Dog Day Out- this is a fantastic program to take approved dogs out for the day and market them to the world as being available for adoption. These dogs are sweet, friendly, non-reactive, and just love being out of the shelter. SDCAS gives you everything you need for the day. Our first experience was with Sal- a super friendly pitbull. He loved getting out and proudly wore his 'adopt me' vest! Our second Dog Day Out was with Zane- a beautiful, sweet rottie/husky mix. While we were out with Zane, we decided to foster him. Speaking of fostering.... 2. Foster- if you've ever wanted to foster a dog, this is the place to do it. They provide everything you could possible need. This is a great way to learn more about a dog, post pictures and tidbits about the dog on their website so others learn about them and hopefully adopt them. Fostering saves lives! 3. Adopt- We were a foster fail after a week with Zane. We got to know him SO much and he is absolutely perfect for our family. We wouldn't have known this unless we fostered... You go in and play with the kitties for a fee that helps the organization and then you can adopt from the rescue if you would like to. We fell in love with sibling kittens right away and adopted them. These little guys are so well adjusted. They are litter trained and are very comfortable with people. The adoption process was easy, and the people were all so friendly, helpful and responsive. It was a great experience.

I have never had kittens or cats before, and panicked calling multiple rescues- most replied that they were closed & full. My neighbor lent me contact info for a person in this group (Forgotten Paws CT) who has helped her before. I reached out to her, and she said she would come get the 6 babies that were safe in my house (4 weeks old, eating on their own). The mother was nearby, but I was unable to trap her. I asked her about keeping some of the kittens I found- she told me I would have to buy them back at $250 EACH if the agency she was giving them to approved it. I told her I was making emergency vet appointments and would keep three of the kittens (which is as many as I could give a good home to). She was noticeably annoyed and repeatedly lied regarding laws. Several hours after I called, she showed up, took the kittens, tried to catch the mother and couldn't, and brought the kittens to the vet as well. I thought that was pretty standard- but then the rescue she gave the kittens to posted that the kittens were stolen from their mother and all this nonsense. They continued to use MY pictures to advertise the kittens. They repeatedly lied about alleged animal laws to not allow me to care for the kittens, despite the vet stating they would do great in my care. After MULTIPLE attempts at telling them not to contact me, they started reaching out to other "rescue groups" to contact me for the kittens. It is extremely disappointing that agencies like Forgotten Paws and Enfield Community Cat Project (the rescue the three kittens were given to) deceive animal lovers by posting false narratives, asking for countless donations when they clearly don't care about the animals, and lie to try to deter adoption! Turns out, Tiffany constantly posts that she's trapping and rescuing animals when in reality many people have called her to just come pick up the animals they have already trapped. Then they wait for someone to exchange money for the animal. I really should have done my research before calling this agency and leaving these poor kittens with them. I recommend others do the same

They were pushing dogs onto people with zero regard for their experience with animals or their living situations. I adopted a dog from them. I was told that she was 4 years old, had no history of medical problems, was fully vaccinated, and was house-broken. SHE WAS NONE OF THOSE THINGS! The dog I adopted from them is 10 years old, has arthritis, gum disease, and a tumor, was missing her bordatella and parvo vaccines, and was far from house-broken. They lied about her history and age in order to push this dog onto my partner and I. It is a good thing that we are experienced with senior dogs and have the resources to provide her with the MULTIPLE SURGERIES and medications that she needs to live a normal life. My partner and I also made it clear that we needed a dog who was okay with other dogs, including very large dogs. We have another small, senior dog in our home and regularly house sit for my parents' dogs who are 80 lbs and 100+ lbs. They disregarded our questions and concerns regarding how suitable she would be interacting with large dogs. They told us that they didn't care how she acted with large dogs since her primary home would be with us and another small dog. We were completely taken aback, considering that taking the dogs to the ranch is a regular part of our lives. Once again, we are very lucky that she has had minor issues with the big dogs so far, but we still cannot leave them alone together. We were told at the time of adoption that should any issues arise with house-breaking, kennel training, behavioral issues, etc., we would receive support and help with training as necessary. We reached out to them and did not receive any response. When we adopted our dog, I had a horrible feeling that they were an untrustworthy organization. I wish I had listened to my gut. We love our dog, but this organization is a SCAM Update: I am so glad that we took this dog home, because I sincerely doubt she would have received the care she needs with this organization. She was just diagnosed with congestive heart failure (something that has been building up for several years now) and my partner and I will be keeping her comfortable and monitored though the end of her life. I cannot believe that they would not screen the dogs with thorough vet appointments and feel comfortable sending them home with just anyone who may or may not have the knowledge and the means to provide proper care. Also, I can't believe I never mentioned this in my first review: they were adopting out several puppies who had been spayed and neutered only two days prior to the adoption event! These pups were obviously still recovering from surgery, and they were letting people pick them up. Shameful.

