We broke down near Dunsmuir in bad weather with our 2 dogs. David the tow driver went above and beyond his duties to help us out. He recommended Brooks Complete Auto Repair to fix our Dodge Diesel pickup. He also took us to a pet friendly Best Western in mt. Shasta who's hospitality was great. Brooks Complete Auto Repair knew Diesel trucks well and fixed the cracked fuel injector line just like David said , great mechanics at a great price. Our experience in Mt. Shasta with the kindest people everywhere we went made this experience one of a kind in a good way. I had the unfortunate experience of having this tow company show up to a AAA request for my vehicle. It had a flat tire and my boys couldn't figure it out so they called AAA and they sent us RAMSHAW towing. The weather was snowing as to why my boys went skiing. On the way home they had a flat tire. As usual we called AAA. Boy did they send us the wrong people. They said that they couldn't fix it and would only tow them 30 miles or to the nearest place they could. Whatever that means? We needed them to do the tow to Redding (which it says on their website they do). They were afraid that if they did that their driver wouldn't be able to get back to his house because of the snow. So luckily my son has a friend who lives near there and they were able to drop him off there. But if he had not had that friend he said the driver was going to drop them off off at his convenience place and then they'll have to find another way home. What??? I've only had something like this happen to me before with a tow company in Yreka. Where they left a stranded truck and trailer on I5 for 10 hours and they only showed up because the police showed up and called the tow company and told them to get their ass over here and help these people before someone gets hurt. No lie it really happened. So I started to make phone calls to the tow people and they hung up on me the first time because I was very upset. And yes I was rude. So then I called back and she immediately put me on hold so I hung up again and told her I'm gonna keep calling until I figure something out and she said well I'm gonna keep hanging up or putting you on hold until I can call somebody so then I called AAA I spoke with them and then they spoke with their main guys and told them everything that happened a tow truck that goes out to fix a flat tire that can't fix a flat tire. He said it was because we didn't have some special key to get the tire out of the truck, but we never had a special key before so I don't know why this was the problem and if they knew that why don't they carry a few keys that they can use or why haven't they made one up? You would think calling a tow truck they would've thought of something by now to help people out and not leave them stranded at whatever the next spot is just because they don't wanna be stuck somewhere because of the snow. I bet you they have several things to open up a locked doors but nothing to unlock tires? I'm sure they have snow tires for their trucks I'm just really confused about the whole thing Then expect some young boys to take care of themselves in the middle of nowhere in a car that has a flat tire because he doesn't want to drive them to Reading because he might get stuck here and not be able to get home. isn't that a tow truck job is to tow somebody he could've stayed the night and Reading if he didn't couldn't make it home I'm just totally confused at what the owner of the company and I've forgotten his name already I know it's three letters but whatever and then the girl to hang up on me when I'm worried mother about her son calling and telling her that the tow trucks going to just drop them off and they're going to be stuck somewhere I think people should really worry about tow trucks between the Oregon border and Redding California because none of those little cities and their little trucksp go anywhere so that they're people are safe but they don't want to make the people they're supposed to help be safe very confusing to me. I hope people really don't use these people or if you do make sure that you have whatever you need to take care of it yourself, but call them to help you out or just don't get stuck because they might not want to help you either and yeah I'm really pissed so this does not sound good at all and those people were very rude very rude. They should've said I understand we're working on it we're doing this we're doing that we're gonna do this, but no, they had a terrible attitude when they were speaking to a mother who was totally worried about her children, sorry guys but y'all messed up big time!!! And if they didn't do anything wrong then why did they say that they're not charging for the tow. WTF We have AAA and get it for free so why would they not want to get paid??? Interesting and now I've found out that it's the drivers 1st snow tow and he only has been working for 5 months in the trade. Then my son said that he used a long screwdriver to get the tire off. So I would ask myself if I would want someone like him taking care of your family member? I know for a fact that I will never use or recommend them to anybody ever. Me being upset about my child being left in the snow at night and no way of getting real help and having the person who answered the phone not to realize that I'm a protective parent and when they need help and I can't I do what I can and AAA sends us untrained unsupervised unprofessional people it scares me. read more

