I was never going to speak up, but after reading some reviews I think I need to. I got an amazing dog from here, but not until I got very angry and threatened to go to a breeder. They HEAVILY discriminate against people that live in apartments. They don't seem to understand that people in apartments might take their dogs more places. My dog Lyla (previously Lyra) walks miles a day and meets new dogs all over our apartment complex. I argue her life is better than a dog that just sits in the same yard, or gets let out in the same back yard all the time. Bottom line they told me things like "maybe you should get an old dog..." Afterwards the calls and emails felt more like a parent checking up on me. So if you are feeling judged, just tell them you are going to a breeder since apparently all the dogs are taken and this stray dog thing isn't an issue any more.

We adopted our first dog here, unexpectedly with no expectations. We were only browsing around didn't humane society starting at Oceanside, Carlsbad and ended up at RCHS. Rancho has many dogs available for adoption. We came in and browsed around. Overlooked our soon to be dog because she was just so hairy and we couldn't really see passed the long curly hair. We wanted another dog but after an interview and our application they said we were not a good fit for our first choice due to separation anxiety. They did however gave us alternatives for other dogs. We browsed around again for their suggestions and saw the white curly hair dog. Second in line and they told us they'll call us the next morning if the first person does not want her. And somehow we got so lucky that the first person didn't want her and ended up with our new loving maltipoo dog. I like that the process is a bit strict- they don't let you adopt any dog. You have to match with the dog. Which shows me that they really care about making the dog happy. I'm glad that they do that. They also provide follow up calls and emails and suggestions after the adoption. They help you integrate into each other's lives. One thing they can improve is telling you about what you should do after you adopt. First thing they should tell you is get your dog on flea meds, and get all her shots updated. We learned the hard way and delayed those until 3 weeks and suffer some unwanted circumstances. We are happy with RCHS! We adopted our first dog. We're totally in love! And will come for our second dog once we buy a house!

I've wanted a dog for a while. It's so hard to find the right dog. I went here just to look at dogs and met the most precious animal. I decided to do a meet and greet and an interview. They provided me with medical records and a full background on the dog. Then we went through with the interview to find the perfect match. Luckily it was the dog I was eyeing. A week later adopted him and it's been the best days of my life. He is absolutely perfect. Thank you for helping me find pine (now Marty) and his funny behavior and snuggles

I had found Moon, then named Victoria, on AdoptAPet.com, and they had a thorough story about her background and personality, which was one of my favorite parts when looking for my first cat. Once I was ready to set up a meet and greet I was contacted via text (which was very convenient) by Carol, and we found the perfect time. When I got there, I immediately fell in love with Moon and got positive feedback from Carol and another volunteer that she was a good fit. After completing the paperwork she walked me through the store to get the rest of what I needed (mainly the food she was eating and some toys), got Moon the carrier, and off we went. Carol stayed in contact with me answering any questions over text, and I happily provided pictures in return which were forwarded to Moon's foster family (I was informed the organization is entirely volunteer-run, so they just ask for pictures of the kitties happy in their new home). I would 10/10 recommend them as a caring, helpful, and thoughtful rescue agency to adopt your next kitty!

Fast forward to 2024, I entertained the idea of somehow welcoming a dog back into my life...I wasn't sure how, but I wanted to get back into the doggy world...and that's when I discovered all different opportunities at the SDCAS.... 1. Dog Day Out- this is a fantastic program to take approved dogs out for the day and market them to the world as being available for adoption. These dogs are sweet, friendly, non-reactive, and just love being out of the shelter. SDCAS gives you everything you need for the day. Our first experience was with Sal- a super friendly pitbull. He loved getting out and proudly wore his 'adopt me' vest! Our second Dog Day Out was with Zane- a beautiful, sweet rottie/husky mix. While we were out with Zane, we decided to foster him. Speaking of fostering.... 2. Foster- if you've ever wanted to foster a dog, this is the place to do it. They provide everything you could possible need. This is a great way to learn more about a dog, post pictures and tidbits about the dog on their website so others learn about them and hopefully adopt them. Fostering saves lives! 3. Adopt- We were a foster fail after a week with Zane. We got to know him SO much and he is absolutely perfect for our family. We wouldn't have known this unless we fostered... Highly recommend SDCAS! 5 stars!

