I highly recommend these fellas. They did a great job fixing my plumbing problem. I had a pretty bad sewage back up in my bathroom toilet, sink, and tub. They found the cause and fixed it in no time. My house has pretty old piping. Not to mention, there was a one-way drainage tub previously installed that made it impossible to snake out any clogged issues indoors. They installed a two-way drainage pipe, which will make it a whole lot easier to unclog, in the event, my pipes become backed up again. What a GREAT TEAM they are. Rapid Action Rooter is an honest plumber. I've been in real estate and construction for over 25 years and I can tell you that finding an honest plumber isn't easy. But these guys are the real deal. I had a sewer back-up at my office in Marina del Rey and called them. Mandel scheduled a time, communicated with me during the day, and showed up on time! When he arrived, he was able to identify the problem and give me options for how to get our drain working again. He also gave us the option of fixing some plumbing pipes that were improperly installed by prior plumbers. He did a great job, had things running normal in no time, and charged us a very fair price. I was so impressed with his work that I asked him to look at a sewer line job that another plumber had finished for me a couple weeks earlier at a separate property. We had some lingering issues so I wanted a second opinion. Mandel stopped by on a Saturday with his camera and carefully walked my property manager and me through what the other plumbers had done incorrectly. 5 stars is an easy rating to give. I had an outdoor drain line that previous plumbers could not figure out to include recommending tearing up cement to change the clogged line. HOWEVER, Mandel and his team did not have the same issue. Within 15-20 min, they cleared the clogged line and fixed the issue. Beyond fixing the issue, this is a team (lead by Mandel) that truly cares about what they do. Mandel was responsive, communicative, and demonstrated a true caring about solving the issue vs. just "another job". More specifically, Mandel started this business when he was 19 years old and will work around the clock to serve his clients. Our sewer line started to back up so I got a few estimates to have it cleared via an external cleanout valve. Rapid Action was significantly less expensive (which should've been my 1st clue), so I opted to try them (they have 4.9 stars on Yelp so thought I was safe). After a few minutes running the snake, Mandel told me they're hitting something hard & impenetrable, probably our broken, collapsed sewer pipe & they need to send a camera down for an extra $250 to determine the problem. He said whatever is blocking things cannot be cleared w just a snake. When I said I wanted to call around for other camera prices, Mandel tried to convince me to call around while they waited ("to save a trip"). When I said I wasn't prepared to price-check at the moment, he warned me twice that the job they just completed wasn't guaranteed and that if the plumbing backs up again right away, I'd have to pay to snake again (when he began using typical salesman pressure tactics, that's when I was pretty sure things would back up again & that I had just wasted $180). Sure enough, it started to back up again the same day so after asking around for 1st person recommendations since I didn't want to pay someone else to come tell me we needed a camera (this wasn't the 1st time we'd been told we needed a camera unnecessarily & unfortunately the trustworthy plumber we used before wasn't avail this time). Fortunately, I found a plumber who was recommended by a friend, Wayne with Mr. Lowe's Low Rooter, who came out and was able to clear our sewer line with just his snake, no problems at all (and he even charged less to snake than Rapid Action!). The key lesson learned: Be very wary of salesmen disguised as plumbers. And if you want a honest, affordable, old-school plumber w integrity, call Wayne at Mr. Lowe's (323-313-9103). read more

There are lot of stellar reviews for Mandel but I didn't have a good experience with him. Our bath room sink was giving some bad odor and I suspected that it was due to some grime accumulated in the P-trap. (For some reason, the contractor used an accordion type flexible p-trap). I removed it easily, cleaned it thoroughly and when I put it back it was leaking at the joint. I tried several times but the same result. I thought I was not installing the trap properly so I called couple of plumbers and Mandel was able to come. He said it will be $150 for cleaning the drain. I said I did not need any drain cleaning and all I needed was to put the trap back. He said it was the wrong kind of trap and I will need a firm plastic trap which will require some new tube extensions etc. I asked him how much it costs, he said it costs $500. I said it is too much and asked him if he would put the old trap back. He said it will be $95. I know it will take only a few minutes to do that but we need to use the sink, so I said go ahead. He put it back but it leaked. He said it won't work and left. Next day another plumber came and used one extension tube and a plastic p-trap and he was out in 15 minutes. He charged me $70. I don't know what to think of that $500 estimate Mandel gave me. From many of the reviews here, he was supposed to be very capable and reasonable but it is hard to explain the $500. read more

I discovered that my toilets were not flushing and water overflowing to the tube and shower. After quickly skimming the Yelp reviews i called Mandel for service. They arrived within the hour on a Saturday with a crew. I showed them the cleanouts around the house. and they proceeded to use their hydro jet to clear out the blockage. Then they brought a camera to view the condition of the pipes (no additional cost). Everything seemed ok until i see roots in 4 different areas of the clay portion of the pipe at the front of the house. I already knew this was an issue before but never replaced the affected area. After viewing this and with two big palm trees in the front yard i asked for a quote. The quote was reasonable probably not the cheapest, but not ridicules. I went ahead and agreed to the work. The work included digging up to initial area affected about a 4'X4' and 4' deep. They prepped the pipe by clearing all the roots. Then they Shot about 12' of 4" liner and about 38' of 6" liner into the pipe to the street. They let it cure, double checked their work. Then they showed me the finished product. The liner conformed to the existing pipe like a glove. Once we were all good they repacked the dirt and pounded it in tight. I also received a 10 yr warranty. I can honestly say i have no remorse in spending this money. I feel I got every pennies worth. Know i dont have to worry about this again. read more

So it's Sunday night around 10pm and I have an early morning on Monday.
