This company is untrustworthy and terrible to work with. If you should be in a similar situation as me and had a car accident, and have one of their trucks pull up and start hooking up your vehicle, ask them to release the car and drive away. I was in a parking lot after a vehicle accident where the police department had contacted the tow company to assist with the vehicles. I was traveling with my two children and in a rental car. I was on the phone with my insurance company as well as with the rental car company to try and figure out where I needed the car to be towed to. The driver stood next to me and a police officer while I asked him to please return it to the airport rental car location (as opposed to another rental car location that was closer) so that I could get a new rental car. He agreed, and my kids and I received an escort to the rental car location while we awaited delivery of the rental car to the location. After about an hour of waiting, I called the tow company only to find out the driver took the rental car back to the yard. At this point, I realized in the shuffle, I had no receipt, no paperwork, no contact card- just the word of the driver (his name might be Steven) as he was going to be following me over. I thought he was there to help because he was working with the police station. Come to find out that company does not " work with" neither the rental car company nor my insurance company (which of course they never told me in the parking lot.) I tried to explain my situation, as it appeared that was a misunderstanding- this is going to be a claim handled by insurance, I needed a new car and the rental car company needed the old one first. After talking to a horrible woman on the phone, I realized there was no misunderstanding, this company has no problem ripping off people in need. The only resolution Pacific Towing offered in order to release the vehicle was for me to read them my credit card card number over the phone so they could charge me $460.50, and then they would drive the vehicle 12 miles to where we were. She refused my suggestion of having the driver, bring the vehicle and showing me an invoice. I have no receipt, no paperwork whatsoever for this company, and I had to give them my credit card card from the airport in order for them to deliver the vehicle. He eventually showed up at the airport hours later so I could finally get my replacement vehicle and continue my vacation. He offered no apology, only excuses and complaints about how this is going to make the company look bad. How you look someone dead in the face and lie to them and take a vehicle hostage so that you can make money is beyond me. read more

My husband had the bright idea to drive our 2 wheel drive Ford down to the river bed near founders grove. We'd done it before, clearly it would be fine! Ha! He made up for his terrible judgement call by calling AAA and getting in touch with the folks at Pacific Towing. Last Friday (December 19, 2025) a belt broke on my truck. Another tow company from my wife's insurance was going to be 3.5 hours. It was cold and my wife just came from chemotherapy and had the chemo pump going. She was cold. The tow company wouldn't budge. CHP showed up and nudged the tow company down to 1+ hours. CHP called Pacific Towing and they could make it in a half hour. They were on time and Ryan, the driver was a good guy. He got my wife in the tow truck's cab right away. Didn't take him long to hook up the truck, and we were off. He took us to a place that said they could fix it, but when we got there they couldn't. Ryan recommended a mechanic, who fixed my truck by the end of the day (about an hour and a half). I liked the mechanic a lot and will bring my wife's car in to him for a needed repair. Ryan was a great guy, treated us well, and truly cared. He turned a bad situation into a great experience (at least as great as it could be). read more

Told my daughter he should have turned around five miles ago instead of looking for her. Service? This was at the south jetty like a hour ago. This driver acted like he was put out to do his job. If you had to call a tow truck service you are already upset. You don't need a rude tow truck driver on the top that. I am sure this guy has had other complaints. Wow, I'm sorry but the operator that picked up was so rude. I called to get a quote the first time and after asking me where I was and getting the address spelled out, she started going off on how I need to check with my insurance first and not start with them. I figured maybe she had a rough day, I thanked her for the info and did so. Called back after figuring that out (dreading to get her again, which I did) and asked for a quote without insurance, she huffed and started going on about how they're closed and she couldn't give me a quote because she would have to get alllllll my info and contact a driver and it would be an emergency visit. I was put on hold three times for her to come back and tell me it would be an hour wait and $120 she never inquired if I had insurance .She had asked where I was three times. I requested roadside assistance from AAA & notified them that I would prefer not to receive services from Pacific Towing due to a bad experience I had with them just 3 days prior (otherwise I wouldn't be calling for roadside assistance for the 2nd time in 3 days). To my surprise, moments after speaking with AAA, I received a call from someone with Pacific Towing named Shannon. "I just want to know why you don't want our services?" she asked. After explaining my previous experience her response was "well that's not a good reason to not want us to come out today." It was quickly evident that the purpose of this call was not to remedy the situation, but instead an opportunity for Shannon to be defensive, confrontational and argumentative. Rather than trying to reach a resolution, this woman proceeded to address me by stating "let me tell you something, honey" and went on to justify the tow truck drivers negligence 3 days prior. I did my best to keep my composure and told Shannon that I would be filing a complaint with AAA regarding the rude and unnecessary phone call. In response, she called me a "nasty, nasty woman", wished me luck getting assistance from any other local tow companies (threatening that I would be waiting hours and hours for assistance) before then hanging up on me! Unprofessional does not begin to explain this experience! I have NEVER received such horrible service!! To receive a phone call from a business just to be repeatedly insulted & belittled by an angry customer service representative simply because I selected not to utilize their services was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. I'd told her the address I was stranded and she insisted that address "does not exist" and that I'd have to find someone else to tow my vehicle. That's not what I have a AAA account for! The woman who answers the phone named SHANNON was really rude to me a AAA member and she refused to send a tow truck out to Kneeland where my one and only car was broke down and i had to be left stranded with no car and a one year old and a shop that refused service to me because it was "too hard on their vehicles"... she told me that I had no idea how hard this road is on their trucks which I actually do think I know something about how hard this road is on vehicles since mine is broken down on it right now and I live on this road. Very rude service which was surprising because in the past I had better experiences with this company. She did not seem to care that we were broken down on the road with a toddler and a pregnant mother with no way out to get back to town and seemed more concerned about their vehicles so if you live on a dirt road like many of us do out here in humboldt just know that you may be treated the same way by this company and you might be better off calling another company who cares more about the safety and health of their customers. read more

