This Foundation which is ran by Andy Kelly and ALL the wonderful Volunteers focus mainly on older animals that need love &care as well.I can't say enough great things about this foundation/rescue. Their priority is definitely for the Love &Concern for all the animals.They are not just about adopting out all the animals they are concerned about who &where each animal goes to.My personal opinion only I don't think many of the animals there want to leave lol seriously the small dogs &cats(the only ones we looked at) all seemed so happy to be there most definitely the small dogs were all buddies. Couple dogs I walked around the property just wanted to go back to their living areas with the rest of the dogs lol they were all loving sweet dogs as well as the kitties when we went into their living area several immediately came up to us wrapping their tails around our legs loving up on us. I lost my job during COVID and as a result of an injury to my brain, am now living off very small monthly disability payments. Our Jack-a-Poo Rue lost all her insurances/wellness plans when I lost my job. She hadn't been to the vet in years and had since gone blind. We went to the vet today and we were able to find out why she had some changed behaviors that were worrying us. I applied to adopt a senior dog at their foundation. I filled out the application; then sent photos; then answered more questions. My intent was to keep the dog I was looking at in the house with me; I work most of the time from home. I had recently lost my dog who was 14 and was looking for another dog. I mentioned that I had dog kennels (2) in my side yard double gated with its own run with access to the open back yard all fenced and double fenced and was asked how I used those and explained I used with some dogs over the years and for other dogs, they were kept in the house. The two kennels are completely enclosed with shade cloth, have misters, dog igloos and bedding and automatic waterers and are on cement which can be washed down with soap and water. I was rejected because I had kennels although my intent was to adopt this dog from them and keep him in the house with me. Amazing. So I will move along after doing this for the past two weeks and find another dog. read more

I adopted a dog from Frosted Faces but didn't go to open house until recently. I've always thought very highly of what they do for senior dogs & how easy they make it for people of lesser means to adopt a dog. I heard Kelley (one of the founders) say, "just love them & we'll take care of their medical for life"! That's profound! My neighbors passed and I found myself taking care of their dog CeCe for almost 3 years in their home while the lengthy estate battle ensued. I really grew attached to CeCe but was at my limit of dogs. I walked CeCe more than my dogs as she was alone in an empty house. Having no luck placing her in a new home, I was just about to give up when I found Frosted Faces. I paid the fee that entitled her to life long medical care and boarding hoping she finds a new home. Everyone loved her but it seems she just keeps dropping weight after several flings. I was told by her owners that she does not get along with dogs and such, but she is just the sweetest soul. What a wonderful rescue organization for senior animals! I am so impressed by how well Frosted Faces is run. After losing my senior pup, I decided to honor his memory by fostering another senior dog in need. Frosted Faces' application was straightforward, and they emailed me within 12 hours. They were very responsive, and I was able to get an appointment for the first day I was free. Once I got to their site in Ramona, I was asked to check in, given a tour, and introduced to a number of their dogs. The facilities are amazing, with lots of space for the dogs to play, toys, food, shade... it was really heartwarming to see. I also loved that they had at least two dogs who were not available for adoption yet due to behavioral issues that Frosted Faces were working with. You can tell they really are passionate about improving the lives of these dogs. The staff and volunteers were very familiar with the personalities of all of the dogs, which made it easy to ask questions and get to know which dog would be a good fit for us. We found a dog that was a perfect match, and I was really impressed by how open and honest Kelly was about his history and any potential areas of concern. I've worked with a number of animal rescues, and it is rare to find an organization that is so truthful about the dogs they are trying to find fosters or adopters for. As a foster, they offer any and all supplies, free medical care, and free boarding. If you're looking for an organization to foster with, I can't recommend Frosted Faces highly enough. read more

