This park is always well maintained and clean. I used to bring my kids here for swimming lessons when they were toddlers, and the program was excellent. I've also attended a couple birthday parties here, and each visit brings back great memories. It's always nice to take a stroll down memory lane whenever I come back to this park.

Last week, I took my toddler to Cortez Park to play on the playground. Unfortunately, it is under construction, so I remembered seeing Covina Park with a new playground and took him there instead. The playground looks brand new and has a cushion walking area under the jungle gym equipment. There's lots of trees nearby, so you can get some shelter from the sun. The little guy played on both sets of equipment, which included slides, steering wheel, butterfly ladder, raised stepping stones (not stone though), and stairs. Overall, an excellent experience for him. The only reason we left early was because two classes of elementary students (I think 4-5 graders and most not wearing masks) took over the playground around 4pm or 4:30pm. My son isn't able to get vaccinated, so we left to protect him. Please see my photos. We'll be back though. Xie Xie!

I really love this park and have been bring my kids for 4 years now. They see a lot of their friends from school here which is a plus. This is also a community center that has art classes for children and swim lessons. They also have a small track where people walk day and night. A few little workout areas where you can go and do your thang. There is also ping pong tables and a little runner course like a jungle gym. They also have a basketball court. On the weekends the parks are full of people having birthday parties and weekdays are less people. Sometimes children are unsupervised which is sad. I will continue to come to this park

Great place to take a stroll in Covina. Park has had a facelift. Great walking and bike trail. It's cushioned too. Lots of exercise machines to work out. Plenty of parking. Lot of furry little friends walking around. Only thing was I smelled a lot of crap. Not sure if it was human or animal crap. Yikes! Watch your step!

First time walking the trail since they opened up the new walking trail. I love that it's no longer a dirt path. They added exercise equipment that are inclusive to all. Nice park to go visit for a walk. They have a softball field, tennis courts, basketball courts and more.

There were several homeless people camped just outside the restrooms, so there was that. Also, the men's restroom was a total mess. The playground was fine, though. There are two playgrounds here, with different playground equipment to choose from. My kids had a good time sliding down the slides and playing pretend in the little houses. There are a couple of benches to sit on, and there are lots of shady places in the grass to relax on and cool off. For a fee, you can swim at the public pool, which was open while we were there.

My new sneakers arrived and I decided to break them in during a recent visit to Covina Park. CP has changed a lot since I last visited and I was pleasantly impressed. CP is big and encompasses an entire block. I love the latest improvements because they enhance the local city park experience. The newer improvements include new exercise equipment stations dotted around the park. They provide a free healthy workout and I do recommend bringing sanitizer, gloves, towels, and wipes to clean the your hands and equipment before using. The park's ambiance is overall friendly and clean. The park has some interesting history, which I was unaware about. There's a dedication plaque dated 1930 on a building attached to the park. There's plenty to do here or enjoy: picnic tables, walking/running paths, exercise equipment, basketball and tennis courts, kid's playground area, benches, dog area, free parking, shady trees, grass areas, clean public restrooms, swimming/an aquatic center, horse shoe area, and more. Covina Park is a Five Star experience.

Ask the Community - Covina Park

If I wanted to practice with friends (adults) on that mini field they have, is it first come first serve? I never see any teams playing there on Saturday mornings.

Is the pool free and public?

No, there is a nominal fee to cover expenses

How much distamce is the trak and also the distance on the sidewalk?

According to my pedometer today, the dirt track is about 0.2 miles per lap.

It's pretty calm, quiet and serene due to the low traffic which is at end of a cul da sac. The park has a few hiking trails trail called the Dalton Wash Trail and the Toyon trail which are simple, but at the same time fun. The playground looks pretty new and in good condition. I love how it's covered with rubber materials as cushion as opposed to sand and wood chips. It's cleaner on the kids and safer if they fall. The dog park is also in good condition with shading, seating and a small obstacle course it (sections separated for small and large dogs). There is also lots of natural shading due to the large trees with picnic benches. Additionally, there are also a restrooms on site with a water fountain. Everything about the park is great because it has everything you need within a small space.

There are lots of deviating paths, but you don't get lost here as most side paths are just viewpoints that end rather quickly. I went here with my mountain bike starting from the eastern side of High Country Drive entrance (taking Hunters Trail road). I recommend entering this side as it's easier to go uphill on cement and do most downhill towards the exit of Bonnie Cove Drive. Amazing views at many points of the trail. Some parts, you'll hear the deafening 210 freeway and electric clicks of the overhanging ropes from electric towers. Other areas, you'll be shielded and it'll seem like you're no longer in a city. NOTE: the trail of Bonnie Cove is a little overgrown from the rain, so you'll smack into a lot of tall grasses and it's only like 1.5 ft wide now. Totally fun if you don't mind it. Lots of others are also overthrown, but I don't remember if they had names.