I was traveling from Las Vegas to Portland and had a tire blowout off of the 89 in the middle of nowhere AAA called Ranshaw 's towing and they said they would be on their way. 6 1/2 hours went by we watched Ramshaw's towing trucks drive by two times with a empty truck and they never came to get us. If you have AAA tell them to never call Ramshaw!!! The tow truck driver that we spoke with was very very rude and didn't care that we have been stuck for two days I need to get home to our children. read more

SUCH AN AWESOME COMPANY!!! DEFINITELY GIVE THESE GUYS A GO. A week ago I had arrived near my destination of Mt. Shasta, after a week of driving across the country. Upon arrival I had gotten my car stuck in some extremely loose dirt around 10pm, so I had called AAA. After a little while, I received a phone call from Quick (a truck driver there) saying that he had just gotten out of an extremely long day and that he could go and fetch his extractor to pull my car out of the dirt, but he wouldn't arrive until nearly 2am. How generous of him!! After some contemplation and realizing how exhausted he and I probably were, I let him know that I wouldn't mind just crashing for the night and that he should too, and we can figure it out in the morning. The next morning he came and brought his AWESOME personality and helped get my car out of the dirt. His willingness to come help me even at 2am blew me away. He brought it to an auto body shop who refused to work on our car, so Justin waited to see what we wanted to do and offered to drive our car to the nearest subaru shop in redding. He got ahold of the Manager/Owner at KOA and let them know we were coming. Super nice guy and great towing company. Would recommend if you need tow help fast. The tow truck driver drove me back to Redding, told some great stories, and recommended a very good auto body shop. I had flat in Mt Shasta this morning. The driver said he couldn't change my tire because he didn't have an allen wrench. Then he hooked my car up and and another driver towed it to Dunsmuir where I live. But first, he had me go with him while he gassed up and made me wait for a shift change. He also took hour and a half to respond to me. 3 hours of unnessary and unprofessional help time? What kind of a tow company won't change a spare tire? What kind of a tow truck doesn't carry a hex key? All he had to do was change the tire with a simple hex key. Took another hour and a half to tow my car to Dunsmuir. What kind of a tow service won't or is too lazy to change a tire? Complaint filed with AAA. read more

I drove up from Berkeley to Lakehead to assist my mother-in-law who's care broke down. She had Nationwide and so we called them for help with a tow. 9 hours later! We had tried without success to have a tow get to her all night, and then we received a text saying Ramshaw was coming to help us finally. We were excited, exhausted, but grateful this disaster of a day was finally over. I call Ramshaw, and ask what the timing may be because we were needing food and water. They respond "I ain't leaving until you call Nationwide and figure out how Imma get paid. In fact you call them and figure it out." Hang up. Call back. "We don't want to take your call." Keep in mind they had heard we were waiting for 8+ hours, they knew it was pitch black at 10pm at night. Only a heartless, careless, thoughtless, useless person would have that kind of response to a situation where people need their help. If you need their help, they may not likely be there! read more

don't call for a tow unless you have a lot of patience with rude phone operators and 12+ hours to spare regardless of the ease/distance of your tow and ESPECIALLY don't call at 11:30 am thinking they will be able to get your car to the dunsmuir tire shop by 5 because obviously its far too difficult to get a car from mt shasta to dunsmuir within 5 and a half hours so I can get my flat replaced before tomorrow - if my entire day was wasted for a reason it would be different, there are a trillion things more important than me and my problems but it's poor service to not provide any level of communication or explanation for making someone wait in their car for 17 straight hours. they could have at least told me what the delay was, or been any resemblance of friendly. next time I'll just pay someone on Craigslist. car never got towed 17 hours later. They may be a good towing company but they are bad drivers. Just got stuck behind one of them. Trucker and motor home pulled over on steep hill to let everybody pass but not this tow guy. Only going 50 mph and van he was towing bouncing all over. Seriously if your driving slow just pull over you arrogant, rude man! I drove a moving truck across 3 states in a 26ft moving truck and pulled over every chance I got so everyone could be on their way. Quickly loaded the car up and got me into Redding to my mechanic just in time before closing. The driver, Quick is his name, was the nicest guy in the world.