I got an email back saying I needed to "shop around" for a better deal. Long story short I had to put my dog down. My first experience with Frosted Faces was frustrating. I found a dog I wanted to meet and asked them what I needed to do. I was told to come to their facility on Saturday between 10 am and 3 pm. While I was waiting for Saturday, I filled out the paperwork they wanted and sent photos they requested. On Thursday, I was told someone adopted the dog. If adoptions are first come, first served, why did they tell me to come on Saturday and not right away? Wife and I went to their Open House yesterday to learn more about the place as well as services they provide. All of our dogs were/are rescues from SDHS or other local organizations in TJ. First kudos for caring for older dogs that may have fallen through the cracks (deceased owners, unable to afford care, stuck in Shelters, etc). All the dogs were getting along fine and the few ones with potential behavioral issues due to stress or else were free and enclosed in a large space. The logo is very cool. The place is very spacious and feels like the dogs are at a dog park and rotating between mornings and afternoon playing shifts :- Plenty of shade and tons of volunteers taking care of dogs of all shapes, breeds, etc For lack of better words, it felt like a large Sr living facility for dogs. They also mentioned vet services on site for dogs adopted from them (I believe I heard free or highly discounted). I did see some reviews from folks bringing up the overall being of the dog but it is really a personal choice (for example one cute and loving dog in the lobby was paralyzed- back legs- but was loving the attention and cookies :- he also had access to a wheel chair to leverage his front paws. I used to live in Ramona and would pass Frosted Faces Foundation every day driving home. When I moved back to California and decided it was time to add a second dog to the family, FFF was the first place I thought of. I have a senior dog and love what FFF stands for. I filled out an adoption application while in communication with a couple of their placement coordinators regarding a specific dog. After receiving an invitation email to visit FFF or make an appointment, I responded back with interest to schedule an appointment for the desired dog, me, and my dog to meet. Unfortunately, no one replied to my email...or my follow-up email inquiring about the sudden noncommunication. It saddens me that this happened, and I had to let go of continuing the process. Yet according to their website, the dog is still available for adoption. Response to below: The invite I received was the standard email for the open house, where it also states to contact for an appt if I would like to meet a specific dog, which I did, but did not receive a response. (The email was sent to both Krista and Delia.) And me not proceeding with the process of adoption was AFTER a week of no communication to my initial request for an appointment. Which converstation the request was replied to is irrelevant because the email addresses are the same. Please refrain from specifically trying to place the blame on me. I am just stating my experience with FFF and the lack of communication received. They care so much for animals. I would recommend volunteering or adopting from them! I wish I lived closer to Ramona! They rescue older dogs from overcrowded shelters and have adoption showing every Saturday and Sunday. They helped my Snowflake, aka Lilith find me. They had volunteer's rescue her in Pasadena, at 13, and we found each other. They do everything possible medically for all their dogs and I am so grateful to them. We visited FFF yesterday, 11/30/24 and were so pleased with experiencing the efficiency of this loving and incredibly well run senior animal rescue. Erin was our 7yr Volunteer host who was so nice and provided a wealth of information through personal experience. We saw that the dogs have numerous opportunities for health care and enrichment of various kinds. Even weekly off campus scheduled hikes (strollers if needed) too. Volunteer staff seemed so in tune with visitors and knew the dogs so well to provide the visitors with great information. We left heart-warmed and even upon leaving ran into the Founding owners, Kelly and Andy who were so pleasant. They certainly have blessed numerous senior animals (even some from other states) who have lost their pet parents for whatever reason and are in need of proper loving care until they are placed in permanent adoption approved homes. Every once in a while you come across a difficult person who's action just does not make sense. Kelly Smisek is that kind of a person. I reached out to her in early September requesting help paying for 3 heart meds for my 15 year old dog with congestive heart failure. The cheapest meds I found was from Costco Pharmacy, $100 per month. It is a big hardship for me to pay this kind of money since I live on Disability, but without the meds my precious dog would die. Since last November, I paid over $1,000 for meds. Kelly asked me to show receipts. I explained to her that I did not keep every single receipt, turned in what I had and asked Costco to print out an itemized list of meds showing dates, dollar amount and name of meds going back 6 months. I sent it to Kelly along with the lasted cash register receipt, but for some reason it was not enough proof for Kelly. I really don't understand why 6 months worth of Costco Pharmacy receipt is not acceptable proof. Kelly wrote back that she needed itemized receipts, so she cannot help me and I better look elsewhere....How cold is that??? Back in June of 