Craving Indian cuisine that hits all the right notes? Rangoli Restaurant in Hanover, MD delivers an unforgettable dining experience with bold flavors, stunning presentation, and warm hospitality. Tucked near Arundel Mills and Live! Casino, this vibrant, family-friendly spot caters to both meat lovers and vegetarians. We sampled an incredible lineup that did not disappoint: Drinks: Island Drift, Kambochi Martini Food Highlights: Peshawari Naan, Bhindi Do Piazza, Hariyali Lamb Chops, Palak Paneer, Chilli Garlic Shrimp, Butter Chicken Dessert: Creamy, comforting Rice Pudding From the ambiance to the attentive staff, every detail was top-tier. If you're looking for a flavorful escape in Anne Arundel County, Rangoli needs to be on your list.

Service was great and food was delish. It is a bit pricey but you do get a decent amount of food. The pani puri, samosa chat, garlic naan, and Chana masala were mid, and I felt like they were lacking a bit flavor but it is still good. The chicken biryani and chicken vindaloo were really good (highly recommend)! Just be careful with the spice levels because it's actually spicy. We ordered the vindaloo super spicy and as people who enjoy eating spicy buldak noodles, we were sweating.

I recently ordered takeout at Rangoli twice. The first food experience was so good that I had to return. I ordered Butter Chicken with rice and Garlic Naan the first time and Salmon Tikka Masala, Shrimp Tikka Masala, Gobi Manchurian and Garlic Naan the second time. The food was outstanding both times. The salmon was fresh and plentiful in the dish, same with the shrimp dish. The sauces are always delightful. The rice was perfectly cooked to the point that it was still soft prior to reheating it the following day. The other dishes were noteworthy as well. The Garlic Naan was fresh and was a sizeable portion. We had enough food for lunch the next day. The ordering process was efficient and the food was ready at the stated time. The food was still piping hot when we got home. I have been perusing the menu for other things to try. This food has become a fast favorite.

Startlingly good! I don't usually review after one visit, but was much more impressed than I expected. A late-lunch stop, only a handful of tables, mostly going to the buffet- normally this is a restaurant's weakest time. But they turned out some of the most balanced, flavorful lamb dishes I've had in ANY area Indian restaurant. Rogan Josh with a "7" spiciness had a nice zing but integrated into the flavor rather than just "we dumped more cayenne on top". Yum. Similarly, my friend's Vindaloo was exactly on point, but without a spice specification it was made notably milder than typical, yet without losing any of the other spicing. Perfect execution on the kitchen's part. Garlic and regular naan were both fresh & delicious. Never trust an Indian restaurant that doesn't have great naan or great rice; those are foundational to the cuisine. The naan & rice say trust this one. The kicker- there's no lunch time bartender that I noticed, but somehow they produced two delicious cocktails that I'd be happy to have at any restaurant, and better than I've ever been served at any traditional Indian restaurant. Other thoughts: No idea what people are talking about w/ parking- there's an entire garage available plus the street parking. It's a huge restaurant and only one side was open for our ebb-time visit. Suburban South Asian restaurants are a mixed bag- a lot of them are good or good values, but only a few are "great". Based on my first experience, this is one of the best in the area. Reviewing in the hope they continue as they are. Definitely will be back.

This place has a wonderful, large buffet with many offerings. For appetizers pakora, samosas, naan, and dosas made to order right in front of you. Their mains such as tandoori chicken, curry goat, saag, briani, are also very tasty. I did not see any seafood the day I went though They also have a great selection of desserts, such as mango yogurt, keer, and masala tea. I'm sure that I forgot to mention so many other items. The service is absolutely impeccable. My server was very professional and kind. I do agree with another Yelper that parking is difficult at this location. Especially if you are on a time crunch for lunch hour. Overall this is a great place to go for good Indian food.

Oh my goodness!! Soo good!! All the food at the lunch buffet was delicious and I absolutely love their mango lassi! The dosa station is a great addition to their other dishes as well. I have also been here multiple times for dinner and it never seems to disappoint! Staff is always so attentive and helpful

Lunch buffet here on a weekend. Highly recommended for the price of $20. You get to try all the dishes and find something you like. I like the decor of Rangoli. The yellow walls, warm vibes, well-lit booths. Servers were attentive to your every need. The buffet area is sectioned off from the rest of the restaurant. Can't wait to go again for my next craving. Park in the parking structure next to the Arundel if theres no spots nearby.

I've been going to Rangoon for years and years now, probably since it opened up. But I never put my thoughts to how I felt about it. In short, the food is excellent, service is amazing, but the decor/settings could use some creative direction. We started with veg spring rolls and the veg momos. Spring rolls were usual and nothing too crazy there but oh were the momos surprising. Whatever the sauce they use for the glaze on the momos is out of this world. It was spicy yet flavorful enough to let the filling blend in nicely. The sauce was so good that we used the leftover as a dip for the spring rolls. I would come back again and again just to eat veg momos again. Main course's dum aloo was very forgetful. Credit to the server here though. However the paneer curry was good enough to save grace. Butter naan and Kashmiri naan were good as usual though the Kashmiri naan could have used more cashews and nuts over sweetness. The only issue I have with Rangoli is the setting but I can understand why they struggle here. Because they have a small area (not counting the empty side sitting room that is huge) they are confused as what to do during dinner service. They seem to have really nice ambient lighting and art pieces on the wall to hint at a calm atmosphere for dinner. But then there is usually a big TV running over the bar which is in the middle of everything so everyone can see it. If this place was completely casual/fast in and out type joint, that would be fine but because it's such a nice atmosphere, I just think they can do better with the music and tv screen during dinner service. I'm all for it during Happy Hours though. In all, I'm going to continue coming to Rangoli as long as their food quality remains at top like it has for past decade.

