This is the only place I go for irrigation supplies. While the schedule is not so convenient, it is worth the extra effort. The price, quality, knowledge, and fun keep me loyal to them. When I asked the owner if she had a replacement for a Home Depot purchased valve, she literally said that's not a valve (think Crocodile Dundee) and pulled a real one from under the counter and said this is a valve as she set it on the counter. She proceeded to explain the difference and why the junk I had failed. They was 15 years ago. When I leave there shop I have the knowledge and supplies I need. I have never had to go back to finish a project. The staff remembers what I forget. She is a character and uses language I don't use but I go there and run into my brothers from church. read more

(are you kidding me) The lady that owns Rancher's is WITHOUT A DOUBT the most knowledgable person I have ever spoken to with regards to sprinklers and irrigation. She helped design 3 sprinkler systems for us in the past 10 years (business / home). Her advice has always been sound. She saved us money (best sprinkler heads / timer for the job). Plain and simple: She knows her stuff! The lady is kinda' a toughie when you first meet her. Get past that and you will she she is a kind-hearted person. Very very very nice lady. I've lived off Gunn for over 10 years and I finally stopped in for a visit. First, this shop is not for the younger generation, it's an old fashion shop that provides a small amount of quality choices. I met "Lee", the owner, the one with a wealth of knowledge. My question was if they had fertilizer for St. Augustine grass? I couldn't believe how much she was able to assist me with both the product and watering advice. Sure she used foul language and so I did as well, it was like we knew each other for many years. The rest of you with bad reviews....well, maybe you need to continue to do your shopping online. I needed to fix a broken 3/4" PVC underground sprinkler pipe and couldn't find a simple slip connector / snap on type repair cover at my local hardware store (out-of-stock) or the 2 nearby big box home stores. This place is great. They actually helped me design my sprinkler systems. I just took a drawing of my yards on graph paper(to scale) with me and they told me where to put the sprinklers and what sprinklers I needed. They have everything you'll need and for the same prices as the big hardware stores, but the stuff from Ranchers is actually good quality and works properly. read more

I have been living in Whittier for decades now and I thought I knew of all the "hidden treasure spots" for hardware stuff. I had been looking for, what I believed was, a discontinued Champion sprinkler bleed screw. I reached at all the usual places and never came near what I needed. I work for a major Southern California utility company and one of my fellow co-workers mentioned Ranchers Irrigation Supply. I said, "what??" He mentioned to me that if no one else has it, there's a good chance Ranchers does. Well, whadda you think happened? They had the part and more info than I expected to get.