2022 I saw a little dog on this website who was 11 years old and blind. I emailed frosted faces foundation and I found out that she was up for adoption. She had been there since May 23rd. I thought that was rather strange that she had been there so long because these little poodle type dogs are scooped up immediately when they are put on any website They are located in Ramona California. Almost all of the rescue organizations are located in Los Angeles and Orange County. I lost my toy poodle 2 years ago she was 16 to heart failure and I have been looking for another one ever since. I filled out all the required paperwork and they wanted to see pictures of my home where she would be living out the rest of her senior years. Finally came the day for me to meet her and possibly bring her home. They gave me perfect directions. When I arrived it was such an awesome place it looked like a retirement home for humans. There were so many sweet people walking around wanting to help. They had a huge yard for the dogs that was shaded with many water bowls and dog houses and pillows and music. I asked the girls how many dogs they adopt out for a week she says 20 to 50. They rescue these senior dogs from the shelter. This is such an awesome organization I highly reccomend you adopt your next dog from this frosted faces foundation. The little dog I applied for they told me she had been adopted 3 different times by 3 different people who brought her back after only one night. They said she paced the house all night they couldn't get any sleep and it wasn't what they thought it was going to be. When I looked at this little baby who couldn't see and she was elderly I said she will not be coming back here I am going to be her forever mommy. She never paced the house at night when I brought her home it took her one week to adjust. I work full time and get up at 4 AM. I didn't get much sleep that night but I didn't care because she was a little old lady and she had to adjust 2 hour schedule. It took her 6 days and now everything is perfect. Frosted faces pays for all of her medical bills as long as she is on this Earth I think that is awesome. I thought that was pretty insane that these 3 ignorant people would only take her for one night. The poor old little baby is blind and elderly and she had been through so much in her life she Just wanted to check out her new surroundings. I still have her I love her to death she fits in perfect with my fur baby family. They have a frosted faces Facebook that I recommend you go on. Kelly Smisek. Frosted Faces Foundation. Surprised to reach such an angry review? Hope that I as an adopter can find hope and peace in a dog I can love? I am angry because you presume I euthanized my last dog as some easy solution. And how are you surprised when you denied us seeing if Haikgoo was the dog that could fill the void in our hearts and home that is compatible with our Kona? How Kelly implies my decision for euthanasia, where my husband and I are present with my dogs getting "A little bit of pink juice..." as somehow easier than pursuing extensive medical care, is beyond me. This is a 3rd response to Kelly's reply (our sole interaction due to her lack of email response) given she contacted Yelp to take down my last update. She declines undesirable communication via email like a professional adult and prefers to take stuff to social media so she can assert her own sanctimonious self. Kelly chooses animals from shelters that are heavily shared with sponsor $$$ though Facebook to be rescued while boasting the aggressive medical care she provides for the ailing dogs in her care. It's no surprise many of these senior dogs end up NOT THRIVING at all after undergoing such treatments all to boost her ego organization. Then uses FFF as a 501c3 organization run by her cult of "volunteers" and home as a tax advantage. That is why she was abrupt in "rescuing" Haikgoo rather than seeing if we were a fit to be her family. Sadly, Haikgoo is still at Kelly's home being hoard kenneled through the winter holidays. My beloved animals are always home with my family for the holidays (never kenneled or boarded) given my work schedule as a nurse. I won't be surprised when she starts promoting Haikgoo for holiday take home after my writing. Kelly is audacious to share on a Facebook thread that I euthanized my last 2 dogs who were in respiratory distress "without diagnostics or a treatment plan." Respiratory distress is unquestionably one of the symptoms that an animal is nearing the end-of-life and was not a treatable symptom for my dogs for another ailment. Kelly never inquired on the circumstances of how I made such hard decisions or the vet care provided. It is truly love when deciding enough is enough and if I am pursuing treatments out of my own selfishness versus allowing my loved one to pass peacefully and in minimal stress. Kelly also should not shame people who admit when a newly adopted animal turns out not to be a fit at home regardless of how long the trial lasted. And then blame them for signing an adoption agreement that she claims to somehow not authorize. Or that adopters prefer a housebroken pet because of realistic pet parenting skills or free time-will to