Dalton park is beautifully kept and a fun place for small kids to enjoy the slides. It does however need some maintenance ASAP! While playing with my kids I noticed one of them hurt their hand going down the slide. They said their fingers were caught going down the slide. There is a metal part, on the side of the slide, that is hurting the kids. See pictures. Let's get this fixed soon. read more

The splash pad is still a fav spot of our now 2-year-old! Even on the hottest days, it never seems overcrowded. I do wish more than one side of it was shaded. It's so big that you have to really walk the perimeter when your kid is as young as mine and 3 sides of it have absolutely no shade. read more

I've recently discover this park and I am so glad I did! This splash pad has been the go to this past week for my 4yr old and I. It's clean and well taken care of and it keeps my daughter entertained for hours. There's several benches and tables to sit at. And every weekday during the summer from 12-1 there is free lunch for kids and snacks from 3-4. I think that is a fantastic program that could be really helpful for many families. The ice cream man does come every day just about 3:15, so beware lol. It would be even better if the regular playground was open, but still a great park nonetheless. The splash pad is open 7 days a week from 10-7 from May-September. read more

Dalton Park is a pretty swell park/playground located just south of the 210 at Armstead and Barranca. The weather was particularly warm on 2/6/16 when our family visited. We didn't want our toddlers playing in the splash pad with the bigger kids, but it was a neat feature. PROS - two playgrounds for smaller/bigger kids - splash pad (but you might have to show them how to get it started) - benches with shade - bbq grills - basketball courts - restrooms - little league baseball field - outdoor gym CONS - small parking lot if it gets crowded, although, I think you can park on the streets FYI The playground has the rubber surface instead mulch or sand. This could be good or bad depending on how you perceive it. For smaller kids, I would suggest you bring some jeans since the equipment gets fairly hot even in 80 degree weather and the surface might scrape their legs up a bit. Clean park. Nice layout. First time seeing this park Amazed me on how big it was and how many different attractions there were. But when we got there, it was awhile botha story. Everything looked old and worn out. The swings were making a loud squeaking sound, the ground mats were filthy, the water park was ragging and the park smelled like piss read more

My kids used to love this playground and splash pad. The park previously had very outdated material on the ground of the play area which allowed for rodents to hide underneath and kids tripping over the gaps. So they shut the park down for a few weeks and replaced it with mulch. I've seen many kids get hurt on the mulch as the wood chips are very sharp and splinter. I wish they would have placed poured rubber instead like every other renovated park to ensure the ground is safe for the kids. I now take the kids to the Covina park instead. read more

This park is 5 stars during the summer. They have a pretty good size splash pad for the kids, along with a good size playground, some workout stations and also a basketball court for the older kids. As an adult its easy to get sucked into the madness. If you want to be prepared these are the essentials you should bring; Sunblock Swim shorts Towels Snacks Food Sandals Water Extra pair of clothes There is one bathroom close by. Its not the greatest, but its not the dirtiest eithe. It is just very small with very little wiggle room. Not enough to change a toddler. The only downside to this park (could also be a good thing), its not near a freeway exit so it's not easy to access. There is a Mc Donalds within a mile or so however, along with a Jersey Mikes and other eateries nearby. read more

I really like the splash pad at this park. The play area is nice but I don't particularly like the 'rubber' floor they have. It feels like a grill when you step in there! I don't know what the benefits are vs. wood chips (this is probably to prevent debris at the splash pad). The outdoor gym seems nice but is not shaded, similarly the basketball court seems nice for an evening (at sunset or early morning). Great thing I found out today is that they have a free snack program for kids M-F 3pm to 4pm. Bathrooms are close by and plenty of parking at the parking lot or street. read more

The water in the splash pad leaves your littles stinking so bad! It smells moldy and old. So gross. The park area is extremely dangerous with holes and cracks in the rubber pads. Never going back here. read more

This park is great! The. splash pad can get a little crowded, but it's worth it on a hot day. Kids under three may feel a little intimidated by the buckets dropping water. It really is a rad place for kids four and up. I've been to other splash pads with my kids and the vibe at Dalton Park is very relaxed and welcoming. There are a decent number of families there on any given day. Currently (6/29/17), the splash pad is closed for repairs and maintenance. I called the park office and a woman couldn't give me a definite date for reopen. read more

This park has been revamped and includes awesome things such as: -Water splashy things that come out of the ground for kids to play in. -Awesomely LARGE playground for kids of all ages. (I love that in addition to a bunch of regular swings, there are also a good number of infant swings for my 10mo. old) -Playground has floor made of thick cushiony foam. -Outdoor fitness equipment. -A couple of basketball courts. -Softball diamond. -Picnic tables with bbq grills. Some bad things about this place: -Can get crowded at times, especially in the summer. -Most of the grass is either on the super sloping hill or next to the basketball court where you get pegged by runaway basketballs. So there are not that many good places to picnic with the baby. -The park is nice but the houses surrounding the park, not so much. So be prepared for teenagers bumping music and making out on their lawns, ghetto kids playing in the park unattended by parents and therefore messing with your child. Didn't happen to me since mine is too young to play in the playground but I noticed some of the other kids and their parents had to deal with grubby looking neighborhood children throwing other kids toys away into the trash, getting bucketfuls of water and pouring it down the slides, and other generally bullying behavior. read more

