I enjoyed our wedding at The Farmhouse greatly. There were a lot of wonderful parts about our day, but there were a few things I would be aware of in advance to anyone considering this venue. Firstly, reading through some of the reviews, I think many guests have bad experiences not because of the venue, but because of the vendors that the couples select. This is one thing about the venue that you should be aware of in advance: they provide you a venue with facilities for the full day including ample getting ready spaces, and full access to the property. You as a coupe hire your vendors separately. The Farmhouse provides you with a preferred vendor list and the platinum package list. We selected their platinum package vendors because 1) I didn't want to vet any vendors and 2) we got a discount with those vendors AND the venue if we did. As far as the vendors are concerned, I will leave more detailed reviews on their own pages, but for the purposes of anyone considering the platinum package at The Farmhouse, I would say it was generally a good experience. Here is a quick breakdown: -Eight Hands Photography - Great vendor with lovely photos. Our head photographer did not seem well prepared and didn't provide us with a huge variety of group photo ideas. You'll want to have ideas in mind otherwise they will go basic. -DJ JPW - fantastic DJ. 100/10. Absolute best wedding DJ I could have hoped for. -Goddess Effect Beauty - I was not pleased with her system of payments nor the clarity of communication. I'm not sure if the communication is purposefully unclear or if she is not a clear person, but she messaged me the morning of the wedding that I owed $1500 when I really owed $500. It made the entire morning incredibly awkward and I cannot say I enjoyed the experience once that happened. -Stems and Petals - Great flowers for very reasonable! Flowers themselves looked a bit damaged (bruised roses), but they truly were a steal compared to other florists! She was also VERY pleasant to work with! Great experience -SIP Bar Service and Prestige Liquor - Excellent, top notch bar tenders. Great service and they packed everything away. Marissa at SIP was fantastic with our planning. For Prestige, check your quote and ensure it's accurate because he did mistakenly add 20 bottles of champagne but Gary fixed that issue quickly and professionally! -Noteable Catering - People loved the food. I thought they were good people to work with and generally okay. Nothing super out of the park. I did hate that we did the buffet stations and guests had to walk through the kitchens. That was weird, but not really their fault. We also knew that going in! The layout and space- This venue was BEAUTIFUL. I was so thrilled with all of the flowers, landscape details, and fire pits. One thing we wanted in a venue was outdoor spaces for people that don't dance. We had board games and cards set outside for our guests to enjoy if they didn't enjoy music and it felt so lovely to give ALL guests a place to enjoy. One thing that was frustrating was that announcements couldn't be heard outside. They need an outdoor PA system so that guests can hear when the late night snack is up! That would be so helpful and make the guest experience better. Finally, I really loved the getting ready spaces. It was so nice to be able to relax with everyone in the spaces. My flower girl needed a nap earlier in the day so having a place where she could go with her parents and relax was instrumental to having her happy and smiling! Day of Coordinator - This was a great decision for us to do, and I'm happy we did it. I will say that Hailey was incredibly helpful and ensured things ran smoothly. Honestly, huge shout out to her for getting us drinks right after the ceremony for us to immediately celebrate! She was kind, thoughtful, and calm! Our stuff was set up beautifully, but I did have to make some adjustments (that's because I'm a perfectionist not because they did anything wrong). I wish that they acted a bit more type A to be honest. You want a person in that position to be an absolute perfectionist: asking clarifying questions during planning meetings, taking ownership, thinking ahead with potential issues. Seemed like they were very passive. Not a bad thing especially when balancing nervous brides, but I would have loved more energy and enthusiasm during planning. It almost seemed like I had to lead the meetings and all the prep. Our stuff was packed up poorly after the wedding: puzzle pieces dumped in a box, broken glass, etc. The owner gave a weird impression to my parents (I never met him) but it seemed that he wasn't a very nice person and was bad mouthing Hailey to my parents. I think that's unprofessional since she did a great job. Overall experience - I would say I absolutely had the best time of my life, but I would recommend doing research before selecting the venue. Just attended a wedding and reception at the Farmhouse and it was stunning. They have a truly full-service facility that would be perfect for any event. They have both indoor and outdoor spaces that could be adapted for a variety of event types. The wedding was held on the lawn and it was comfortable and perfect for this crowd, although it could have held twice as many people. The staff was kind, thoughtful, and efficient and the catering staff, in particular were fantastic. Mark and Marissa at the bar were excellent bartenders and both were friendly and efficient. A beautiful space with friendly and capable staff and a spectacular experience. read more

