Dr. Tamura is a wonderful Dentist and he is a kind a caring person. The office is quiet and comfortable and Robert who assists him is just terrific. I was happy to see Dr. Tamura after making the mistake of leaving because I was hoping to find a dentist walking distance from my home. Big mistake!! I am just glad I am back with the dentist I know and I trust! read more

Dr. Tamura is the first dentist I visited based on a recommendation--and he's also the first one I've recommended to others. Honest to god, you just have to go see him to understand. His kindness and expertise will win you over, and he makes the whole experience so positive that you might actually find yourself looking forward to flossing every day! read more

Dr. Tamura is a caring and knowledgeable dentist. He and Robert are an excellent team. They go above and beyond in every way that is important to a patient. I have had a lot of dental work during my lifetime, so I've come to appreciate superb dental professionals. Never have I found such a warm and cozy dental practice! For years, my friend has been raving about his extraordinary experiences. He assured me Dr. Tamura and Robert are top-notch, honest, and genuine. Now that I am a patient, I agree, and I couldn't be happier trusting Dr. Tamura with my oral health. read more

I've had 3 root canals in the last decade and dealt with so many complications regarding my teeth. Because of that, I've been to numerous dentists in SoCal from expensive to low-end family dentists. I wasn't fully satisfied with my dentist experiences until I found Dr Daniel Tamura. He is caring, thorough & transparent in his approach. He explains what he's doing & even calls to check up on me. As a patient, those are the things I value and appreciate. His services are also reasonably priced. So I highly recommend you to go him for any dental needs! Thank you Dr Tamura! read more

BEST DENTIST EVER!!! I cannot recommend Dr. Tamura enough, he is quite simply the best! I've gone to him a few times now and every time it's a pleasant visit. Both Dr. Tamura and Robert are awesome people! My first found this place through Castlight after moving to this area. My prior dentist had done some shoddy work which caused me to live in pain. I thought it was something I would have to live with forever but after visiting Dr. Tamura for a routine dental visit, he noticed that my filling was not ideal and recommended I replace it. After replacing it, BOOM... no more pain! It was life changing and I am forever thankful to Dr. Tamura! He is very meticulous and you can tell he really cares! He doesn't try to upsell you on work you don't need. He's honest and is always more than happy to explain anything to you! You also get a great view of LA from his office as well! I've since recommended my girlfriend who also loves him! Any time anyone in this area is looking for a dentist, I always refer them to Dr. Tamura. If you're looking for one, look no further, you've found your future dentist! :) read more

It had been a year since my previous cleaning, so despite my reservations with covid stuff, I went in for an appointment in mid-November. The office is taking every possible precaution. I was the only patient in the office the entire time I was there. They have air filters running in every room. Everyone is wearing a mask (Dr. Tamura also has a face shield on) and there's a plastic barrier at the front desk. You get your temperature taken and answer screening questions before you're even allowed in the waiting room. Dr. Tamura had me rinse with a hydrogen peroxide solution before treating me. I felt really safe the whole time I was there. And a bonus: no cavities! read more

Absolutely excellent dentist. Very kind and thorough he spent a lot of time explaining what he was doing. I have seen a lot of dentists and he is hands down the best I have been to. If you are looking for a good honest dentist in Los Angeles look no further than Dr. Tamura!! read more

"I'm an actor and I've been a patient of Dr. Tamura for almost 20 years. He is THE BEST dentist I've ever had in my life. My career has been up and down, in good times and hard times and though it all Dr. Tamura has been there for me. Over the years I had lost the confidence of my smile and recently Dr. Tamura gave me a long desired new grill and I'm so proud of my teeth! I can't stop taking selfies! And the best part is I haven't heard anyone saying, "Oh wow! You got new teeth!!!" My smile looks like it did when I was younger, only better! I'm so grateful to Dr. Tamura. He's not only a kind, caring person who is a really good dentist bu also an artist who loves his work." read more

