We ran over a nail coming out of our hotel that pretty much destroyed the tire. This was the closest tire shop and we limped in with just enough air in the tire to get us into the parking lot. I was bracing for a huge bill, a huge delay, or both - small town, limited options, we all know the story. But after we dropped the car off and walked to breakfast, their tech called to inform us that while the flat couldn't be fixed, they had a lightly used tire in our size, and they could install it for a very fair price. Our valve stem had a hole and was leaking air, so we stopped by Point S. We discovered our car had a special 19mm 7-hex wheel lock, but Michael went above and beyond to help. He explained our options, patiently got the locking bolt off after a lot of trial and error, and replaced the valve stem. Thanks to Michael, we saved hundreds of dollars and avoided major delays on our road trip to Seattle. He even charged us the minimum for the repair. Yesterday we ended up in a really bad situation. We were driving from Mount Shasta back to San Jose when, just outside of town, we got a flat tire on our Tesla Model 3. The car wasn't drivable, so we had it towed to Point S Mt. Shasta. Without even inspecting the car, the technician immediately told us we had to replace all four tires--even though they had all been replaced back in March. At first, he kept talking about the drivetrain. Then, after an official Tesla representative confirmed that replacing just two tires would be acceptable, they switched their explanation and said it was simply their company's policy. It was Friday, and they were closing for the weekend. They knew we had no other options. Their quote to replace all four tires was $1,200. When my husband asked if they could at least repair the tire or even just let him use or borrow the necessary tools, they literally went to lunch. They refused to help, even though they could clearly see we had a child with us. They even told us we had to leave their parking lot if we wanted to repair the tire ourselves. I honestly have no words. I was so frustrated. After that, my husband called three more tire shops in town, and every one of them told us to wait until Monday. In the end, he went to O'Reilly Auto Parts, bought everything he needed for about $100, repaired the tire himself, and we made it safely back to San Jose. The employee at the parts store even told us that we were probably treated that way because we weren't locals. Unfortunately, after this experience, Mount Shasta will always leave us with a very negative impression. read more

My Horrific Experience at Point S in Mount Shasta I rarely leave negative reviews - especially for local businesses which I love supporting, but my experience at Point S in Mount Shasta was so deeply disappointing, I feel a responsibility to share it. After being a loyal customer for years, I scheduled a diagnostic appointment back in July 2025 for my 2003 Nissan Pathfinder--an appointment I waited an entire month for. I clearly outlined issues including a suspected fuel injection problem, oil leak, belt noise, inaccurate fuel gauge, and difficulty climbing hills. On the day of the appointment, I arrived at 8:00 AM and was handed the wrong service form by the owner Jennifer. After I corrected the mistake, I was told I'd receive an update by noon. No one called. I tried repeatedly to reach them by phone and was ignored. At 4:00 PM, I finally reached someone who told me my car hadn't been looked at and would need to stay overnight--something I explicitly stated I couldn't do due to work obligations and an urgent trip to the animal hospital in Redding for my dog. So I paid for a taxi to the shop, only to find that nothing had been done. The owner, Jennifer was extremely rude and impatient to me. The oil leak hadn't even been addressed, and I was told the shop didn't have the equipment for a fuel injection diagnostic--which begs the question: why was I given this appointment in the first place? Why wasn't I told this upfront? A month later, I paid for a fuel pump replacement based on their mechanic's recommendation, supposedly resolving all the initial issues. But within a week, all the same problems returned. I contacted them again, and once more, promises were made and broken. I was told I'd get a callback with an appointment before September 18, again by Jennifer the owner -- but I never did hear back from her. I even took time off work and stopped by in person, only to find no one available and no answers. She was gone and never called me back. This level of disorganization, miscommunication, disrespect and total lack of accountability is inexcusable. I lost time, money, and peace of mind--and still, my car isn't fixed. I trusted Point S with my time, vehicle, and hard-earned money, and was met with a pattern of negligence and disrespect. No one deserves this kind of treatment. I strongly urge others in the Mount Shasta area to think twice before bringing their vehicle here. I'm now seriously considering my next steps to resolve this situation. went in the shop for