We just hosted a baby shower for my daughter. She was married at The Farmhouse 7 years ago.. so it was a full circle experience and absolutely stunnning. Lisa found some large pictures of the wedding that they had and unexpectedly bought them out for us... it brought tears to my eyes and we put them into our decor... Thank You!! The space is stunning and I love that you can bring your own style into the space, which for us is very similar to The Farmhouse. The staff was great and friendly and truly had a great experience all around. Thank You to the entire group here at The Farmhouse. My husband and I just got married here January 3, 2026 - The Farmhouse in Plainfield is nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we knew this was the place--and from start to finish, it exceeded every expectation. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, with so much natural beauty and charm that it barely needs any extra touches. The entire staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout the planning process and on the wedding day itself. Early on, my mom and I met the owner, Glen, during our tasting with SIP. He was so genuine and kind, and even took time out of his landscaping work to talk with us about our wedding. That moment alone spoke volumes about the care and pride behind this venue. We worked with several team members throughout the process, and every single one was wonderful. Hailey and Alex were both amazing and so helpful along the way. The rehearsal was run flawlessly, making us feel completely confident heading into the big day. On the morning of the wedding, Lisa was incredibly kind and supportive, helping get everything ready and set up with such calm professionalism. And Hailey--words truly cannot express how thankful we are for her. She was an absolutely AMAZING day-of coordinator and played such a huge role in making our wedding day everything we dreamed of and more. Everything ran seamlessly, every setup was perfectly executed, and by the end of the night, everything was already packed up and ready to go. Because of her, we were able to fully relax and enjoy every single moment. We are so blessed and thankful that we chose The Farmhouse as our wedding venue. We felt it was right from the very beginning, and by the end of our wedding day, it had never let us down once. We got married here about 4 years ago. The owners and coordinators are super nice and friendly and excite you with empty promises to get you to book, then everything falls flat. We booked over a year out from our wedding date with the promise of their lawn arch being completed before our wedding date. We purposely would drop off payments in person to see the progress. Day of our rehearsal we were told they still, obviously, haven't started that arch and we were stuck getting married in front of the ugly fireplace. Paid extra for a day of coordinator that did literally nothing. I still had to walk out and find our vendors and do the work myself. For the price you pay, the flashy venue isn't worth it. read more

I attended a wedding here in October. The set-up is so awkward. We had to walk through the kitchen, past the staff washing dishes, to get to the buffet line. It was crowded and odd. I don't understand the fascination with this place. There's all these weird little houses on the property. The bride never knew where the guests were because everyone was all spread out. A coffee truck came at like 10:00 (which was super cute!) but no one knew it was there. Everyone was in different places and couldn't hear the DJ's announcements. This place has a short shelf-life. On another note, the owner is CREEPY! He dresses very strangely and interacts with the guests like it's his own wedding. Very, very weird place. read more

Any brides considering this venue. Confirm with them your potential wedding date/dates are available before you go. Booked and confirmed our tour appointment, showed up only to be told they had no dates available. When initially booking our tour we were asked what date we were looking for. At no time did she mention that the entire month of the date I gave her was booked. Thank goodness we live in the area. I cannot imagine driving any distance just to walk in the door and be told "sorry we're booked pretty much the rest of this year and next year for the month of the date you wanted, how's 2027?". Attention to detail goes a long way. A simple phone call or email stating the date/dates we were hoping for have filled up, this would have saved us from wasting our time and yours. read more

I was at a wedding here recently and I've never felt so disrespected as a guest. Venue employees were rude and demeaning; I asked one employee where the bathroom was and they just shrugged at me. I heard an employee snap at another guest who accidentally dropped and broke a plate. The music at cocktail hour was cut off early and I heard the owner or manager yelling at the performer that her time was up. I felt so bad for my friends who were getting married, they looked miserable that their guests were being treated so poorly. Do not book here. read more

The Farmhouse is a very pretty place to have your party. Why my one star only? Right after dinner my table was taken away and we were told to sit in the hallway on couches for the dancing part. WHAT!?!?! The lady was very rude and said we need this space for more dance floor room. It took 20 minutes of discussing loudly with her to have a manager come over finally figure out where they could set up another table so we could be included in the rest of the wedding party festivities. This was very unprofessional of them to have this disruption for the dinner guests to be watching us instead of watching the ceremony of the cutting of the cake and listening to the speeches. Overly priced and the price has gone up since our wedding. They are very nice to get you to book than the day of your wedding they don't care what was agreed upon. I see nothings changed over the years with reviews and it's sad. When we talk about our wedding we think about how poorly we were treated but luckly our DJs and servers that we paid worked extra hard to make our day special. read more

I inquired about having a sweet 16 at this venue and was disappointed to receive an email from Hailey, the event coordinator, stating they could not accommodate us. She did not elaborate why that was. Nor did she ask any details on how small or large our party would be. I followed up by asking if this venue only accommodates weddings and never received a reply. Which I thought was rude and poor customer service. Good thing we found another "wedding" venue that is willing to accommodate us. read more
