textures where there with the chickpeas and pickled onions and paneer. Flavor explosion, but not overwhelming. I was so full from the mini samosas at lunch that I did not eat the burrito until about 7 hours later and the flavors were great, even cold. I have had food from here before at local events. But today was my first day actually ordering a bowl. I was pleasantly surprised. It was very good and fresh tasting. I ordered chicken and lamb, but honestly, the chicken was the best part. I like that you have options to customize, similar to a cava or chipotle. There are customization limits, and I think you pay more if you go over those limits, but the portion, itself, is very good and filling. I placed my order online. When I picked it up, it was accurate and the employee at the register was very nice. Overall, this is a cute little spot. I built a bowl with chicken tikka over basmati rice, stacked it with warm veggies, cool toppings, and a healthy pour of tamarind chili sauce. The chicken was tender and smoky with just the right amount of char, and every layer of the bowl brought something to the table--crunch, spice, tang, richness. The garlic naan deserves its own moment. Warm, soft, and seriously garlicky--it's the kind of side you end up eating first, even though you tell yourself you'll save it. I tried this Indian restaurant today for a quick lunch to go. I ordered the Spicy Chili Chicken bowl. The amount of rice the server put in the bowl was half filled of the bowl. Next, he gave me small spoonfuls of the other ingredients. I received 4 small chicken bites the size of an inch of each in the bowl. I was very disappointed. When I got the receipt, I could not believe how many different taxes the buyer is required to pay in Arlington. I will not be eating out when at work because of the amount of taxes. Cute and casual spot with bowls with an Indian twist. Overall the food is solid and there's a good variety of toppings to choose from.

While the Paneer wrap was quite filling, the service put a sour taste in my mouth. The hearty Paneer wrap with a spicy kick was stuffed to the brim with rice, paneer, tomato sauce, chick peas, and chutney. The ingredients didn't blend that well together and don't resemble the photos. I wish the wrap could be customized with more mild sauces and lentils instead of rice. I'll have to ask ahead of time - next time! When I asked for substitutions on the spot, the grumpy female worker annoyingly said no. I understand the wrap can't be fully customized, I expect a better attitude from the staff member. I noticed a similar apathetic attitude at the Mount Vernon in D.C. and Mosaic District in VA. Service seems to be a pervasive problem at all of the locations. While I'm rooting for Rasa with good food and the founding brothers seem nice, I don't visit often due to the lack of customer service. read more

Love that we have all sorts of different bowl places. This one was very flavorful. The tomato garlic sauce was delicious. Good bowl. However the staff leave little to be desired. Came back again for Rasa at this location. It was the first place I've tried it and I'm happy to say they've kept their standards high. Food is absolutely delicious. Ingredients are fresh, and portion sizes are generous in my opinion. I ended up customizing my bowl as I had a $5 reward to redeem. Did a mixture of grains and super greens with chicken. I have to say though, it was the eggplant that I thoroughly enjoyed. Placed the order through the mobile app and was immediately greeted and handed my food on arrival. RASA is my favorite spot for happy hour in Crystal City! Happy hour until 7pm is amazing, and its deals are insane. $5 cocktails, including a spiked mango lassi??? Unreal, and all the cocktails are so yummy. The team is so great and friendly (shoutout Alejandro and Miguel!), they've been so accommodating with bringing back the spiked mango lassi!!! The restaurant seating is also so nice, both inside and out with the weather cooling down! The food is also fantastic, with great portions and flavors! Rasa has truly been my go-to fast bowl place since I've moved to National Landing 3 years ago. The service is always great, and the food is consistently amazing across their locations -- not something you can say about most franchises / chains. I love that they've expanded their menus since starting out -- burritos and alcoholic beverages are great happy hour options. I love getting their mango lassi / chai soft serve after a hot summer day, even as a stand alone dessert. As I write this review during a wintery month, I was suggested a hot chai latte since the server Alejandro heard my congestion in my voice. The hot chai was so healing. They also slightly dimmed the lights (love that for the evening hours) and played great indie / pop music. Alejandro even passed out samples of soft serve which was a sweet treat after such a busy Sunday! I'll always recommend Rasa for fast Indian food if you're in the National landing area. We were looking for a place to have dinner and came upon this fast-casual place. It's on a block with a few other restaurant options. This is the restaurant with the giant door! We opted for this to accommodate a few dietary restrictions. Someone described this to us as "Indian Chipotle" -- you can create your own bowl. However, there are also some pre-made bowl combinations, and I opted for one of those. I like that their combo options all have cute/clever names! I love lamb, so I opted for their lamb kebab bowl option. Lamb was tender, flavorful and not gamey and I appreciate that it came with a vegetable too. However, there were bits of eggplant that were a bit too burnt. Little bit over charred... That said, I liked the flavor combo with the lamb and the chutney/sauces. Generous with the servings. I also ordered a side of garlic naan. I'd skip the naan next time. Wasn't that good. The restaurant decor is very cute! We ended up dining in because it was too cold to walk back to the hotel. I ordered Rasa on Uber Eats and it was the worst $31 I've spent in a long time. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, & Samosas. The only thing that was good was the mint cilantro chutney. The Chicken Tikka Masala sauce was SO watery. I could hardly find it in the bowl. Not at all what the picture looked like. The Naan was incredibly soggy and chewy. And the Samosas were incredibly dry and flavorless. A big blob of dry mush surrounded by pastry. I'd way rather go to Trader Joe's and buy this entire meal frozen than order from Rasa again. So disappointed and dissatisfied. I wish I could get a refund. read more

Hands down, one of the best Indian Food Restaurants ever. It is very modern, yet the authenticity remains. Bright fun colors, cool furniture, and an app to track points and save money! I was so fascinated by the look, the service and the FOOD!!! The flavors were there and you get a good amount for your buck. Went here this past weekend with some friends from the NationStates Sports community. We write roleplays about fictional nations and the national sports teams of those nations. Anyway, many of us from US/Canada IRL got together in the DC area this past weekend. On Sunday, we hung out at Crystal City playing board games then went to RASA for lunch. The create your own food was delicious, I got some chicken with rice because the spiced beef was cooking and I didn't want to wait. And it was so good. I haven't eaten much Indian food before but this was good. It was spicy and amazing. Lots of different spices, lots of different tastes, so good. But you can get non-spicy stuff too if you want. Incredibly flavorful food, much better than I'd have thought fast-casual would be. It is delicious and I would highly recommend, especially if you're hanging out in the area to begin with. read more

First there was Chipotle, and then CAVA emerged. Do we have a pattern? RASA may be in a city near you before we know it! When I usually step into a Chipotle style concept, I usually default of a pre-made menu item as I get overwhelmed with the create your own selections, especially when there's a queue. The name of the food items are quite clever if I may add. I ordered Goa You Own Way ($13) on my visit, which consisted of spiced beef, coconut ginger sauce, basmati rice, tossed green beans, pickled onions, mint cilantro chutney, and roasted lentils. Lots and lots of varying flavor profiles depending on what you pick at in your bowl. Overall super filling and would love to try the other items on the menu. Maybe even build up the confidence to build my own eventually. read more
