I lost a big branch off my beautiful Avocado Tree during the rainstorm here in Whittier . The branch was also black like it was rotting . I was afraid the tree might fall . The tree is also overgrown and needs pruning . Fernando came out and said yes the tree needs pruning but not right now wait let until November December so you don't lose all the beautiful fruit. I truly appreciate the honesty. I will be calling them back to come out to do the job. read more

California arborist came recommended by local friends. From the initial meeting with Don (Certified Arborist) all interactions were professional. License verified and Foreman Fernando... This company is on-time, kept their word and no stray branches happen to show up after they left. This is one of the few companies that has a "bucket." My thanks to this "family" owned company operating in Whittier. California Arborist can thin and lace tall trees. Thanks to his staff Taylor, Fernando, Ryan and Rita. Great work. He came referred. read more

California Arborist had an estimator out to my home the day I called. He heard my thoughts and then he added some other necessary items that I agreed with once he pointed them out. The day of the tree trimming, two big trucks pulled up in front of my home and the crew set out immediately to do the work. They were fast and thorough. My backyard is cleaner than it has been in a while and it is just beautiful. I recommend them. read more

They came on time, worked hard and really cleaned up after trimming four large trees. Very professional and friendly workers. Tony, the lead person, answered all my questions and checked with me often to assure that I was satisfied. All in all a very satisfying experience and I would not hesitate to recommend them. read more

I can highly recommend this business. Don is an arborist and is extremely knowledgeable about trees and related topics. By far the best we have ever used, and over the years we have used quite a few. We will use them again when needed because Don goes out of his way to do whatever is necessary to make sure his customers are happy. We had three trees that needed work done in the front and back, and they did a great job. If you think any gardener can trim a tree, you are very mistaken. This guy knows his stuff. If you think this might be a fake review please feel free to call my cell 323-459-7798. read more

I live in La Habra Heights and have a ton of trees on my property. They came out and gave me a super reasonably priced quote. The best deal was to get them to send a crew out and do 8 hours worth of work. They came out and did an excellent job!!!! They took out a huge pine tree adjacent to my chimney, a pepper tree dangerously hanging over my garage and trimmed back like 3-4 trees. They navigated all of this down my steep driveway (having to manually lug it all up by hand). They then got on my roof and blew off all the debris and picked up pretty much every single leaf. I hardly leave reviews but this company deserves 10 stars! I'll def be calling them back in the years to come!! read more

At last a company that responds! Communication and office support were great. Fernando quoted and was here to supervise as well. They were courteous, hard working, professional and respectful not to damage my existing avocado tree. This time they did some digging/hauling/leveling/nad hole digging for me. I will definitely use them again and refer them to others. read more

My family has been using CA Arborist for years for our trees, hillside, and hard scape. We are currently replacing a pergola that was completely covered in wisteria and we were truly afraid for our beloved wisteria's life. The process has been smooth and the wisteria is doing great after demo. Every employee I work with is a pleasure to speak to. Don encouraged us to get creative with the pergola design and had great suggestions. I definitely recommend this company and will be a loyal customer myself for years to come read more

California arborist has been trimming our 40+ year old carrot wood tree for many years. They are extremely fast and efficient. They arrive with a virtual army working like a well-oiled team - one guy up the tree, one guy prepping the chipper, two or three clearing branches and bam, done. They are fast but havent damaged any property and do a good job of cleanup. (Sometimes too good. I like to keep a little leaf litter under the tree to keep the weeds from intruding, if I don't remind them, its clean as a whistle.) read more

I have several water valves break in my sprinkler system. We live in La Habra Heights and saw California Arborist in Height Life. Figured they would understand a complex system for lots of land. Called and spoke with "Rita" who scheduled two people to come out the following day. It ended up that I had a larger problem because wires were broken under ground as well as the valve. The following day I received an estimate which was very competitive. I called and scheduled and the guys did the work. The process was pretty seamless and best of all my broken valves are no longer leaking and my wires are once again connect and the system is working. The service was so seamless I called them back to add a new hose bib, clean up some land that had deteriorated and cut a few trees. Again great customer service and got just what I asked for. I've decided to do hard scape work where pavers need to be replaced as the person who previously placed did not do correctly and pavers are moving as sand has dissolved. They will also fixed cracks in the stamped concrete. I'll keep you informed. read more

We have an Avacado tree that was growing lopsided from not being properly trimmed. It also had leaves that didn't look great. California Arborist came over and gave me a free evaluation, told me what fertilizer to get & use & when to have the trimming done. I took the suggestion and am very pleased with the outcome. They were prompt, did a great job & took all the trimmings away with them. The price was fair and the tree looks healthy & I'm Happy! read more