You can tell by how the puppies/dogs respond around her. She is a very honest, sweet, informative doggy foster mom. She provided information from toys, food & extensive doggy tips. Before the actual adopting day, she would send you pictures of your puppy to keep you updated. Truthfully, she and how Art and paw animal rescue is ran, should be an example of how all the animal rescues should be. I adopted my puppy from a group of 9 puppies and she knew everything about each and every single one of them. One thing I appreciate about her is, she doesn't get motivated by money but rather she truly cares for the dogs and want them to find the perfect home. She really takes the time to find the perfect home for each dog! You will not regret adopting! Also her company is ran from donations so please head onto the website and donate (: Thank you Liraz for the amazing experience.

Hello, My dog, who is now resting in a better place, and is…read morein other reviews for grooming places etc.... Ava. I believe I should have written Fuzzy Feet Dog Rescue and asked to be a foster mother temporarily instead of jumping the gun. They were helpful when I met them at PetSmart off College in Oceanside, CA on Sunday when they have rerecurring adoption events outside. It is a great starting set up and their accommodations intertwined with PetSmart really made me feel as though I was going off on the right foot with a new puppy pal, who I named Bella. She is approx. 4 months old and she was a stray in Mexico, from what I was told, and I did not take into consideration whether I would be the one to be able to mother my two children and take her to her training because she really is worth it. She is amazing, adorable, LOVING! dog. She wanted my love every single day whether I was stressed or not she managed to do better than I did some days. I really feel as though I let her down by not being able to keep her because I was able to get her to walk around outside without trying to run up inside the Condo right away, which she did try to do for the first few days. Everyone interested in going to the humane society should know there is a difference between a stray dog that is found in North County or San Diego County for a day walking around or two, versus a dog who has had to fend for themselves from such a young and early age. Fuzzy Feet really helps these dogs and I can see that they give them the best they can and that is so much more than most places or a humane society who I can see putting them down because in the past they had put down a dog of mine who was 9 months old that had gotten out for less than 24 hours and they had already quarantined my animal and told me to pay for it or they have to put them down. Rescues like Fuzzy Feet Dog Rescue I really appreciate, and they also are once again like I said, linked with PetSmart in the sense that they will give you tons of coupons for free doggie day care day, free one on one training, free vet exam at participating Banfield, and tons of coupons within the store. My heart was empty after losing my dog of 14 years and I realized this was not the answer, but I do advocate for this rescue and what they are doing. I wish that they will provide seeking dog adopters with medication lists that the dog is on and that way you do not have to find out the hard way in your home that they have worms. lol. Puppys get them a lot and I realize this, granted my dog I had before never had them, but she also was never a starving stray and I know they are doing an excellent job. Here are some pictures of Bella in the car, and in the home just relaxing and being better behaved than my dog was for 14 years in the car, and she was twice as small. I did not want a full refund as it was not part of the contract but that is what they gave me. I appreciate that but I also wanted to donate to them more things I have, and I did not feel as though they were interested. Dogs from Mexico can have anxiety issues and whine for no reason and lead to chewing etc., more so than an average puppy. Bella is worth it if I did not have my work from home and Motherhood, I would have been able to do all the things she needed. She is an amazing, adorable, and a sweetheart and I pray for and her and all the dogs there with FFDR and I hope that they get adopted soon but I can say this dog Bella she responded to her name after a couple days she ate when it was time and then left it and she relaxed in the car. Thank you again FFDR. My only ask or constructive comment(s) would be to please get them tagged (it is also $15.00/fifteen dollars right now for chipping your dog at SDHS) and to take them established to a vet in San Diego County instead of over the border, and make sure that if they are on a deworming schedule I would have liked to know. Also, the paperwork had her beginnings of regular vaccinations except for the Rabies vaccine even though she was from Mexico and a stray and was living with other rescues and to help the adopter not have those fees and be able to take them to training right away without having to worry about the chipping and rabies vaccine. Bella was retreated twice in my home as well as I was concerned about her spaying job since I could not take her to the same vet as the one she was spayed at, I would not have been able to use the PetSmart coupon for free Banfield Exam and establishment of care without having to pay for the Rabies and Chipping later on, but her blue scars from it were raised and worrisome.