My friend and I had called for a tow. We get disconnected with the first person we speak with. Call back. Giving information and get disconnected with the second person. Call back. Almost done with all of the information and we get hung up on again. Call back AGAIN. A mouth breathing lady answers the phone and keeps aggressively interrupting so I thought maybe she couldn't hear us. She could. She was just extremely rude. Rather than being professional, apologizing for my time being wasted when I called 4 times trying to get a tow, and arranging the tow, she wanted to interrupt me more and then yell at me. My husbands truck broke down 1/2 mile from their office. We called AAA who said it would be a 2 hr wait for Pacific towing. We live in same town and this seemed an inconveniently long amount of time for such a request. I drove by their office in my car and noticed several trucks parked in lot and what appeared to be a driver outside in Parking lot. Frustrated I called AAA and asked why it would take this long and told them what I observed at Pacific Towing when I drove by. They said they would try to get another tow company to come out and would call me back. About 1/2 hr later I received a call from whom I hoped would be AAA with an update on my service request but instead it was this rude woman named Shannon who immediately became confrontational with me saying that "I got her into hot water" because of what I said to AAA and that they are busy and the truck I observed is broken down. The tone in her voice was extremely condescending and angry and I felt like I was being told that I was wrong to complain to AAA about what I observed at their business. I couldn't believe as a premier AAA customer I was now having to deal with horrible wait time plus horrible and rude customer service from a local tow company. I told shannon that as a AAA customer I have every right to complain to them about the wait time and what I'm observing at their business and regardless of what is what, she has absolutely no right to call me with her attitude and complain to me as a customer because I complained to AAA. She told me they would not be honoring the request and hung up on me. I called AAA back and filed a complaint on their business and had to go about getting a tow on my own account. Excellent service! The guys (and gals) at Pacific Towing are always wonderful to work with. Very professional crew and extremely knowledgeable. My husband got his truck stuck at the beach once and we waited for another company (who our insurance dispatched), after waiting hours and watching the tide approach, we called Pacific Towing directly. The tow truck drivers and operators who work here are very courteous and friendly. No one likes having to call a tow truck so their pleasant attitudes were very welcome. I've had a car towed on a couple occasions within the last month. On the first, the guys who came out were great but somehow my ring of keys was lost and we were never able to find them. On the second tow, the guy went above and beyond by rolling my dead car down a long, narrow driveway into my parking lot. This would be a 5-star if my keys hadn't disappeared. It may not have been directly Pacific Towing's fault, since the keys could have been lost at the body shop, but losing them still sucked for me! read more

What a terrible morning it was yesterday in Eureka. A Sunday... a 270 mile drive ahead of me to San Francisco... a party to go to in SF at 5PM... and my car wouldn't start. An amazing man named Jim came out, checked everything out, couldn't find the cause and proceeded to get on the phone & try to find a repair shop open on a Sunday. Shakedown artists. My daughter used them to tow her 5th wheel, and the driver added extra time from the shop to her location. Luckily she caught it, but had to argue with the driver about the travel time. They stood me up twice to tow my cargo container, then when the owner and a driver finally showed up they demanded more money. Then the owner got angry when I said I couldn't pay more. The deal was $200 for one hour. Dwight seemed like a good guy after no one showed up the first time, so came with the driver the second time. But they were an hour and a half late. We have AAA road service - and they've dispatched Pacific Towing for various car problems we have had over the years. They've always arrived within the allotted time - and have been knowledgeable. Either they've fixed the problem on the spot - or have towed it to our repair shop without incident. A lot of the credit probably goes to AAA... but still ... we've never had any complaints about Pacific Towing. read more