cleaning the home. I honestly doubt the difference 14 days instead of 48 hours would have made in regards to Tabi, who was adopted out easily to her wonderful forever family within a short week of us "relinquishing" the animal. This review and my sour experience with Kelly needs to be a wake up call to her disservice in "advocating for senior animals." To Kelly - Keep your ego and lies up. Contacting Yelp and replying with your insincerity won't force me to let go of your misrepresentation and lie that I "euthanized two animals in respiratory distress without diagnostics or a treatment plan." I will give respect to them, because they work hard to 24/7 helping animals. I will not tell anyone not to donate or not to adopt/foster from them. I will say this: -Go into this knowing where you stand on euthanasia. If you believe in quality of life over length, this may not be the place for you. -Make sure you are ready, emotionally, for a hospice situation. My friend fought against breast cancer and won. She is tough and she is sweet and she loved her dog Pistachio (DiCaprio) so much, it interfered with her life. He had a stage 5 heart murmur and rotten teeth that were untreatable due to this condition. While he was able to find some joy (that's the spirit of a dog for you), every day was labored, scary and confusing. The past few months of his time with her were filled with cuddles, love and stroller walks on the beach, but they were also filled with ER visits and suffering. Mary wanted nothing more than for Stash to find peace. The vet agreed, everyone who spent time with him agreed. It was time. However Frosted Faces told Mary he declined because of her inability to give him meds, which was simply not true. They failed to mention how bad his condition was upon adoption. She had to surrender Pistachio because she could not give him a dignified goodbye and was unable to watch him suffer any longer. Kelly may have disagreed but I have to say she was professional and polite about the matter. You can tell she not only cares deeply about her dogs but also the people involved. I'm sorry I cannot say the same for other volunteers, who aren't really worth mentioning. It's been a terrible day, and two beings are going to bed tonight sad. read more

My first visit to Frosted Faces was a few years ago during their open house. I am not one that can easily go to dog shelters because I can't stand leaving the animals there when I leave and I cry and get sick to my stomach with worry about what will become of them. I didn't have that feeling at all at Frosted Faces. In fact, I left feeling like it wouldn't matter if none of those dogs were adopted, because they were in a good place and I didn't have to worry about any of them after I left. Once the pandemic hit, I finally had the time to go out there and volunteer as I had wanted to since my first visit. As a volunteer, I have done a variety of things. There's always a lot to do! One of my favorite things is to take a dog out to the park or on a hike. I love being able to have quality one on one time with an unfortunate dog who was abandoned through no fault of his own. I've seen dogs that were slated for euthanasia because of behavior or medical problems grow and thrive and become completely adoptable. It's very rewarding to see them go from death row to a happy family pet. I've seen multiple dogs marked as immobile by the shelters that they come from realize that life isn't so bad after all when they get to Frosted Faces and begin walking/running/playing again. Dog rescue is a very emotional thing and isn't for the faint of heart. Reading some of the older reviews, it looks like people were expecting rainbows and butterflies. Sorry, rescuing old dogs who were dumped at a shelter or abandoned to fend for themselves as strays isn't all great. The staff and volunteers aren't going to be happy at all moments. It's not particularly easy to smile and be super happy when we see very sick dogs dropped at a shelter and then get marked for euthanasia, but they have to wait in a kennel for several days or weeks for their turn to die. Frosted Faces takes in as many of those dogs as they can, but every day they know that they couldn't save them all. They work hard to save as many as possible and fill their own kennels and get as many as they can into foster homes. I think the average vet bill is around $50K/month and that's with very generous veterinary discounts. The founders live onsite and work 24 hours/day, often doing at least three things at once. I only mention that because I saw some older reviews where people felt that they didn't get enough attention. Honestly, the best way to see what's going on is to spend a lot of time out there. Volunteers are allowed to schedule themselves as much as they want to. The volunteer community is a great group and we are allowed to do as much or as little we want. Some people do very physically challenging stuff and some just sit and cuddle little dogs. Some people travel and use their vacation time to spend a week volunteering onsite. TLDR version: Kelly Smíšek, Founder of the Frosted Faces Foundation, is a textbook narcissist. Her organization does care for the dogs in their charge but are a