I had one issue with the frankly crappy reassembly of my captain's bed. When the movers left, the bed was bowed, drawers would not close completely and the slats were falling out or not fitting in at all. I reported the problem to Serena and it was corrected promptly. A crew came and reassembled the bed to eliminate the problems. Finally, Serena is the best. She is responsive, knowledgeable, friendly and very easy to work with. I would recommend this business almost entirely as a result of the superior service she provided.

I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

I contacted three different companies through Yelp, but ultimately chose JFP Express because they were the only ones who provided an all-inclusive price with no hidden fees--unlike the other companies. I find it frustrating when businesses try to extract as much as they can from customers through various pretexts and dishonest practices. JFP Express, however, was honest and transparent from the start. Jason was very courteous and communicative, arranging everything seamlessly. When the team arrived, they were respectful, personable, and professional. The piano, along with everything else, was handled with the utmost care and attention. They were flexible with us as we had to reschedule due to weather, and had several complicated moves that were handled very well. As with any move, we took care ourselves to wrap things, communicate our needs and expectations, but I would do that with any mover. Ask questions, clarify and explain what you want. All furniture was wrapped carefully with moving blankets and secured and all breakables were treated with care. I've never seen a team of people work so hard!

They backed their truck into my retaining wall, immediately pissing off my neighbors before a single box was moved. They then showed up with half the crew promised, which should have been my first clue about what was coming next. What should have been a straightforward move from a 3-bedroom home took 13 hours, and they still couldn't finish--forcing them to come back the next morning, while I was under extreme pressure due to a pending home sale. With 18 hours to be out of my house, Zip used the situation to triple the price, leaving me completely cornered. At one point, the police showed up at my door to question one of the movers for 30 minutes. Later, they left a single worker alone for SIX HOURS to finish the job. Completely unprofessional and unsafe. Once my belongings were picked up, I received zero updates for six weeks. No proactive communication. No tracking. No accountability. I had to escalate through three different people just to get basic help or information. And when all was said and done, Zip did absolutely nothing to make it right--no refund, no meaningful apology, no remediation--other than claiming they fired the person who originally quoted me, which does nothing for the damage, stress, or financial harm they caused. This was easily one of the most stressful and mishandled service experiences I've ever had, at a time when reliability mattered most. That was a big mistake. This time I went right to Doyle. You get what you pay for, my friends. Ryan, the owner, was very responsive and we made an appointment to do a video walk-through of our condo. We did the walk-through, he asked a lot of questions and then he promptly sent an estimate. We have a lot of things so it took five guys and two trucks. The crew leader contacted me the day before to confirm the details and they showed up promptly the day of. They were incredibly friendly, fun, and energetic the entire time. And very polite. They treated all of our things very well and didn't have a problem moving any of the weird odds and ends we couldn't find a way to pack. When we arrived they put everything in the new house where we wanted it and even though we could tell they were suffering from the extreme heat and the weight and amount of our things, they never lagged or complained. They put the beds back together quickly and correctly as well as the dining room table. I'd be in hospital if I had to move all my stuff. At the end, the crew leader went over the paperwork, explained all the final charges line-by-line, and took payment. Very professional. We could not be happier. They were a great crew of guys. Though the reviews for A Best Twin Movers are mediocre, I went with them anyways because this was a last minute move for me. And Norman was incredibly professional and was happy to take on this move. The 2 movers arrived at the exact scheduled time and did a superb job with moving all of our items. What we were moving was equivalent to a 1bdr apt and going into a storage unit. They were very careful with all of the furniture and the fragile items. Norman even called the day before to confirm everything with me. They were speedy and cheap! Such a great price compared to other places I called. They don't charge for mileage or tack on driving fees, but do have a 3 hour minimum (which is nicely competitive though in comparison to other companies that have a 4 hour minimum). And when it was all said and done, I was charged exactly what I was quoted on the phone and quoted in my estimate (which btw, the estimate is very thorough and clear.) I definitely appreciate every aspect of this move, the professional customer service, the thorough and clear paperwork, and the efficiency of the movers; especially after having a recent bad experience with Travelstead, who tacked on insurance and driving fees in the end, and charged for a 4 hour minimum. I definitely recommend using Parkville Movers/Annapolis Best Twin Movers/A Best Twin Movers, or whatever they are calling themselves. As long as you speak with Norman/Noam the Relocation Consultant or the President, Isaac, you will be taken care of and in good hands.
