Despite its convenient location, the park provides a peaceful and relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was interesting to see the restrooms locked at 11am on a Thursday. But despite that, the park promotes a well-maintained playground for children, complete with swings, slides, full court basketball, volleyball with net, wood chip playground, and a handball/wall ball court-- Rainbow! Adjacent to the playground is a large grassy area that is perfect for picnics and games. There are also several picnic tables and BBQ grills available for visitors to use. Whether you're looking for a relaxing day in the park, a fun-filled day of outdoor activities, or a game of handball/wallball or basketball, Gladstone Park has something for everyone. Despite its proximity to a busy main street, the park provides a peaceful and tranquil environment for visitors to enjoy. It is a great destination for families and groups in the Azusa area.

Prior to Hollenbeck Park getting renovated we would come to Covina Park. 4/5 Family Events The park does offer family events in the summer (movies, concerts, etc). We've taken the kids to a few movies. 4/5 Recreation Renovated playground gives the kids much needed play. There is a padded walking path near Badillo Ave. Always a lot of people playing fútbol or catch in the open areas. 2/5 Bathrooms Well you do have to worry about this thing Outdated and always smells like urine. A good powerwash could help. 4/5 Parking Street parking available all around. This park doesn't have a designated parking lot. 3.75/5 Likelihood to Return While it's no longer our go to park it's still nice to be able to walk on a spongy trail. I had a good experience at Palm View Park. I visited on a Saturday (around 3:27PM). This park is…read moreunique! There's a pretend airplane for kids; there's a small tropical playground where toddlers can run into a cat's mouth; and there's a lot of nets for climbing. This location is open from 5AM to 10PM. Did I feel safe? Yes. This park only had families with children. It's also one of the West Covina Parks that confidently post their rules. There's many signs labeled "Park Watch" to keep residents safe. What utilities? There's two main playgrounds. One play ground has an airplane that kids can climb into. That same playground has nets where they can freely climb; the floor is spongey foam, so they have a soft landing. The other playground is tropical and fenced. Toddlers can run near plastic trees, and there's a plastic cat with an open mouth where they can sprint through. The location also has a fenced baseball field; there's a public shaded patio with tables; and there's public park gym equipment equipped with umbrellas for shade. There's also a restroom and water fountains. What are the negatives? This location doesn't feel very pet friendly. I didn't see any pet waste bags, and there's not really a walking area. There's a possible concrete walking loop, but visitors will be walking on the sidewalk. Also, it lacks many common utilities (example: no basketball courts, no tennis courts, etc). Overall, Palm View Park squeaks into a 5 Star because it feels memorable for families. The playgrounds are very adorable, and I like how there's beautiful, big trees near the seating area. If searching for some interesting playgrounds, this is a good choice if already nearby. 4.5 out of 5

Most parks don't have enough shading which cause the slides to be super hot. This playground is covered with recycled tires which makes the play area cleaner than sand or wood chips. Also it's far away from the street so that your kids will not accidentally run away and potential get hurt. The volleyball court is covered with sand which makes the playing the game fun. There is ample picnic benches, trash cans and even BBQ grills. It appears you will need to make reservations to use the grill space. I only see a portable restroom so not sure about using that. Lastly, it's adjacent to an elementary school so I am sure it's busy before and after school. So probably beat time is after 4pm or on weekends.

4 stars I think…read morepeople with dogs (that like to run) will appreciate this park. It is pretty much a grassy field for the dogs to run around and play fetch in. Grounds are pretty even with the occasional hill here and there. As of April 2023, there doesn't seem to be missing patches of grass, but I'm not sure what it would look like during the summer. There are 2 baseball/kickball fields, but I've not seen anyone play. Behind a park is a school...not sure what school, but they have softball events from time-to-time. There are also basketball courts for people to use and I've noticed that it gets used frequently. There is a small jungle gym close to the parking lot for adults (and maybe kids). And the children's playgrounds look pretty nice. Parking is free, but pavement is very bumpy. I like that this park isn't surrounded by roads. Only one side faces the road.

There were regular patrol of all day long and not sure if this park used to have suspect ppl up in there but felt safer knowing they were around. Overall a nice quiet park.

Sprinklers over water and underwater so you have mushy grass and dry dirt patches. Code enforcement rolls thru occasionally only to insult people and take away personal property of the homeless. This is by far the worst park in Azusa but the most conveniently located within the city suburbs to which border an industrial area so it sees the most traffic. Visitors should beware of potential viral infections from dirtier members of the public who frequent this public park to enjoy its free electrical outlet access.

As a mom of 3 young boys, i frequent parks as a necessity for our sanity. here's a quick breakdown…read moreif you have a young family like ours. accessibility: if you want a quiet park with lots of running space go on a weekday in the morning or in the afternoon. the weeknights can be busy depending on the sports leagues that's playing, and weekends are generally more busy with leagues and families out to play. if you're taking a car it's definitely better to visit in the afternoon as the park doesn't have its own designated parking space and the street gets busy with the andres duarte school crowd. mom alert mode: this is my own level of awareness when i'm out with my kids. 1 being i can relax and kindof think my own thoughts, 10 being i have to watch the kids like a hawk. this park gets a 8. the playground unfortunately is close to the street, which can be busy with cars, and is also wedged by two big fields (the baseball fields + big grassy areas) so a lot of places kids can wander off to. the actual playground is also safe for kids above 3 years old, so walking toddlers like my one year old with no sense of danger or heights and no natural sense of balance need extra supervision. bathroom access: pretty easy, there's only one bathroom at the park. it's smaller but close to the playground, and is central to the other fields as well. the end

Anyways, I'm still giving this park five stars since the incident in question only happened once out of 100 times I've been there.... I owe it to everyone who has looked for a decent park in my park-poor area to tell them about about this fantastic park hidden in plain site (you can see it right off the freeway near Mt. Olive). The fields, because they don't normally allow football or soccer leagues, are quite possibly the best in the area. Strike that - they are the best. Man do our fields suck in Pasadena through Duarte.... Anyways, it is the site of my alternating weekly pickup soccer game, but I've noticed they've got a great playground, plenty of trees and shade, barbecue pits, fantastic ball-fields, in the summer and actual clean bathrooms... Now, clean bathrooms shouldn't be the thing that puts it over the top, but in reality 9.5 parks out of ten either have super tagged up, nasty gnarly bathrooms or the dreaded plastic outhouse of death known as the port-o-pottie. Since this does has neither, the park gets five stars...although they do on occasion run out of toilet paper. Hmm...maybe that explains the incident in question....