long shot from being true animal advocates, but I digress. I highly encourage you to read on for the full scoop. Situation which lead to my interactions with the Frosted Faces Foundation: Ashley, the dog I was applying for, used to be a part of my four-legged family around 10+ years ago. I underwent some rough times in what was then my 20's and had to move. At that time, a past friend reached out and offered to take Ashley in temporarily until my situation improved. After 6 months of not finding accommodations that would accept Ashley, the friend took him in as her own and cut off all communications. Fast forward 10+ years and it turns out this past friend became an animal hoarder at some point. Ashley was rescued by animal control around July of 2022 and then transferred to the Frosted Faces Foundation. I was made aware of the situation by that past friend who reached out to my workplace (I've been working at the same location for years) to get a hold of me to tell me she was losing everything. I tried to communicate with her, but the drama that ensued had me blocking her number. From there, it was simply a matter of tracking Ashley to the Frosted Faces Foundation website. Email interaction with Delia Haust, Placement Coordinator of the Frosted Faces Foundation: Most of the above was included in my application to adopt Ashley. I received a response from Placement Coordinator, Delia Haust, who noted my story was "amazing", assured me that Ashley was in good hands, and ended with "Ashley has already raised the interest of other families and we plan to go with one of those for his permanent placement." As someone who is also in the animal shelter industry, I knew this was an indirect bs response. One I would never give in all my years in the industry. It is important to note that I also asked that I be contacted if his potential adopters dropped out. No response followed. Email interaction with Kelly Smíšek, Founder of the Frosted Faces Foundation: I had kept the previous interaction in the back of my mind until realizing over a month had passed by since my initial interaction. I reached out again via email, noting that Ashley was still available for adoption. I received a speedy response from Kelly, with "Hi Jessica, Some of your references were not in support of adding Ashley to your family, so we opted to not move forward. I am sorry if this news is disappointing and we appreciate your interest." This was an absolute lie. None of my two references were contacted. I made this clear in my emailed response. This is where Kelly starts to change her story in her next response of "We have several mutual professional references who we reached out to, as naturally, the references provided by an applicant will provide positive feedback. I understand the personal responsibility you must feel for Ashley. We are taking good care of him and he continues to have adoption interest and receives volunteer attention." More sourced & confirmed lies. From there my response was a simple "Thank you for the information. I will be including it on all public reviews." Not long after, I received an actual phone call from Kelly Smíšek. Phone call interaction with Kelly Smíšek: She immediately addressed me as being angry. I was miffed, but narcissists cannot empathize, so I ignored her comment and mentioned the start to finish lies and story changes within her organization. I was nothing short of professional, clear, and direct, and instead I was told that my "attitude" was "off-putting"...I told her I'm a bold and direct person to which she later gave a humorous tone to mentioning, "Well, you say you're...BOLD, or whatever you call it." before she began a tangent of grasping at straws as to why it is not in Ashley's best interest to enter my home. (Will detail in the future as I ran out of review space), all of which I called out as ridiculous reasons. She mentioned the dogs that she and I have and said neither of us needs more dogs...excuse me? After telling her that no one had any business saying anyone needs or doesn't need more dogs, she back peddled and said it was a jest. You're not funny, Kelly. She even dangled the proverbial carrot, saying that things could have gone differently had our interaction been different. How fucking dare! Fragile personalities can feel intimidated by direct and confident people. The only one with any "attitude" was Kelly. It was akin to communicating with a child. Her sing-song voice does not negate her actual attitude, lies, judgement, and preconceived notions this woman had about me. Kelly, you lie like it's going out of style. Tisk tisk. read more

