You would have thought we were royalty the way she took care of us. She took the time to get to know us and what we wanted for the reception and that we were happy throughout the process. On top of that, the price was amazing. We looked at several venues, but no one included all that Jennifer's Garden included for the price. Most places nickel and dime you for everything but not here. Of course you can upgrade some of the choices, but even the premium choices were reasonable. The only outside vendors we had to secure were the photographer and the DJ. On the day of the event, everything was set up exactly like we had planned. The food was OUTSTANDING. The Cake was incredible... and every part of the event went off without a hitch. At the end of the evening, the crew even boxed up all of the gifts and leftover food/cake so it took us 10 minutes to clean up. If you are looking for an amazing place to hold an event, you can't go wrong at Jennifer's Garden!

Several of our invited guests were refused entry, and when I offered to pay for the additional attendees on the spot (these guests had not RSVP'd and were not included in the original count), the owners declined the payment and continued to keep people waiting outside--or turned them away entirely. Their explanation was that the venue had reached capacity, but this simply wasn't true. We were informed beforehand that the building's capacity was at least 70 people more than the number in attendance. Even with payment in hand, the staff acted as though the situation was beyond their control, which came across as both unprofessional and unreasonable.... it was strange. After investing over 20K into this event, it was humiliating to have to PLEAD for our guests to be allowed in. The entire situation completely ruined the night. If you're considering booking this venue, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for a location that is more accommodating, and capable of handling unexpected situations with professionalism and respect. To top it off....When we left that night, we were told everything was settled and that our balance was fully paid. However, when I followed up a week later to request the return of our $500 deposit, I was suddenly told that we still had an outstanding balance. The inconsistency and lack of transparency were extremely frustrating -- trust me, save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.

The ballroom was absolutely gorgeous, and I'm sure the photos are amazing. But it was soooooo loud inside. I couldn't hear any of the ceremony at all. None of it. And we were in the middle of the room. I think only the first few rows could hear. The food was delicious. The passed hors d'oeuvres were great. Dinner was tasty, so was the cake. I don't know if they made it all, or if it was catered by someone else. The bartenders were quick, and I never had to wait long for a drink. All of the drinks were quite tasty. The balcony was incredible. Too bad there really wasn't much to look at outside. All of this makes it very hard for me to decide how I feel about the Joliet Grand Ballroom. I would have liked to be able to hear the ceremony, and walking through the train station was a little odd, but the space is incredible.

The arrival area has a lovely hacienda feel with a lovely fountain outdoor. There is a lovely outdoor patio on one side of the building with outdoor seating and fireplaces. There is also a deck on the opposite side with wooden cocktail tables to mingle and socialize. In the main building there are three different areas. The first area is a smaller casual hall that opens up onto the patio with fireplaces (which was very necessary as the temps outside turn chilly). This was the place where the service before the party was held with family and friends. This space was also used for the buffet dinner and desserts. After the service, we adjourned to the other side of the building that contains the stables for the property's horses. We had a cocktail reception in the stables and were able to make use of the outdoor patio. The main event hall is very large and easily can accommodate a large party of 200+. It is very sizable and there was ample room for a dance floor and a long head table. There is a large stage in front and things were beautifully decorated for the event. Everything looked so beautiful. Gorgeous option for parties, weddings, and corporate functions.

Tickets were $5, super affordable and there was no long line of waiting for your photo. It was organized well so that you received a number at the beginning, went to the main room to enjoy crafts and cookies and then had your number called when it was your turn! We have also attended the fall festival which is free and SO much fun. Horses, food trucks, children's theater, we love it! Beautiful place to walk around and I'm looking forward to future events here!

They have both indoor and outdoor spaces that could be adapted for a variety of event types. The wedding was held on the lawn and it was comfortable and perfect for this crowd, although it could have held twice as many people. The staff was kind, thoughtful, and efficient and the catering staff, in particular were fantastic. Mark and Marissa at the bar were excellent bartenders and both were friendly and efficient. A beautiful space with friendly and capable staff and a spectacular experience.