I believe I should have written Fuzzy Feet Dog Rescue and asked to be a foster mother temporarily instead of jumping the gun. They were helpful when I met them at PetSmart off College in Oceanside, CA on Sunday when they have rerecurring adoption events outside. It is a great starting set up and their accommodations intertwined with PetSmart really made me feel as though I was going off on the right foot with a new puppy pal, who I named Bella. She is approx. 4 months old and she was a stray in Mexico, from what I was told, and I did not take into consideration whether I would be the one to be able to mother my two children and take her to her training because she really is worth it. She is amazing, adorable, LOVING! dog. She wanted my love every single day whether I was stressed or not she managed to do better than I did some days. I really feel as though I let her down by not being able to keep her because I was able to get her to walk around outside without trying to run up inside the Condo right away, which she did try to do for the first few days. Everyone interested in going to the humane society should know there is a difference between a stray dog that is found in North County or San Diego County for a day walking around or two, versus a dog who has had to fend for themselves from such a young and early age. Fuzzy Feet really helps these dogs and I can see that they give them the best they can and that is so much more than most places or a humane society who I can see putting them down because in the past they had put down a dog of mine who was 9 months old that had gotten out for less than 24 hours and they had already quarantined my animal and told me to pay for it or they have to put them down. Rescues like Fuzzy Feet Dog Rescue I really appreciate, and they also are once again like I said, linked with PetSmart in the sense that they will give you tons of coupons for free doggie day care day, free one on one training, free vet exam at participating Banfield, and tons of coupons within the store. My heart was empty after losing my dog of 14 years and I realized this was not the answer, but I do advocate for this rescue and what they are doing. I wish that they will provide seeking dog adopters with medication lists that the dog is on and that way you do not have to find out the hard way in your home that they have worms. lol. Puppys get them a lot and I realize this, granted my dog I had before never had them, but she also was never a starving stray and I know they are doing an excellent job. Here are some pictures of Bella in the car, and in the home just relaxing and being better behaved than my dog was for 14 years in the car, and she was twice as small. I did not want a full refund as it was not part of the contract but that is what they gave me. I appreciate that but I also wanted to donate to them more things I have, and I did not feel as though they were interested. Dogs from Mexico can have anxiety issues and whine for no reason and lead to chewing etc., more so than an average puppy. Bella is worth it if I did not have my work from home and Motherhood, I would have been able to do all the things she needed. She is an amazing, adorable, and a sweetheart and I pray for and her and all the dogs there with FFDR and I hope that they get adopted soon but I can say this dog Bella she responded to her name after a couple days she ate when it was time and then left it and she relaxed in the car. Thank you again FFDR. My only ask or constructive comment(s) would be to please get them tagged (it is also $15.00/fifteen dollars right now for chipping your dog at SDHS) and to take them established to a vet in San Diego County instead of over the border, and make sure that if they are on a deworming schedule I would have liked to know. Also, the paperwork had her beginnings of regular vaccinations except for the Rabies vaccine even though she was from Mexico and a stray and was living with other rescues and to help the adopter not have those fees and be able to take them to training right away without having to worry about the chipping and rabies vaccine. Bella was retreated twice in my home as well as I was concerned about her spaying job since I could not take her to the same vet as the one she was spayed at, I would not have been able to use the PetSmart coupon for free Banfield Exam and establishment of care without having to pay for the Rabies and Chipping later on, but her blue scars from it were raised and worrisome.

It appears that they have dedicated foster parents who help transition these pups from shelter life to permanent placement in their forever homes. They were very honest with us about the dog we were adopting struggles with timidness and fear. They sent someone to do a home visit and we had to do an initial foster to adopt agreement for 2 weeks. If all worked out fine for both Shelby and our family then we were cleared to adopt. Which we did last Thursday. Shelby has had all her initial shots, was spayed and treated for fleas when we adopted her. All we needed to do was provide the love. Done. I would highly recommend Wagging Dog Rescue to anyone who is considering adopting a new member of their family.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars!…read more I have been patient in looking to add a kitten/cat to our family and stumbled across Marigold on a fosters Instagram page which prompted me to submit an application. Kat reached out the very next day after reviewing our application and pre approved us. Yelena reached out for all coordination afterwards. Marigold was not even posted on the rescues page but they were so kind and were able to get us in to meet her. The foster mom (and dad) were wonderful and have been doing this for so long (60+ kitties). We instantly fell in love with Marigold and were able to be selected to adopt her (pat on our back for being able to provide a good home). She came from a hoarder home and was lucky to survive from malnutrition. We came back to get her after getting she completed her shots/spayed. Not even 24 hours in, my one year old tabby loves her and she is settling in perfectly. I will say I have had not so great experiences with other rescues in the area and Dirty Little Paws surpassed all expectations! I hope one day I can repay them and foster another baby in need.