Great experience with FFF; I'd post 10 stars if I could! Our dog is elderly and has medical needs. When we boarded him at FFF for a week, all his needs were accommodated. We received regular updates with short comments, pictures, and videos!!! It was comforting to see that our dog adapted so well. Alicia was our main contact and several others supported him as well. Don't trust this place. I lost my dog and I was able to eventually track him to FFF where they readopted him out. I tried calling and emailing several times not getting any responses so I drove down there. I talked to the director and she said yes she received all my emails but didn't bother to respond. She said for me to have contact with my dog or even send gifts would be inappropriate. I asked why and all she could say was I was being inappropriate and they were the official owner of the dog now. FFF is suppose to be an advocate for the animal according to their website. Which means doing what is in best interest of the animal. I love my dog like one of my kids and would give my life for him. We've been through a lot together. I still consider him to be my best friend. I'm sure he misses me as much as I miss him and he probably wonders why I'm not looking for him, little does he know I never gave up looking for him. Why wouldn't a place that is an advocate for him not want to reunite him with his family. I don't see nothing inappropriate for a guy wanting to be reunited with his best friend for whom he became separated from. I've thought of him everyday while trying to locate him only to be encountered by a brick wall at FFF. For a place to advertise they want a happy and joyful outcome for what they thought was a stray dog they sure don't show it. I imagine I'm not the only person that can't get their loved dog back from them after they claimed ownership of their pet. I had written this for social media, but I wanted to make sure Yelp can see what an amazing Foundation this is. The negative reviews on this page are absurd- people are totally crazy and can't seem to take no for an answer if they are deemed unfit for a senior dog. Many of these dogs have behavioral or medical issues so you're not going to find a "perfect" dog who is exactly your desired size, breed, doesn't shed, house-trained, gets along with ALL dogs, kids, and people...that's totally unrealistic especially for a 8+ year old dog who was either found on the street or abandoned by their "family." I lived in San Diego for two years and the highlight of my time was getting involved with Frosted Faces. I started getting involved with FFF with a two week Fling for a pup during the pandemic and the amount of pure joy that this pup brought me plus the amazing support and encouragement from FFF was life changing. I am so grateful that a month or so after that Fling I was stalking the Behind the Scenes Facebook page and laid eyes on my now forever best friend. She's 10 years old and FFF helped me treat her for an ear infection, spay and mammary mass removal and has helped me pay for her indefinite arthritis medication. I've also volunteered on-site at FFF. I took tons of photos of the adoptable dogs, brought them on walks, helped feed them dinner, and gave baths to 9 newbies! I had SO MUCH FUN! It was so rewarding to kickstart these dogs' second chance at an amazing new life. The kennels are crystal clean, the dogs get to run around in yards and play and cuddle with volunteers. Frosted Faces changed mine and my dog's life and I love watching them on social media change the lives of thousands of other dogs and their forever families. read more

I really didn't want to leave a bad review. I've been actively following their social media for the last 2 years, but my most recent experience has really made me pause. I always had a lot of respect for their organization and what they do for the seniors. I even voted fervently for them to win the $55k grant money from Harrahs! But man, after my experience and reading all the negative reviews, WOW. It really makes you wonder whether they do have the animal's best interest in mind. First off, communication is bad, period. When I did get a response, I can see it's a canned response and they just make up things. When I called them out for the discrepancies, it's radio silence. I really didn't want to give a negative review, because ultimately it's the animals that will suffer if people don't donate or help. I however have given up and will not be following or supporting them anymore. Based on the past negative reviews, I'm sure that someone will be responding abrasively, but here we go. A few years ago we adopted a dog, our first dog in fact. As new dog owners, we did the best we could to give her a loving home. After 1+ year, she had a seizure. We did the best we could in the month after to care for her. At the same time, my husband as the primary caretaker, started to develop health issues due to the stress of caring for a dog that had serious medical issues. We made the VERY difficult decision to do the loving thing and surrender her so that she could get the care she needed. Such a hard decision for our family. I had seen recent social media posts that surrendering a dog would not preclude families from adopting from FFF. So after awhile, we thought we could help foster Shelly since she had been onsite for more than a year and was showing kennel stress. We have 1 acre of land and our pool is fenced, and someone is home most of the day. We *thought* we were a perfect fit and could help relieve some space for other dogs. Well, we got denied. When I asked for the reason for the denial, we were told that we were denied due to our requests for a foster to be housetrained and not have severe separation anxiety. And supposedly, Shelly has both of these characteristics. I thought that was