I mailed my ipod to them and they have not given me the diagnostic they claimed they would. They have been ignoring all emails requesting where it is. I think their business model is to send you boxes to send them Ipods which they don't return to you, but they repair and resell to others (see imods.com their affilate). Very dishonest. After having been out of the country for over a year with no contact, they "disposed" of my 64gb Zune HD. They did not attempt to ship the Zune back to it's original address. Nor did I received any money compensation for my loss of a treasured, discontinued item. While the no contact on my part is completely my fault, I find it hard to believe that a unit that fetches hundreds of dollars on Ebay with it's cult following, was simply thrown in the trash. "Sent in my working 120gb Zune for a new battery as the original 12 year old one was holding a charge less and less, with about 3 weeks of no contact after shipping my device i received an email stating that. "Unfortunately your device was found to have liquid damage. Due to the corrosive nature of liquid damage, it is unlikely that any repair performed would be successful for any extended period of time. Therefore, we regret to inform you that we are unable to repair your device." which seemed odd as i was not looking for a repair as i had sent a working device. So i called and they informed me that the battery replacement had been done and that the device no longer charged. So i guess A+ for attempting the battery replacement F for ability to do so without breaking your thing and B+ for having actual people to talk to and tell you your device is dead sorry not our fault it had water damage. My daughter dropped her phone back in January and shattered the screen. We google searched repair places and this came up first. We called them and they had her phone screen in stock. Brought it there at 1pm and it was ready by 6pm that same day. They offer a 90 day warranty which was GREAT!!! We started to have issues with lines appearing on the screen. Took it back within the 90 days and they were amazing to work with us and completely stood behind there work. Needless to say they replaced the screen again and it looks like new again. Going into a shop and saying you seriously messed up your phone and it's 100% your own fault can be a pretty mortifying experience. But the people I spoke to at Rapid Repair were so polite and understanding and no one laughed at me at all. Five stars for not being laughed at. I can be pretty klutzy. I was cleaning my car, and I somehow got Windex on my phone. I freaked out and wiped it off right away, but it seeped under the screen. The colors started looking really off after half an hour. Then the touchscreen stopped working reliably in certain areas. I stuck it in a bag of rice hoping it was just the moisture (and not, you know, the ammonia corroding its insides), and somehow got a piece of rice stuck into the lightning cable port. Ugh. So off to Rapid Repair I went. I had 24 hours before I was supposed to go on a trip, and they had no problem accommodating the rush request. My phone was fixed in three hours--like magic. Tip: if you work at Stryker, lead with "I work at Stryker." The two companies partner. read more

Sent my iPod Nano on 5/15/2019 to have the battery replaced. I inquired in June and July and August and was told that yes the repair should be finished and they would call back. I haven't heard from them nor did I receive the iPod Nano back. Maybe they lost the item and just won't admit to it. I would never consider this company again. read more

I purchased a large capacity replacement disk drive for my iPod back in June 2009. It was sold as a self-install item and included the necessary tools and instructions to do so. The instructions were clearly written. The tools worked as they should. The install worked without a hitch, taking only ten minutes or so. Almost three months later, the drive failed completely. I replaced it with the original disk and tucked it away thinking there was no way I was going to get a warranty replacement on a self-installed hard drive. I decided to try. After talking with a tech there and convincing them that I am competent with electronic devices they agreed to cover it under warranty. Better still, they agreed to do so even though the normal warranty period had elapsed. The drive was very expensive (~$300 for a 240GB model) and I was devastated when it failed. My iPod gets light use and is always in a protective cover. I was thrilled that they saved me from having to spend a significant amount of money to replace the drive or the iPod. A bit confused on the business model went on line filled out there form and sent it in after 3-4 days I received a email that they had gotten my iPod Nano 7. Well 3 1/2 weeks later no more news so I emailed them twice still no reply so I call and the young man on the phone was polite and helpful and told me they did not have access to the battery to replace it so after almost a month they are sending it back to me. After that I went on the web and and called 3 other companies and they all had the battery in stock so not sure if they would think I would forget and they would end up my unit not sure I still have not gotten it back yet to be updated. read more