I cannot say enough about how amazing California Arborist and their employees are! I first contacted them in reference to my tree in my front yard, I thought it was dying and Fernando came out the same day to let me know what was going on and told me what I needed to do, very informative...(btw: the tree wasn't dying) Today my tree is Beautiful and green!! Recently our home insurance company conducted an in person inspection of our property. We were advised the trees on the backyard hillside were too close to the garage creating a fire hazard. I have used California Arborist for tree trimming in the past. I called Don and made a appointment for an estimate. We had decided to have several trees removed and most of the hillside vegetation cut way back. Don responded promptly and gave us a fair estimate. Don's crew responded and did a great job. I took photos of the hillside and sent them to the insurance company showing we were in compliance. We highly recommend California Arborist. read more

I have a 16 year old California Pepper Tree that I LOVE and would never have just anybody trim and shape. The only ones I've ever trusted to take care of my tree are California Arborist. From the friendly woman who answers the phone (Rita), to the man who bids the job (Fernando), to the one who runs the job (Juan), and his entire crew...I know my special tree is in great hands! I had my yearly trim today, and my tree looks amazing! The crew also thins out and shapes a number of small trees in my backyard (redbuds, sky flowers, magnolia, etc.), and they all turned out exactly like I asked for them to be done. There are many tree "hackers" out there, but very few professional tree trimmers who really know their stuff AND listen to the customer's concerns and desires. California Arborist is definitely the latter, and will be trimming my precious trees for many years to come! read more

I have used California Arborists for two large jobs. One was for a huge 50 year old Oak tree and a skyscraper pine tree. They were meticulous taking them down and grinding the stumps. It was a huge job and when they left, they left my yard completely cleaned of all debris. On my second job, another huge oak, also 50 years old in my back yard. I only wanted it shaped and thinned out. All I can say is they are very thorough and take their time deciding which limbs and overgrowth to remove. I'm very pleased with their work as well as their prices. I will be using them for all my trimming and recommend them if you have valuable trees. Judy Kelley Brea, California read more

They were great, from the estimate to the response time to the crew to the results. My bias was to hire a smaller outfit, but as much as I like several other bidders and what they had to say about our needs, the CA Arborist estimate was at least as knowledgable and hundreds of dollars less. In the end, they took care of our trees and saved us a ton of money. read more

Our community hired CA Arborist for several years for landscaping and during a windstorm tree limbs broke off and fell to ground. We shopped around for competitive quotes to remove the downed limbs. This procedure upset Don the owner as he thinks that his company is automatically entitled to the job. Needless to say, his quote was three times the price of his competitors and was not selected for the job. During a meeting, he became irate and used profanity to grieve about the current landscaping contract with us and that it's an insult not selecting his company to do the aforementioned job. He left the meeting and stated he quit the landscaping contract effectively immediately (no prior notice was given). I don't think the owner is mentally stable. read more

I called to get an estimate on trimming my dwarf lime tree, which he did and also gave me some extra pointers. The estimate was scheduled and completed very professionally. We have a 50 year old Brazilian Pepper tree in our front yard. California Arborist came out yesterday to prune the tree and did the best job on that tree. We are more than happy with their work. We have used California Arborist as our tree and shrub 'caretakers' for at least a dozen years. Always, the work that is done is done promptly, professionally and competitively. The crew arrives on-time and cleans up completely when they're finished. We've had some major work done...they had to remove 12 dead/dying trees and replace them with large 'boxed' trees. We've also had some smaller work done by them. That included planting shrubs, trimming fruit trees. If there is ever a question or concern, it is taken care of. All-in-all I recommend California Arborist with no reservations. read more

We are required to keep our land cleared of fire hazards to stay in compliance and pass a yearly inspection. It's a pretty big job. Communication with their office staff was excellent. We will be using them again. read more

We have used them three times, so are returning customers but it had been a number or years. Scheduling was a snap and Fernando gave a knowledgeable and fair assessment for our tree removal (one tree quite large and near a wall). Scheduling the service was easy and the team was able to come out quickly. We were told a general time frame at the time of scheduling and a follow up call the day before to confirm the timing. The confirmed time was a bit earlier than we had planned for, but worked out ok. The team was pulling up at 7:30 as I left to drop my kids off at school and they had taken down two trees (one very large!) with minimal mess and no damage by the time I got home. I couldn't believe how efficient they were. The foreman walked the job with me to make sure that everything looked correct and was able to take payment at that time. So easy I wish we had done it years ago! read more

California Arborist also does hardscape and landscape! When the pavers around my backyard firepit separated, sank and became loose due to hillside creep, I contacted California Arborist to repair the damage.
