WOW! I was blown away, this is such a beautiful venue! I attended a good friends wedding last month (December) and was left with warm lovely memories. It was an extremely snowy cold day, we pulled up to the Danada House and the valet took our car and parked it. The Danada House is located right outside the Danada Forrest Preserve. When we came in I noticed the traditional American decor, (imagine something in the likes of Ralph Lauren polo house). This was totally up my alley I walked around and noticed some equestrian trophies (uggh I LOVE horses!!). The house had an upstairs where the bridal party was getting ready. We mingled a bit and then proceeded to walk down through a hallway that took us to another building where the wedding was about to take place. We watched the ceremony (I admit I cried). We walked out the room and down the hall back into the house and had horderves and drinks while we waited for the reception. The building in which the ceremony took place was now set up for the reception. There was plenty of space for dancing, a photo booth and lots of tables. Although it was winter the bridal party was able to take photos with the horses, the pictures turned out gorgeous. This wedding was an absolute dream wedding. If I ever got married this place is it! What's not to love? Horses, traditional American venue and scenic surrounding anytime of the year!

The Danada House was our dream-wedding venue. We looked at it over a year and half in advance and were disappointed to learn that there were not any openings until over two years later for a Saturday. Being a teacher, it was important to me to get married in the summer. I inquired many times about cancellations until finally we got a call from Jill telling us that there was an opening in July. The only problem was, we had already put down a deposit on another venue. We decided to just cut our losses and book the Danada House anyway. I am honestly so happy we did because it ended up being the most GORGEOUS wedding venue I could have ever imagined. Everything about this venue was perfect for our wedding. What I especially loved was how beautiful the Danada House gardens were for our wedding pictures. It is just such a breathtaking venue and I heard throughout the night from guests, "Wow this place is beautiful!" In addition to the venue itself, I found the staff at the Danada House helpful and friendly. We had the best wedding day and are so thankful we were able to have our wedding at Danada House.

We chose Danada House for our wedding in Nov 2017. It was really easy and hassle-free working with Jill. She was responsive to our phone calls and answered all of our questions promptly. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. We had a nighttime ceremony and brought some flood lights to help with the lighting. There are a lot of easily accessible outlets by the trellis area which simplified the setup. The house has a lot of charm and decorations for guests to look at, and the atrium is a beautiful, clean canvas that can be transformed to match any vision.

While the MAC hosts a wide range of cultural programming year-round, what has drawn us back time and again, now three times, are their exceptional, large-scale art exhibitions, presented every two years. The most recent of these is the 2025 exhibition Hokusai and Ukiyo-e: The Floating World (on view from May 31 to September 21). This immersive experience transports visitors to the lively and refined world of 17th-century Edo-period Japan. The exhibit vividly captures a time when Edo (present-day Tokyo) thrived as the cultural and economic heart of the nation, defined by its devotion to the arts, nature, and the pleasures of daily life. A highlight of the exhibition is the U.S. debut of the Museum Galleries - Chiossone Collection, featuring a remarkable 70-piece selection of ukiyo-e masterpieces. Among these are 53 original paintings and woodblock prints by renowned artists such as Hokusai and Hiroshige, alongside 17 beautifully crafted objects. Together, they offer a captivating window into Japan's "floating world." The MAC consistently excels in delivering these world-class exhibitions. The experience is not only visually stunning but also engaging and educational. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable, and always ready to enhance your visit. Last, but not the least, there is a very nice gift shop there. We bought some cute Japanese noodles and rice bowls with the "floating world" art theme from the gift shop. Attending an art exhibition there is truly a joy, and we look forward to each new one.

Was finally able to find it by searching McAninch Arts Center (MAC). The exhibit is cool, loved the eki (train station) stamps for the passport you're given. I wasn't expecting much and it lived up to expectations. After experiencing it do I think it was worth the $27/per person admission? Not for me. But it's still cool and definitely worth a visit if you're an art enthusiast.

Some of our favorite trails are on the east side, but we have so much more the explore! They have a variety of events that are included with admission as well as events that require an additional purchase. There is a small café that sells drinks and small bites. I have tried a few different lattes and they were good. They also have a restaurant and their food always smells delicious, but I have yet to try anything from there. The restaurant itself has a beautiful view of their lake. I definitely recommend a membership if you live nearby and plan to visit multiple times a year. Another great benefit of the membership is the reciprocity to other gardens throughout the country. A great value!

Despite the fact it was cold outside, we enjoyed the various light installations, especially with the freshly fallen snow to set the mood. I didn't take as many pictures this time, I was too busy enjoying the lights - the lantern section this year was my favorite! They do a great job with making sure the path is cleared and there are places you can step off of it so you're out of the way if you want to take pictures or just want to be by an installation for a while. You can't get lost, they have signs and people posted to help make sure foot traffic keeps moving in one direction. I think the cost is fair, if you're a member it's a bit cheaper, but we are not. Giving it 4/5 stars for this last experience because there were supposed to be fire pits along the path but there were none this time, just one heated tent that was packed, so we didn't have another way to warm up a bit during the mile long walk. I do look forward to going again next year!

The Asiago pasta with sun dried tomatoes was popular and went fast. The salad and fruit were fresh, and the sandwiches and pin wheels were delicious. The cheesy eggs were fluffy and the bacon and sausage were crispy and juicy! The yogurt parfait reminded me of what McDonald's use to have, but better. The dessert table had an assortment of cookies, dessert loaves, brownies, kolaches, and chocolates. The staff was wonderful and attentive. Promptly cleared our plates once we were done, as well as a making sure the buffet was in order. I'd come back here and dine at the restaurant for brunch with the girls.