If I could rate negative stars I would. Should be called slow repair and false commitments. Extremely disappointed in the horrible service we received and will never do business, nor recommend, ever. I dropped an iPad with a broken screen off for repair on Monday morning indicating it was urgent it be as soon as possible. I was informed it be $160 and completed by Wednesday since the part was in stock. After not hearing anything I stopped by on Thursday morning to find out it hasn't even been started yet and was told it could be done by Friday. I reiterated the urgency I stated when I first dropped it off and received excuses and no viable solution of it being done that day which was already beyond when promised. Fortunately a competitor was able to get it done the same day after wasting four days with Slowest Repair. Update: We were able to reach the owner who was extremely apologetic for the employee's behavior and said he would take care of it. It is unfortunate the acts of a single employee can provide such a negative view of a company and their services. read more

I cracked my screen for my iPhone 7 and took it in to Rapid Repair. Fast friendly service with same day repair offered. The repair itself looks clean, like new but unfortunately the color is slightly off. I am okay with the color, I can live with it. I am not sure if they use aftermarket parts but that would make sense. And the price was $150 which I think is way too high. read more

They had my unit for 3 months and did nothing. Every time I called they said "we only have one tech but should be about 2 weeks" the same excuse each time. The last time I called they asked if I wanted to have it returned. I said yes and then they said they were going to charge me $9.99 to sent this two ounce unit back. If they are that busy why, in this economy, don't they hire some employees. Take your business somewhere else. Rapid repair is a misnomer. read more

I was warned that it might not be reparable, they ultimately told me that it wasn't, but I wonder about the truth of any information from people who did not communicate honestly over a 6 month period. Terrible service. I ordered an item before christmas, with International postage, and it took OVER THREE MONTHS to arrive. When I emailed enquiring about compensation, they suddenly stopped replying to me. As for the item itself(iPod video case), it fitted well for the most part, but the replacement buttons leave a lot to be desired, and don't feel as good as they do compared to stock. read more

I had my screen on an iPhone 6 replaced, 2 months later I brought my phone back because the screen had fallen off because the retaining screws came out. At that time I noticed that the camera had dirt on the lens-poorly installed, and that the screen would not sit flush on the phone. I was told that they would not rebuild the phone to clean the camera(their mistake) and that the phone wouldn't have a completely flat screen because the frame was bent. The replaced the screws and sent me on my way.. I shrugged it off and moved on. A month or so later the screws fell out again, and as a result of the poorly installed screen my phone was dropped by a tolder and cracked right at the point the screen was raised... At this point I was so frustrated, I tried to replace it myself. I was not able to accomplish this. I took my phone in the next day to get repaired and the told me that more than a screen was broken and that they were refusing to fix it again and that I should simply just order a new one through my company IT department. Repeatedly telling me they not only refused to fix it, but also refused to sell me the correct parts so I could fx it myself. I needed my phone as I was leaving for vacation, I was able to locate a damaged phone with a working screen, I took the phones home and swapped out the screens myself.. And I sit her typing this review in an airport on the phone I was told was unfixable by Rapid Repair. It's also not bent.... As that was another lie to avoid fixing their previous mistakes Not only did they lie, they were lazy and unhelpful.. And clearly did not need my money. WOW. Do you self a favor and pitch whatever you are going to get fixed by this place in the garbage. Not worth your time. But if you got time and love listening to excuses, by all means this is your go to "electronic fix it shack". I had a zune half ass repaired by this shop, well that is after months of hassle, arguing, excuses out the Wazoo, and sending emails with no response back. I finally had to cancel the payment on my credit card. The "FIX" they did on my zune was complete B.S. I could not sync anything to it, the case came back dented, screen pixels not working, and the zune cable they provided did not work. They claim they fully tested the zune prior to going out, I sent multiple emails stating all the problems along screen shots of the issues. With no resposes back from OLD rapid repair I canceled the credit card payment. That is when all of a sudden they sprang to life and called me. OH, now you want your money. They whined to my credit card company, I received a statement of their wind bag made up claims from my Credit card. Anyways I sent it back, they got it to where I could sync to the zune, battery life sucks( paid for a new one), screen still missing pixels (didn't have that problem going in), case still dented. Should have tossed it, instead of having these clowns punch away in the lab at it. Probably some kid with a soldering iron sitting in a dorm room taking an electronic fix it class at the local community college. read more

