I started a review on Google but it wouldn't let me finish. So I will begin again. Dr. Ramus is a scam artist. I began seeing him year or so ago. My teeth were in very bad shape and he promised to make them as good as new. To put crowns on my top 8 teeth and for my oral surgeon who had done some great work and was just down the hall and recommended him and would do two implants as I had four teeth pulled I got an estimate close to $30,000. I wanted my beautiful smile back so we agreed. I wanted my teeth whitened first so we started there. Everything went smoothly in the office and I was given a baggie with toothpaste and the whitening product so I could continue at home. No further instructions were given. That night I experienced terrible pain and called the emergency number. It took a good 30 minutes to get a call back and then it was only the receptionist Ruth. She told me I had been given all the instructions, however as a retired nurse I am very good at listening and following instructions and neither were given. Red Flag #1. The doctor also made me a small denture for the gap where my teeth had been pulled for $2,500 and it never fit well, I couldn't wear it for very long without much discomfort and he had to adjust it multiple times. At some point in this time I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia which is a very painful condition. He went ahead and put on the top 8 temporaries. I called the next day to complain of severe pain. He completely brushed me off and said he hadn't done anything to cause any pain. How arrogant. The patient is telling you she has pain and you dismiss her. Red Flag #2. I had a very important event I was going to attend with my husband in the near future and wanted my teeth to look beautiful. Then I get a phone call from Dr. Ramus's office and am told that he and my pain specialist had decided, without consulting me or my consent that he would discontinue treatment because I was in pain. Ha!!! Suddenly I'm in pain. Anyway, I'm a grown woman, capable of making my own decisions and don't need someone's permission to continue treatment. So my wonderful husband decided to do a ton of research and found two specialists in Palm Desert who were more than happy to take on this challenge. One does crowns and the sort and one does implants. I got a quote and it was so much less, plus during my consultation they both sat down with me and my husband and listened to everything that had happened and how upset I was and spent a good hour just listening. Smiley face. The dentist had a really tough time removing the temporaries. Shoddy work. My words, not his. But soon I had pearly white crowns. I was so happy. I got to go to my event and look beautiful. So I had to have brain surgery to fix the Trigeminal Neuralgia and recovered nicely but then I found out I had TMJ and spent several months wearing a splint to realign my jaw. Fortunately right after the implant doctor did the beginning of four implants. Which take 3-6 months to heal before they put in the top parts. However they made me a new denture to fit over that, $1,000. Which means I threw $2,500 in the trash. You can see the price gouging going on. Beverly Hills is not the be all and end all of where to go for the best of anything. Plus Palm Desert is a 45 minute drive versus 3 hours. Woo Hoo. So yesterday, October 8th, I got 3 Permanent crowns and 2 veneers on my bottom teeth and with all that I think we may be close to the $30,000 mark. After I get my implants, I need to see the TMJ specialist, so he can check my jaw alignment and then the dentists can work on the rest of my teeth which also need crowns. Then my gorgeous smile will be complete. Everyone at the Palm Desert office treats me as though I am important and valuable. That is how a patient who spends a lot of money or really any patient should be treated. With kindness and compassion. Everyone is replaceable. I simply refuse to believe that in all his years of practice he does not have one single negative review. The odds of that are astronomical. Go figure. He will probably delete this. read more