odd, because all of the social media posts I read said that she WAS housetrained and did NOT exhibit separation anxiety. I responded and asked them to be honest with the reason for denial, because I felt as if they were making that up. In their response, they said that Shelly was not a good fit, but thank you for your interest and please visit other shelters. Obviously, it's not a Shelly incompatibity issue, but something with us, otherwise they would've directed us to another dog that would be a better fit. I can only think that it's due to the previous surrender. Anyway, the lack of communication is sad, and the dishonest responses are also sad. Just be transparent and give the real reason for the denial. If they told me that it was due to a previous surrender, then I would not have felt the need to write this. Anyway, I just want to be honest with my experience so that others can see the not-so-rosy side of this organization that I used to have so much respect for. So disappointed. EDITED TO RESPOND TO KELLY'S COMMENT: LOL now you finally respond! Someone has to call you out online in order for you to finally give an honest answer. I'm so glad you responded actually...so people can see your true colors. I won't even waste my time addressing your mistruths about Briar. We didn't know she had a mammary mass, how could we as first time dog owners know that? But WOW, you definitely are showing your true self though. I was sorry to write a negative review before, but definitely not anymore. How can you be a founder of a nonprofit and be completely unprofessional and rude? You turned this personal when you decided to go below the belt and insult us. Totally unnecessary and immature to go this low. I HOPE THAT EVERYONE READS THIS AND THINKS TWICE BEFORE DONATING THEIR TIME AND MONEY TO YOU AND YOUR ORGANIZATION. Read the negative reviews before deciding to support this sham organization. There are plenty of other rescues that really want to help animals and the founders don't act like an immature brat when someone tries to honestly post their experience. What should be a learning experience for this organization has turned into a blame game for the founder, of all people. Kelly Smisek, you seem like you have a lot of growing up to do! You seem inept based on your unprofessional responses to me and others. As a successful busines owner, I would never hire you. You're the face of FFF and this is how you treat potential fosters? Perhaps you should realize your shortcomings and farm it out to someone else, otherwise your business will fail. I was very nervous upon arriving at Frosted Faces Foundation because I feared how I would handle seeing the senior dogs and what conditions the rescue would offer. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! Not only is it clean, organized and staffed adequately with knowledgeable volunteers, but it is also inviting and comforting at the same time. You immediately know the animals are well cared for upon stepping foot through the main door. The animals don't just sit in kennels but instead have yard time, walks on the sprawling property, enrichment, acupuncture & strengthening, field trips with volunteers, hikes on Sunday's and the opportunity for a 2 week fling, foster or adoption. Did I mention the well thought out multi programs they offer? Do yourself a favor and not only visit the website to read more but visit this magical place in person. You won't regret it! read more

This amazing organization makes adopting a senior possible for so many of us who want to make a difference for older dogs. I first fostered Pablo from FFF and very quickly decided to adopt this wonderful boy who clearly had lived an extremely tough life before he was rescued. FFF provides extremely high quality veterinary care, surgery and medical support that is fundamentally changing the lives of so many senior dogs. I know that without their support, I could not have adopted Pablo and given him the life he deserves. This organization is extremlely well-run and laser-focused on their mission of providing the highest quality of life for so many senior dogs who otherwise would linger in shelters and ultimately be euthanized. What a special place. I came here this morning broken hearted after the passing of our boy Bailey. I heard about this organization & wanted to take Bailey's unused meds, beds, stroller & other things somewhere where it would be useful. When I arrived, Brooke who volunteers there greeted me. She was so kind. It takes an extra special kind of person to volunteer in a place like this. She showed me around & told me about the organization. I saw all the sweet lovely senior babies there. Large and small. All looking for a little bit of love, kind word and a soft touch. For just a few minutes I forgot my pain & enjoyed being around wagging tails & grey faces. There was this one little white poodle that I can't get out of my mind. He was very elderly & looked so lost. Brook said he had dementia and was surrendered. I would encourage anyone who ever felt love for a pet to support this organization & visit. Thank you Brooke. I am actually thinking of returning next weekend, even if just to hold that little lost white poodle. read more