I damaged My 4th generation ipod. The screen needed repairing so I went to ipodmods.com Their website is straightforward and easy to use and explains everything from prices and how long it should take to repair items of concern. From their web site ipodmods says it can repair your screen in 24 to 48hrs unless they have to order more parts. They also go on to say that they will inform you with a repair quote. I sent my ipod in and I got an email 3 days later saying they(ipodmods) received it. I waited 3 days and i got no response from them. I then emailed them and waited for a response. After two days nothing, not a word from them. I waited till after the weekend then called them the following Monday and was told that My ipod should ship later in the week or early in the next week for sure. I was upset because I needed my ipod for daily workouts for my clients at work. I finally got an email saying they shipped my ipod. It took them 2 and 1/2 weeks from begining to end to get my ipod back. The repair is good and the quality of repair seems right on and they did a good job with that but i only gave them 3 stars because they've got to do something with getting your ipod back to you sooner. If you have time to wait for your ipod this is a good place to go but if you really need your ipod fixed and back in your hands within a week then this company isn't it. Althogh they do have different screens and mods for your ipod just be prepared to wait. read more

I am a CompTIA A+ certified technician. Repairing computers is what I do. Back in January I was going to school and working from 9am to 9pm almost every day when my Zune stopped being recognized by Windows and randomly rebooting. I came across Rapid Repair while looking for Zune parts to perform a repair. They had everything you need, I was very impressed with their website. I saw that they offered repair services and with my schedule at the time I opted to go ahead and let them take care of it. I factory reset it my device and sent it in and didn't hear back from them for almost 3 months, after I reached out. They said it needed a new motherboard and battery and claimed humidity was the culprit. I thought that was odd since I live in the high desert of Utah and there is very little humidity here but I rolled with it. They also said it was DOA (dead on arrival) which I found strange, considering minutes before I put it into the shipping box and mailed it, I had it powered on to factory reset it. I paid them and they sent it back. It work for maybe a week before having the same symptoms before the repair. I was quite busy and the Zune wasn't my top priority so when I called back to get them to honor their 90 warranty about 60 days had already passed. But, since it was still within the 90 days they gladly took it back to have a look. So, once again I factory reset the device, meaning it was powered on as I placed it in the shipping box. Again, about 3 months passed before I reached out to them to get an update and it was deja vu. They claimed humidity had damaged the motherboard and it would need to be replaced but since it was humidity they would not honor their warranty and expected me to pay for it. They also claimed it was DOA. I again explained that I lived in Utah and there was little to no humidity here and it was powered on when I sent it, so it was absolutely not DOA. They offered me a discount, I countered that they could just sent me the parts I could do the repair, they counter offered a deeper discount, I told them to just sent me my unit back. I got my Zune back today and sure enough I was able to turn it on a few minutes after plugging it in but is still not recognized my Windows, thus it was never DOA as they claimed. So here I am, 10 months later and after paying them $215 to "repair" my Zune, and it's in the same state it was before sending it in. 1 star for Incompetent technicians for not knowing what DOA means, beyond extremely slow service and for not honoring their warranty. However, Jaron was very polite and professional, kudos to him for a job well done with handling a pretty upset me. For the record I grew up in Louisiana so I know what humidity is. read more

I would give a ZERO star but there is nothing lower. I STRONGLY discourage using this company and RECOMMEND you go elsewhere for any battery replacement service. I messed up my original zune attempting to change out the battery myself (it requires soldering and not just a simple plug and play). I ended up sending them my zune and they said my original zune was destroyed. I was willing to accept that since I made the mistake. I ordered a "refurbished" zune zune logic board replacement. The "reburbished" item was sent to me and the replacement zune connector was misaligned so it was impossible to insert the connector to sync my zune or recharge it. I have been inserting iPods, zunes, and countless other electronic devices hundreds of times and I KNOW the correct way to insert it. They accused me of breaking that product. I should have "recorded" the opening of the package and attempting to insert the Zune contact as "proof" that it was a pre-existing defect. I ended up taking a loss for that zune. Ever since my experience with Rapid Repair, I've been leery of sending any product for a battery replacement service. This company would be the LAST one I'd send it to. Otherwise, when you get yours back and the connector is broken, they'll just accuse you of breaking it yourself. Save yourself money and use a different service. If you are brave enough to use their service, I STRONGLY recommend you videotape the process. Tape yourself opening the package and trying to gently insert the connector. Then when it doesn't work, call customer service (while videotaping) as proof that it is a pre-existing defect. read more