The owner's collection is really impressive and I'm already planning a trip back with my partner to explore more of the spirits. My friend and I ordered the half serving of fish curry, half serving of butter chicken, and veggie pakoras. Everything was delicious and came out quickly. The butter chicken wasn't like any other butter chicken I've had -- it was more rich in flavor and leaned more towards a tikka masala in my opinion but it was still good. It came with only one serving of rice for both orders so if you prefer more rice, order extra. It wasn't my favorite basmati rice I've had though. The service was extremely attentive and at times a bit suffocating. Once our food came out, we were checked on 5-6 times in a matter of 10 minutes all by different servers. After a certain point, we both got annoyed because we just wanted to have a conversation without being interrupted every 2 minutes. Waters were refilled any time even a small sip was taken. It seemed like the servers were bored and just trying to find something to do. But I would've much preferred our own server just stopping by once, so my friend and I could've enjoyed our time to catch up. Beyond that, the space is gorgeous with lots of fancy decor. We felt a bit underdressed actually. My friend and I both said how we'd love to come back for a nicer dinner and eat at the bar so service is more relaxed next time.

Not crowded for a Saturday and seated right away. They were pretty busy at least for delivery that it took a bit for our order but maybe because we were busy chatting and reminiscing. Couple of us had mango lassi sparkler - we enjoyed it and one ordered a non-alcoholic mango lassi and ended up not enjoying it - too yogurty for her. For the appetizer: chicken momo (dumpling) and samosa. Not bad! Main meal, I had the mixed platter which was very plentiful and flavorful, butter chicken mild and medium spice for two of the gals, and finally shrimp curry medium for the 4th gal. We highly recommended the very garlicky naan . The only negative I would say is that they were going to charge for extra sauce for my mixed platter. Ambiance was ok but a tad dark.

I loved the feature of being able to order online to really peruse the menu and order simultaneously. I ordered the paneer makhani as my main, the aloo paratha, gobi manchurian (one of my all time faves so had to try it here), and a mango lassi all in the hopes of making it last a few different meals. WOW did it deliver in that. They even threw in a rice pudding free of charge! The paneer makhani allowed for the selection of spice level, and I went pretty safe with the "medium" level. I do wish I would've gone a little spicier but the flavor was great and there was a lot of paneer in the dish. It came with a huge serving of rice, too. The gobi was INCREDIBLE. After such a long, really tough day, sitting down to eat some of this almost brought me to tears! Great spice level, tons of veggies, amazing flavor in the sauce. The aloo paratha also had a tasty flavor. I probably would've been just as happy with a garlic naan, however. The mango lassi had great flavor, with a little bit of the yogurt flavor still present-it wasn't too sweet at all so it was great to put in the fridge and drink the next morning! Overall an amazing meal. I wish I could come back JUST got the gobi manchurian, highly recommend!

Overall (2.25/5) - Rare that I have to give 2 stars but my experience was very below average…read more (Drinks 0.25/1) It started with the drinks. We ordered strawberry and chocolate milkshake along others but these two milkshakes were very watery and more like flavored skim milk than milkshake. My daughter pretty much left it untouched after trying a little bit so I took a sip and I agreed with her decision. (Food 1/3) For starters, we had the Dahi Puri, Aloo Tikki Chaat, Chili Paneer and Veg Hakka Noodles. To start with the good parts, the Chili Paneer was just okay. It was bit sour which alone would be fine but it was overly oily, and that theme continues rest of the meal. The veg Hakka noodles were super oily and bland. After sharing the noodles with the table, we were left with a bowl of oily liquid at the end. But it was still edible. I can't say the same about the potato tikki chaat we had. The tikki seemed raw from inside as I could taste flour along with the potato. It's a shame because the rest of the chaat was actually balanced well between sour and sweet. We ended up finishing just the Chhole and chaat mix and leaving the tikki alone. Rounding out the appetizers was the Dahi puri. I can say that it was not bad as rest of the apps. It had a spicy aftertaste which we didn't mind but the "meetha" part of the dish was lacking in it. For the main course with had the Patiala Paneer with Shahi Paneer and Bhaturas. The patiala paneer was actually alright and we enjoyed the broad flavor profile it carried. Individual marinated spices were coming through nicely onto the paneer and peppers. However, Shahi paneer was more like paneer bhurji. The paneer was all smashed and again filled with extra oil. I was expecting a nice Shahi smooth curry base along with perfectly textured paneer but what we got was more of double fried bhurji curry. Bhatura was decent, no comments there. (Decor 0.75/1) It's a shame that the food didn't match the great decor they had inside. There is plenty of space to even have a private party. They can do with some extra light though in the center, it looked weird to have just some lights. But the walls are nicely decorated with carved wood panels that pay homage to Indian historical sites. (Service 0.25/1) Another thing that was a bit different was that we were guided not to order certain things. But the recommended items instead weren't that great. For example, we initially asked for another app but was told that don't go for that, rather try the aloo tikki chaat which came out raw. Similarly I wanted to try Paneer Karhai but was guided to get the Shahi Paneer dish. If someone recommends me not to get something, I wouldn't order it for sure. Overall this place has lots of potential but it didn't hit the notes for me and my family. If they make some changes, I would like to give them another chance.