Daniel Tamura, DDS - General Dentistry Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I am writing this review as a result of my recent visits to Dr Tamura's office. This is my first yelp review ever but I felt compelled to share my experience as it was such a pleasant one. Having grown up with a mother in the dental field I only have fond memories of my trips to the dentist and in my search for a new dentist it is a high bar that has been set in terms of what I look for and expect. From the office manager Robert, who is friendly and welcoming and efficient to Dr Tamura who also shares those same qualities in addition to being an amazing dentist who has clearly been practicing dentistry for a while because his work is impeccable. The office is clean and bright and I couldn't be happier that I have found my new dentist. I highly recommend this place to anyone who may be in search of a new dentist. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Tamura for years. This office is the antidote of factory dentistry. It is an individual office, Dr. Tamura does everything himself including X-Ray and cleaning and nothing is ever rushed. It is peaceful and relaxed (am I saying that about a dental office) and you get to look at a beautiful views of Los Angeles and Santa Monica Mountains. read more

I gave an earlier review in which I, like so many others, raved about this dentist. And, now there is something new: he has a dental plan that, for the price of two cleanings a year elsewhere, there are many other preventative services included and a discount on additional dental work provided in his office. For the many of us without dental insurance this is wonderful! Thank you Dr. Tamura -- I would add a 6th star if I could. read more

I've been going to Dr. Tamura since 2001. In this time, I have moved away(back home) to the Bay Area between 2008-2011. It is within this time frame, when I was being treated by several highly recommended Dentists, that I was really able to see just how great Dr. Tamura really was. Around 2002, I got a Staph infection in my neck area, that required me to have several surgeries to try to clean up the area, and remove any dead tissue. The effects my Staph infection had on my teeth was severe.Several of my teeth simply "fell" out for no reason (being completely health teeth). And it appeared that, in time(they estimated approx.a 10-year span, I'd problem loosing a large percentage of my teeth, if they were not able to figure out a course of action. This scared me, like I can not explain. I do not have dental insurance either, so I was very scared, that ,I would, one day have to get dentures... It was a kick to my self-esteem, not to mention, my dental health(teeth/dental is SO key to good health),as well as,chewing comfortably, and how would I explain this to a date/potential boyfriend, without sounding so unattractive...not to mention, If things got serious...(Ugh)! I ended up moving back to Los Angeles, and was so happy to be able to go back to Dr. Tamura. He took the time to really listen(we talked for hours in consultation). He said he would do some research and confer with his colleagues, on what would be the beat course of action,to take,to try to save as many teeth as possible, keeping in mind my budget and nonexistence dental insurance. Dr. Tamura is a originally from Orange County, and is a graduate from USC dental. On top of this, and what I find to be Just as important, is his years of experience. He has such a "no-nonsense" approach, combined with Common sense, when it comes to coming up with a treatment plan/ course of action. I didn't feel like(as I have with other dentists), that I was paying for all there "new" latest and expensive high tech equipment. It is obvious Dr. Tamura's equipment is advanced and well used...not being overcharged to pay off all of it. But, back to what I like most about Dr. Tamura, is is Practical sense of dentistry. He has the prestigious schooling(USC), and the years of experience, and stay active on learning the latest techniques(he seems to really love what he does), but, most important to me, was his practicality in solving a problem...just basic good old fashion common sense! That is something I had found, when I saw several other dentists, was just their lack to "think outside the box(or should I say textbook)". Dr. Tamura solved a lot of my problems throw trial and error(without charging me for these), because, I felt, he wanted to truly Solve my unconventional problems the best way he could. He put in many hours after work on my case, again, without charging me over the original treatment plan. I paid upfront 100% of the treatment plan, and several 'New' and 'Unexpected' things came up, but Dr. Tamera didn't charge me ANY additional money!! This also, brings me to Dr. Daniel Tamura's pricing for the extensive amount of work he did on my teeth. Dr. Tamura's pricing is significantly Lower than the other dentist I have been too. For example, I use to go to a fellow USC graduate dentist, who was younger, with All the whistles and bells equipment(which I never needed). When I got his pricing, I was floored at the cost for the basic dental work. When I asked how come the prices where approx. 200% higher than the average dentist, in the LA area, he said, I was getting the best trained dentist(USC) and all the latest equipment available. With Dr. Tamura, I got SAME dental training plus, you get such a well rounded dentist, common Sense, and VERY Fair pricing, you realize that you really found a dentist for life! Not to mention, I was Refered to Dr. Tamura, when I asked my Primary Beverly Hills Doctor, for a suggestion of a dentist to go to, and (to no surprise to me now), he goes to Dr. Tamura himself! To sum up this review, I couldn't recommend Dr. Tamura enough. As of last week, I have had approx. 85% of my teeth: root canals and crowns, along with 2 bridges. As of last week, we put in my veneers(front teeth), that matched all the other crowns. My smile looks Fantastic!! Not "too white" and not "too perfect".He took a mold in the beginning of my regular teeth, and which he followed when making the molds of the veneers & crowns(an example of just common sense/experience, that I spoke on before). To Sum up Dr. Tamura, dds: 1) He's EXTREMELY fair in his pricing 2) He is Very GENTLE 3) His years of experience 4) A graduate of USC's prestigious dental school 5) My primary MD Uses Dr. Tamura for himself 6) His Practicality, in solving problems 7) I Paid, in full, for my treatment plan at the beginning, and despite finding Additional problems, he NEVER added any additional charges. read more

