Let me start off by saying "the food is great". We ordered from the Ethiopian menu, and everything we ordered was realy good. They have this Ethiopian bread that all their dishes come with, and it's a fluffy yet interesting textured bread, if not for the food, then order something just to try the bread. The parking is very convenient and always available, right in front of the restaurant. The help is very knowledgeable of their items on their menu, and very nice/helpful. The bill was very reasonable for everything that we had ordered. With two people, two drinks an appetizer, and two plates came up to about $37. read more

Sunday morning breakfast is our thing. With that said, we won't be back here. We don't mind that the prices per plate were on avg $2-3 more than other comparable places for comparable meals. The food was decent, but the service is what did it for us. Servers were not rude, but also not friendly. We stood awkwardly in the middle of the cafe for a minute until we were directed to sit at the 'reserved for handicap' table infront of the door. (We are not handicap). We have a 2 year old with us and were not asked about a high chair or booster. They were slow to take drink orders and even slower to return for the food order. Once our food was on the table, the server never returned to refill drinks or check to see if we needed anything. We were given 2 jelly packets for 4 (8 halves) of toast. When we were able to get somebody's attention to ask for more jelly, she brought 1 more and set it on the edge of her way out the door. We sat with our plates cleared and stacked for 15 minutes waiting for the check, before we stood up to head to the counter. This place was a real disappointment. read more

Carne Asada Omelette!!!!!! This was what I ordered and it was extremely delicious!! I've been living in LA for quite some time and always drive past this restaurant, but never had any of their food. So on my way home, I gave it a try and the customer service was excellent. Food came out quick and was very tasty! Come with omelette, hash brown and toast. Tonight when wanting to order on NY Eve we checked a bunch of places and everywhere had at least a 1 hour wait for ordering and delivery. We decided to order from Rach Side Cafe but then saw on their website they were closed. We didn't know if that was valid so called (it was 6:05). The lady who answered was friendly and told us that they closed at 6:00 tonight however she was pleasant and happily got our order in despite already being closed. I'm so happy I found this place. With COVID and new restrictions, this establishment is doing an excellent job adapting! I wanted to write about my experience. The owners are so polite, respectful and hardworking. Everything is cooked inside when you order, so you'll be getting fresh food. There is an outdoor seating area with perhaps 7 tables. The menus are there too but you can scan a code using your smart phone as well. There is a bottle of hand sanitizer available in the front too. The food is delicious and worth the wait! Neither this Tri Tip, nor the Pulled Pork sandwiches were phenomenal, but they were pretty decent. =SERVICE= The service wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. The food did come out pretty quickly, and our very friendly waitress had no trouble getting the bill the 2nd time we asked. =FINAL VERDICT= Since it's really close to Angeles Shooting Range, and we go about once a month, we were bound to stop by at least one time. I would not imagine that such great brunch place exists in this area. Thanks to Yelp! We came here on a Saturday hitting the brunch commotion. In the menu are Ethiopians dishes. A plus! So we ordered the Ethiopian fir fir(shredded injera with spices and steak) and topped with 2 over-easy eggs and the Tri-tip omelette. Both are super tasty with tolerable level of spiciness. Liked them both! Mimosas were $2.99 a glass with more alcohol than the OJ. ;) Staff were attentive and very efficient. Free wi-fi too. Abundant parking. Wall paintings were interesting! read more

This rating for this place is of the Ethiopian food only. I haven't tried any of the American or Mexican Food yet. This is one of the best-kept secrets of The San Fernando valley. I love Ethiopian food, having had the real thing in its namesake country. I've tried some of the Ethiopian places in L.A. and beyond the attempts at Ethiopian-experience atmospheres, the food has usually been disappointing. This restaurant, however, also run by an Ethiopian, is a real surprise. It looks like your standard SW & saddle cafe, but the Ethiopian food is excellent. It's among the best in my experience outside Ethiopia. She has genuine black Ingira bread (white is much more common, so this is really special) made by hand locally in North Hollywood, and uses only olive oil in the food rather than cheaper alternatives. BerBere spice is abundant, and they feature several selections in generous portions. Although arranged in entre'-fashion for American expectations, all the best of Ethiopia is there. Plus, they even do take-out. Living only a few minutes away, I feel like I landed in heaven. I only rate then 4 stars for using regular salt instead of sea salt, and the place being a little sub-par in cleanliness. Regardless, I am looking forward to trying their more conventional cafe fare on some leisurely weekend. read more

It is an absolute must if you're in the area. I got the tri-tip barbecue sandwich with coleslaw and it was like my mom made it but way better. The coleslaw was perfect and the barbecue sandwich was a good size. It had great flavor and the portion was what I expected. The staff was very friendly. We also had their sweet potato fries which were crispy hot and delicious. It made our day. It's an easy stop off the 210 freeway. If you are eating plant based , try their veggie plate. It is delicious. The vegetables are tasty and there is a good variety PDC tastes and textures. This is very satisfying and filling - not just lettuce and tomatoes etc but cooked veg. It reminded me of a Buddha bowl - one of my favorite ways to eat plant based. It's served with a gluten free bread which to me is more like a thin pancake - served as a base for the vegetables. I ordered a lentil filled sambusa as a side dish. I lot of us have been eating here for years. The food is good the service is great. The lady that owns it is the soul of the place. She is highly cooperative, excellent sense of humor and she works very hard to keep the place running as well as it does. During the summer when it's hot she has opened up an hour early to accommodate our little group. My son lives out of state but just loves her Ethiopian menu, I believe he visits more for her food than his dad.