Nice park on the border of Glendora and Azusa. Two playground and a splash park make it my kids favorite. Splash hours are Thursday - Monday 12pm to 4pm. There's lots of shade, picnic benches, bbq bits, basketball courts and a fitness area with fitness equipment, oh and the bath rooms are reasonably clean with toilet paper and soap. read more

I've been to this park since I was little and it looks way better than it used to be when I was a kid. This park has always had plenty of benches, a sizable playground and jungle gym, swings, a baseball field and two basketball courts. You can either park on Barranca, Armstead or the small parking lot. The new attractions include the splash pad and a outdoor gym. The basketball courts are nice and are lighted very well. Because of this, it tends to get busy during the night. The outdoor gym is nice, but is not shaded, so it tends to get a bit hot during the summer. The splash pad is good for kids on a hot day instead of playing on the hot swings and jungle gym. Another good feature here is the plethora of picnic tables with BBQ grills. A couple of gripes about this park. The parking lot tends to get overcrowded, especially during the night when a lot of people play basketball. The restrooms could be a bit cleaner, but you shouldn't expect a spotless restroom at the park. Another thing I would like them to add is more water fountains around the park. Other than that, this is a solid park to chill, take your kids and play some basketball. read more

Playground is outdated and worn out. A slide is literally boarded up with wood. Kids are still still climbing up the slide. The water park closes and kids are still running around soaking wet wetting everything in sight. It's ridiculously lose to a Main Street and cars are speeding by. THIS PLACE HAS GONE DOWNHILL since I was little, there's just drug deals going on and older guys playing basketball aggressively right next to where the little children are supposed to play. And now they've taken the legendary castles that I used to climb in down, and now they've made it into some kind of water sprinkler play park. Just not the same anymore :( but I guess during the day on a hot day it would be fun. read more

Great quiet, little park. Went late afternoon on a summer weekday. It wasn't crowded. There were open tables and shady spots to pick from when we arrived. My kid had so much fun getting wet in the splash pad and drying off in the playground. I liked that there is a fence that separates the playground from the exercise equipment, as my kiddo kept asking if he could play with it. A bonus is that after a nice day at the park, you can swing by The Donut Man!! Mmm...donuts! read more

SPLASH PAD REVIEW** I went during the week so it was awesome because there were only 2 other toddlers. My little girl (14 months) LOVED it! There are nearby benches which make it easy to set up your lunch and to lay out your stuff. I left right when the school let out (its less than 1 block away) but I can see where the teenagers might be a nuisance...screaming, cussing, playing on the playground alongside little ones, etc. The splash pad is only open during the summer (duh) so go enjoy it! read more

Great park for gathering family and friends for a bbq. The park bbq's are alot bigger than most parks. It never gets real crowded. It doea get some people but never packed. The water park during the summer is a great place for the little ones to play in with benches next to it so you can watch your kid play and sit and relax. read more

The entire play structure and swings are in the beating sun 100% of the time. Today was a very mild 75 degree early summer day and we went early around 10:45. Within 30 minutes of arrival, the slides were so hot our almost 2 y/o son physically reacted every time he touched them. The park is in a very nice and quiet residential area. There's nothing but street parking, but the streets are wide and not busy. The grounds were very clean and well kept. The bathrooms even had soap AND paper towels - yay! Like others said, this structure is mostly appropriate for a toddler as young as ours. He even did ok on the winding slide. Some slides are so steep that he falls forward even though they're supposed to be geared at toddlers, but all 3 slides here were fine for him. However, the only way to get up are monkey bar-like stairs (skinny metal bars) that no toddler can safely use, then the other side has stairs. The stairs are way too far apart for a young one to do alone. He either had to crawl or we held his hands while he took giant steps lol. If you get bored at this park, there are 2 more within ~5 blocks or less heading west! They're off the same street, too. Just go to the north of the block north of the park and take a left and you'll see 2 others fairly quickly. We'll definitely be back because of how clean and safe it felt.

But, that said, only old Glendorans would be making that mistake and yet I hear folks of all ages add the 'd'. The park has lots of amenities we've used since our kids were born and even before... - summer concerts and movies in the park - birthday or event areas (Scouting) - playground - tennis court (other side taken by pickleball :( - skate park - sports fields - horseshoes - volleyball - community center And more. We love walking through the park on the way to the Village. If you haven't been, worth checking out pretty much any day of the week. So many fond memories created at Finkbiner. Requiring a waiver for a baby who isn't using the equipment just didn't make sense. The experience really depends on who's working that day. We've had visits where the staff was friendly, welcoming, and professional, and those visits were great. Unfortunately, most of the time we've encountered employees with poor attitudes who seem bothered by customers or like they don't enjoy their jobs. Kids Empire should make sure all employees are enforcing the same policies and provide better customer service training. Consistency and a friendly attitude would make a huge difference in the overall experience.

