This is one of my favorite breakfast spots. I almost always order the corned beef hash (extra crispy), over easy eggs with hash browns or country potatoes. Many of their breakfast dishes are really good. If you're interested in something different I recommend their Ethiopian food too. I like to get a side of their injera to add to my order. The owner will sometimes make fresh baked goods like peach cobbler that you can pick up, it's not every week so you'll have to come back and check periodically. read more

Over many years, my family and I have enjoyed the awesome meals at this unique restaurant located in a beautiful country area. The interior is richly decorated with classic murals of the movie and music industry and the old west as well. The cuisine is diverse: Mexican, American and Ethiopian selections of delicious homemade style meals. The service is very friendly and efficient, given with a smile and the warmth of a family member. We feel at home here at the Ranch Side Cafe. Bravo: Zee and Weyni.. read more

Excellent staff. They care for the community and the food is pretty dang good! The Ethiopian food is delicious! I am especially fond of the "bread" that comes with most of the plates. If you've never had food from Ethiopia, do yourself a favor and try it out here! read more

We live close by so we eat here all the time. I love their cashew chicken salad, mucho macho burrito, biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict and grilled cheese with tomato. They're also dog-friendly and will bring you a dog bowl of water for your furry friend while you eat on their patio. This is one of our favorite places to stop for a meal on the weekends. read more

Wanted to give you an update!we went here on Saturday for lunch , service was fast and I got the Chile releno lunch special! Wife got a salad! That Chile releno one of the best I've ever had! As a local and after passing by this restaurant for many years and never actually taking the time to check it out until recently, I regret not checking it out sooner. Wanting something super nearby to have a quick meal, I finally decided to give ranch side cafe a try. We were greeted with very welcoming and warm service and found that the cafe itself is very cozy and decorated to fit a ranch theme which is very fitting for the area. I ended up trying their breakfast burrito and hash browns and the food was so delicious. Will definitely come back to try more of their fast menu including the Ethiopian food which is a rare find. Our waitress recommended the peach cobbler as it's made in house, and having never tried peach cobbler before, I'm glad that this place made the first impression. Overall, I'm glad that I finally gave this local restaurant a try, and we'll definitely be coming back again in the future! read more

Carne Asada Omelette!!!!!! This was what I ordered and it was extremely delicious!! I've been living in LA for quite some time and always drive past this restaurant, but never had any of their food. So on my way home, I gave it a try and the customer service was excellent. Food came out quick and was very tasty! Come with omelette, hash brown and toast. Great prices and friendly staff that work here! I will definitely be coming back regularly! Mimosas are a must!!! read more

The quality of their food and drink preparations is nowhere near worth the cost they charge.

I've actually passed by this location for years, and it was hidden in plain sight, but I finally had a friend take me. I hike in the area and now it's good to know there's a good grub spot close by. Interestingly diverse menu, but a lot of options that'll stick to your ribs as well as Ethiopian options; we had a little of each. Staff was really nice, place is decent-sized, clean and decorated with some nice art and celebrity paintings. read more

After getting off a 14 hr shift I decided to search for breakfast burrito with in 5-10 mile radius of my destination being home . Noticed Ranch Side Cafe come up with there great reviews decided I'd get just that immediately called and asked to order a breakfast burrito half bacon and half sausage with avocado as well. The nice lady informed me it be ready in about 15 mins. Arrived and was greeted by who I believe took my order and she was very kind /welcoming even though she seemed to have a lot going on and a decent amount of customers. Promptly gave me my food and asked if I'd like any condiments and informed me they had a salsa bar as well. While Grabbing some of that noticed the place had a nice country type decor and vibe to was pretty cool and different. Realized I couldn't even wait to get home so sat on my bike and I ate the entire thing so fast and with there salsa and was in heaven didn't want to finish it so started to slowly savor it while contemplating ordering another I swear. I can honestly say they have one of the best breakfast burritos I've had in my life.If I had to say even one negative thing at all it would be that the burrito was slightly on the smaller side compared to most but it was so ridiculously delicious it made up for that ten fold in my books I just know I'll be there soon ordering that ASAP! As well as looking forward to trying a lot of there other interesting menu items !!! read more

My son enjoys this place he's 15. He says one of the best burgers in our area. Nice neighborhood spot great staff.

What a surprise gem. Their vegan Ethiopian plate is amazing - the cabbage might be the best I've ever had. The owners are LOVELY. It's clean, cute, service is great, nice selection of beer and wine - sweet ambiance - and for someone who only eats plants - it was such a treat to find these obscure and delicious menu options - from the injera to the dal - these people care and it shows in everything they do. yes. yes. yes. read more

Ranch Side Cafe - Vegan Ethiopian Plate with Chardonnay - American Near Me - Sylmar, California

Ranch Side Cafe (so named because of its location near horse ranches in the area) is a great place to have Ethiopian food, Mexican food and American diner food all at the same time. Make sure you ask for the Ethiopian menu; when you are seated, you will probably be given the Mexican-American menu. I've had the vegetarian plate with injera (Ethiopian sourdough bread with a wonderful sponginess) and various savory stews served directly on top of the round bread. It's fun to tear off pieces of the bread and use it to sample each dish. Service was friendly and helpful and there's Wi-Fi. Street and lot parking is free. And there's cool art work on the walls (plus celebrity autographs if you're in the mood for looking.....!) read more

A GEM in pacomia. Large menu, standard American food, pancakes, eggs, omelets, Mexican food, burritos, fajitas, chiliquleas, and their specialty, Ethiopian food! We ordered Ethiopian, and it was delicious. Never had it before. Taste almost like Indian food. I saw most customers ordering basic breakfast. There's only 1 cook so it took a while to get our food. My meal consisted of 2 pieces of chicken in a tasty sauce, 3 small sides of veggies, wrapped in Ethiopian bread.. the bread soaks up the sauce.. delicious. Wife had a lentil/ mushroom dish which also was delicious. Ethiopian menus is small, I figure they couldn't survive only selling Ethiopian food. Definitely family owned. Give this place a try. I'd actually like to try one if the sandwiches next time, but would probably try a different Ethiopian meal. We will definitely be back ! read more

I ordered breakfast, eggs, bacon and potatoes w/toast and side of fruit. Nothing special. I paid $24.00 plus a 5.00 tip. I think it's the only place in the area so they up the price's. Not due to inflation just because they can. They've always been rather pricey. The owners are nice thankfully and females. The restaurant is always clean also. It's been there for yrs. And people seem to frequent it on a regular basis. I forgot to take a picture. read more

What a great find! Indoor and outdoor dining. LOTS of menu options, American, Mexican, Ethiopian...who would have known? Recommend the pastrami, lean, not fatty. Warmest, friendliest service from the server, who I later learned was the owner's daughter. The owner also came out to check on us and personally delivered our drinks. I ordered the french toast slam - french toast, eggs, bacon and sausage. It looked so good, my one year old immediately dug in. The portion was fulfilling, the prices reasonable and I can't wait to come back! Places like this remind me of the value of a family-owned business. read more

We were traveling and had been on the road for about 7hrs and needed some good food (read NOT fast food!) Such a cute little bistro with friendly staff and good energy! I got a heathy low-carb wrap with grilled chicken, my husband got a cheeseburger and fries. Everything was made to order, fresh, and delicious with good portions. Very easy on and off the freeway too! My only regret...this place is about 6hrs from home. But we'll stop again when we're in the area! read more