I don't love going to the dentist, but I really enjoyed seeing Dr. Tamura. It's a no-frills environment, but I was very impressed with the quality of work and personalized service, but even more amazed that he does everything himself (x-rays, cleanings, etc) rather than a hygienist - so you really get his full, undivided attention. I very highly recommend. read more

Favorite dentist ever? The answer is Yes. Dr. Tamura strikes the right balance between vigilant enforcer of oral health and a guy so skilled and likable that the sharp objects in your mouth are no trouble at all. I've never felt rushed, I've never felt upsold. He's also really great at knowing just how much pressure to apply about bettering one's dental hygiene! When it's time for an appointment with Dr. Tamura and Robert, I'm actually happy about it ... something to be thankful for. read more

Dr. Tamura truly changed the way I feel about going to the dentist. I used to be so nervous about even going for a checkup that years would go by without a dentist visit! I lived in LA for about three years before a good friend recommended Dr. Tamura and I haven't looked back since. He's amazing at what he does, answers all your questions, and truly cares about his patients. Jason (who runs the front office) is wonderfully warm and sweet. I never thought I could actually enjoy coming to the dentist but now I really do! I've recommended him to multiple friends and will definitely keep doing so! read more

I've been going to Dr. Tamura since 2010 and couldn't be happier. As Chris W said, he is kind and gentle. He's also very thorough and does all the cleaning himself. He and his assistant Jason make the environment very friendly and soothing. read more

Really the best dentist I have ever had in my life. Kind, patient, and great at what he does. I recently had a pain in my jaw and called him about it. He checked in with me a week later to see how I was. Truly outstanding. Can;t recommend more highly! read more

He is absolutely the best dentist, ever. He is gentle, meticulous - great work with attention to detail and aesthetics - and conscientious (would NEVER treat your mouth as an ATM). And a great guy overall. read more

I had my first appointment with Dr. Tamura today and it was the first time a dentist hasn't reduced me to a ball of nerves. He does all the work himself as other reviewers have said, and obviously takes great pride in it--as he should. He fixed my crown, and I'm going back for a teeth cleaning in a few weeks. It'll probably be the first dentist appointment I don't dread, because of wonderful Dr. Tamura is and how great he is at dentistry. He discussed options for treatment and care with me, explained everything he was doing, and took his time to evaluate the troublesome tooth and figure out how to best fix it. I also really appreciated how helpful and kind the office manager, Jason, was when I called to schedule my semi-emergency appointment. Great practice, great dentist, great office manager. I felt very calm in his office, and I know my teeth and their health couldn't be in better hands. Highly, highly recommend. read more