Keep in mind, there was no one at the front desk when we entered, so there wasn't even an opportunity to check in. Throughout the entire interaction, her attitude remained snobby and dismissive, and there was absolutely no reason for it. What really stood out was watching her interact with men who walked into the gym afterward. Her demeanor completely changed--she smiled, greeted them warmly, and spoke to them in a much friendlier tone. It was obvious that the level of customer service she gave them was very different from how she treated me. She also had me waiting on the couch even though the manager wasn't helping anyone at the time. My friend and I asked the manager about her behavior, and he agreed there was no reason for it and said he would speak with her. No guest should be made to feel unwelcome the moment they walk through the door. A receptionist sets the tone for the entire gym experience, and everyone deserves to be treated with the same respect, professionalism, and courtesy.

He loved the variety of activities and made so many new friends. He came home with fun stories each day. I loved that they offered a variety of options from 2 days/week to 5 days. We returned last summer and an unexpected and sudden medical event threw our summer for a loop. They were beyond kind and accommodating. Michael, the owner, personally made sure we were taken care of at a very scary time and was just incredibly kind and communicative. I can't thank him and his staff enough for the support. I would recommend this camp for any family. Its like a classic, old-school summer day camp experience!

My son attended Adventurewood camp for the first time this week. For the most part he enjoyed…read morehimself -- particularly the characters they introduce throughout the week. However, we decided to pull him out for next week because of a very disturbing situation. He shared that a counselor had pushed him with both hands on his shoulders during a capture the flag activity. He had dropped his flag and was putting it back on when a counselor (he didn't know her name) pushed him back hard enough to make him lose his balance and fall. She also barked "you need to reset!" She didn't ask if he was ok or help him up. You'd think if this was an accidental push and he fell over she would say something like "sorry bud are you ok? Here let me help you up" but nope, not a word. A friend he's attending camp with witnessed the whole incident. Since I pick them both up in the afternoons they both recounted this situation to me and both of them noted how inappropriate her behavior was. I immediately reached out to Michael, the owner of the camp. He said he wanted to identify this counselor and get her side of the story. Understandable. My son felt uncomfortable going back the next day but I reassured him it would be handled and offered to drop him off in the morning and stick around to talk to Michael and the counselor. I wanted him to feel safe. Michael identified her (her name is Carson) and said he wanted to talk to her first, which he did a few feet away from me. I heard her say she didn't push him. They then walked over to me and she again denied everything. So we asked both kids to come over and recount what happened. They both did -- in front of her -- and reiterated she pushed him. She denied even touching him. So Michael suggests at this point that perhaps it was an accident and my son responds by saying "how do you push someone like that by accident?!" No response. So I ask her, are you saying these kids are lying? She again said she didn't touch him and at this point we send the kids away. I'm incensed because not only does she gaslight both of them to their face but tells this bold faced lie to her boss in front of the campers and me. I tell her I believe them and I think she's the one lying. At this point she gives me this dirty look - angry, irritated and almost rolls her eyes at me. I turn to Michael and say "and now she's giving ME an attitude?!" Unbelievable. In a follow up call, he tells me how good of a person she is and that this is shocking for him to hear but that she doesn't seem like someone who would do something like this...that she's getting her teacher credentials and he knows her really well. I am getting the vibe he doesn't actually believe any of this and he sounds very skeptical. I respond by telling him that it's almost always surprising when people exhibit bad behavior and that even teachers do bad things...that doesn't make her any more credible in my eyes. He acknowledged that. In fact, it's worse because I would be really concerned to have someone like that teaching a kid. Lack of empathy, accountability, and integrity. I mean, I think it's great he's trying to have her back but there are moments in life when you need to draw a line and act swiftly...these are one of those moments. Because ultimately, this impacts the reputation of your camp. I told him that it would be good to offer training to his staff in case this ever happens again in the future and honestly he sounded baffled and asked me to clarify...I said well maybe tell your staff not to give dirty looks to a mom who's clearly upset that her son just got pushed by a grown adult at summer camp?? I told him that the response to this situation could've resulted in a totally different outcome. Had she said something like "I really don't recall pushing you but if I inadvertently did and made you feel bad I'm sorry - I didn't mean to do that" - I would've went home that morning feeling fine about the situation. When I told him this he said that he's not going to police all her reactions, that she's still young, that she's still learning and made all kinds of excuses for her. Exhausting. Apparently she got a "warning" and will sit out of the flag activity (umm, ok...). He seems like a smart guy and wish him nothing but success in the future and I was earnestly trying to offer advice for how to handle a situation like this better but it fell on deaf ears. I really hope that some kind of learning comes out of this for both of them. Oh and to top it off, my son's friend told her mom that Carson was giving her looks several times throughout the day today and when she asked what kind she said "side eye" looks. NOT COOL. My son also said she was kind of mean to him but wondering why they were even in close proximity when Michael said they'd absolutely be separated and would not see each other? Validates we both made the right choice by pulling them both out. He offered a refund but I'm still pissed about the situation.
