Each party is given a complimentary bucket of lettuce to feed the animals, with more available for purchase. We got to pet and feed not only mini pigs, but also goats, ducks, chickens, and even a large, handsome turkey. And because it was Valentine's Day, the staff passed around glasses of sparkling wine for guests, which was an extra special touch. The setting is tucked away in a mountainous area, making it feel like a hidden gem off the beaten path. It was the perfect stop on our way to San Diego. Ary lives on the property, but his dogs have large, well-maintained play yards, plenty of toys, shaded areas, and an impeccably clean environment. When we visited, Ary took time to educate us about the Olde English Bulldog breed, even though we had already done our research. His passion for the breed and his dedication to finding the right home for each dog really stood out. It was clear that his priority is the well-being of the dogs, not profit. But our relationship did not end with Ary after we picked up our pup like most breeders do. Instead, he added us to a customer Facebook page and left us with his cell phone number. The Facebook page is great for putting you in contact with his past customers who have experience with olde English bulldogs. The page is beneficial for sharing funny pictures, documenting milestones, and asking questions or addressing concerns. Ary is active on the page where he follows along and provides advice when necessary. Ary is also available anytime you need him for issues big or small. Not only did we gain our sweet Frankie girl, but we also became part of the OAK community. Our Frankie has a huge personality! She is playful yet calm when needed and gentle and trusted with young kids. She was potty trained in a week and crate trained nearly overnight. Our initial meeting with Casey, included meeting our puppy's parents Willow and Charlie. Casey answered all our questions, being personable with us and helping us understand what it takes to be successful and happy owners (parents). Our initial contact with Casey, (GLD) was very positive and thorough. A contract was signed upon deposit and from that point on we were given updates, pictures, videos and a sense of excitement. Casey has been very transparent and honest, including being responsive to our questions and any concerns. She instilled positivity and trust in our relationship which we feel will last a lifetime. Casey invested so much time and energy into making sure (mommy and daddy) were taken care of and same, plus more regarding the pups once they were born. Casey arranged a day for us and others to meet the pups with a play date when they were 6 weeks old and we got to choose the one that will be our forever pup. She reassured us the puppies were being cared for by her and the vet. Up to the day that we brought Sundae home at 8 weeks.There have not been any regrets working with GLD and we appreciate all the paperwork and gift bags she arranged upon pick up day. This breeder told us her labs were more on the calmer side of labs, she wasn't kidding! Our first lab was hell on wheels for a good 9 years. Our Rocky is so chill, we still can't believe how easy going he is. He is kinda an "old soul" with an occasional zoomies moment here and there. He is such a sweetheart. People ask me often if we got a rescue. There's such a stigma with using breeders, we are often asked "did you rescue him?" I always answer, he rescued me.

She is so smart, has been super easy to train, is confident yet so sweet with our 8 year old female lab. Our past couple of labs have come from a breeder in the Prunedale, CA area. Unfortunately they both had various issues...one we had to re-home due to resource guarding issues, and our current one has had to have ACL surgery in both knees. Although she has been sweet, she has been a money pit. I concluded I could not get another lab from that breeder. We could not have found a better pup than Joy. She is beautiful, super smart, and has not had any medical issues. No ear infections, skin irritations, nothing! She is also very well socialize and not as nervous as our other Lab.