Ordered zune battery from them, they had the correct Zune battery pictured on THEIR website and this is what I ordered. They sent the wrong battery and keep giving me the song and dance that it is the correct battery. Turns out they don't even stock the correct battery that they had listed. After showing them what picture they have on their OWN website they have now changed the picture. I'm still waiting for a refund, I have been in contact with customer service rep Ben Levy Multiple times with NO results. read more

After being told by Simply Mac that my burnt charging port on my Iphone was not fixable I brought it to Rapid Repair and my phone was back in my hands the same day for only about $70. After searching on line for a repair shop for my Gen 5 iPod, I found Rapid Repair. I went to their website and followed the instructions in regards to sending the iPod in to their shop. After hearing absolutely nothing from them for about two weeks, I called them to check on the status. I was told it was in the "queue" for diagnosis meaning they still hadn't looked at it. BTW, my 9 year old niece could have diagnosed the cracked screen in about 2 minutes, conservatively. I was also told they were backed up causing the delay. After another week, I received an e-mail telling me the screen was cracked and quoted a price for repair. I immediately responded to have them begin the repair process. I finally received the unit back with the repaired screen (apparently a good repair), the reason I'm even giving a 2-star rating. So from the time I sent it off to the time it was returned was about a month and a half - is this really considered a "Rapid Repair"? Judging from a previous review about 5 months before this one, this is not an isolated incident but an ongoing problem. Having worked in the business world for 20+ years, if you have a problem meeting customer demand, the business owner should have enough sense to hire additional competent people so that it shouldn't take a month and half to complete a 2 or 3 day job. If you have a music device that requires repair but you're not concerned about getting it back rapidly, by all means use this outfit, otherwise, look elsewhere. read more

Horrible business and service! Stay away from these guys. Do NOT do business with them! They have had my Ipod Classic since November and they still have not repaired it. I was quoted a price to completely repair it on 01/13/17. That price was not cheap but I was told it would cover replacing everything in the unit so that it would be like a brand new device. Today I received a call asking for double the price and no repairs have been made two months later. The new price is the same that brand new Ipods are selling for on Ebay. They will not respond to e-mails, only phone calls. I was told by the person I spoke to that, "We don't like to respond by e-mail, only by phone, so we can fully discuss what is required." They won't reply by e-mail because they don't want to put anything in writing for the consumer to be able to hold them to. The salesperson I spoke to sounded as if he is reading a script. His name is Jaron Raines. When asked specific questions about anything, he simply goes back to what sound like programmed responses. When I questioned him today, his first response was not to satisfy me as a frustrated consumer who trusted his business and waited five months for this, but to state "You don't have to follow through with the repairs." I have never dealt with a more disorganized, unprofessional business as this one. Rapid Repair? Really? Based on all of this I fully plan on leaving comments on as many sites as possible as well as contacting the Better Business Bureau. read more

Not happy at all. I had my i pod's motherboard fixed by Rapid Repair and had the same problem with it only a few days after the repair. Not to mention they erased all my music from the i pod without asking me if that was alright. I took it back and asked them to fix it again. They told me that they would check it out and get back with me by the next day...I ended up calling them a week later wondering what had happened. At this point they told me there was an issue with the motherboard again. I asked them how this could be and they said that corrosion was causing the issue. Since I had not subjected the i pod to anything remotely moist/wet, I argued that this could not be. They said that it was and offered me a discount because they felt bad about my situation. I continued to be persistent that I sent the i pod in and it came back damaged and that I shouldn't have to pay to get it fixed for the same problem again. The person on the phone said that he would talk to the manager and get back with me soon. Alright, finally I thought that the problem would be resolved. Nope, I waited another week and had to call them again asking them what is going on with my i pod. They said that there was nothing they could do and that I would have to pay for the fix...again. Very poor customer service, bad business, I would never recommend this company to anybody. Take it to an apple dealer where they will do it right the first time and not leave you hanging. read more