a screw in my tire and a tire rotation. I left the shop with at least one broken wheel stud and several more that were cross threaded.I was told it was ok to drive with the one broken wheel stud only to later talk to corporate and find out that was not there policy and also to read online how that is unsafe at best. on my way out of town I noticed a rattling noise which became a clunk. I inspected the wheels and found 3 out of the five wheel studs were snapped off on my front driver side wheel. I had to have my truck towed to a Les Schwab where i had my truck inspected and found the other wheel studs were cross threaded and all lugs were over torqued. called point s and they not only denied this was a result of there were but, lied about several things. after calling corporate and having them contact Les Schwab they had reimbursed me for the work Les Schwab had done. going into the shop to get reimbursed I was told by point s the Les Schwab was lying and they must have cross threaded the studs taking them off. that was after the shops lead mechanic had lied to me and said that you can't cross threaded wheel studs. yes, in the end I was reimbursed but, everything was handled wrong by this shop and we are all lucky my wheel didn't come off on the freeway and someone didn't get hurt or killed. I gave one star because you can't give zero stars. I do not recomend going to this shop. read more

Great Experience the other day .. Point S Tire saved the day for me and my family as my rented camper van experienced some brake failure in Klamath Falls . We "nursed " the van to Shasta City while looking for a tire / brake repair facility in town . Point S came up as a possibility and I called while enroute . The "Owner " ? or manager answered and told me the crew would be made aware of my arrival around 4 pm or so . Sure enough , they were .They ordered the parts , installed new rotors and pads and were complete in about an hours time and I was on my way ... I am very grateful to this team . We are on vacation in McCloud. We are at the RV park and my truck got a flat. I put the spare on and looked up tire stores on the internet and found a few but no one could help me today. I saw an appliance repair guy driving through the RV park and asked him where I could go. He recommended Point S. I called and talked to 2 nice ladies. I asked if they had time to fix a flat (it was 1:30pm), they said yes. So I drove there and got in. I was informed my tire wasn't repairable, they offered to look for a good used tire, I said ok. No luck, so I had to buy 1 new tire for now. They put my spare back up under the truck and I paid the bill $331 for 1 new truck tire (not 4 wheel drive) Everyone was nice and very helpful. First of all, you need to train your front counter people correctly. Giving your customers dirty looks and general rudeness? Shouldn't be part of your training policy, and I can't imagine that it is. I have been getting my car serviced here for six years and have pretty much always had good interactions with your staff. Not the overweight younger gal who was at the counter today. Unfriendly, flippant, and almost hostile doesn't - and shouldn't - cut it in the business world today. So, that's your first problem. Second is, $112 for a lube, oil filter job??? Even with synthetic oil, which I always get, it has never totalled more than $80. So what excuse does this nasty person at the counter give me? "Uh, you do realize we have tariffs in place now that affect the price of oil?" Really? That's your excuse for gouging the customer's wallet? Do you even know how tariffs work? Likely not. I told her, "Well, that will give me pause bringing my car to get serviced here in the future. I'll change my own oil." Nothing. No, "We apologize for the humongous increase in our fees" or anything like that. I used to give your company high marks. My advice: get rid of nasty, stupid people and hire only pleasant, people-oriented types who actually know what good customer service is. And, don't hide behind the pathetic excuse that Trump's reciprocal tariff policy somehow allows you to increase your fees by about 40%. This is highway robbery, in my eyes. My TRIP to Mt. Shasta exiting off I-5 ramp suddenly found my SUV ENGINE IDLE UP HIGH. Could not drop the RPM. Fortunately made a left at mainstreet n light, my hotel Cold Creek Inn pulled in and had 3 NIGHTS reserved. FORD ESCAPE idle would not reboot...TURNED IT OFF, later called around, texted my mechanic shop in San Jose, CALIF...he said ONE OF THREE PROBLEMS. DO NOT Drive IT. Next day tried to drive and it stayed in lower RPM and managed to get to POINT S right down the street from the iNN. JEREMY at the POINT S desk spoke to and was so nice, calmed me down and had Brandon one of the best mechanics there take a look. HE TAPPED On something which under the hood dropped the RPM. SAID easy fix. scheduled it and they ordered the PART. Left my car there overnight and next morning I came in and it took the mechanic literally 10 minutes to change out the I A C... took it for a roadway drive to see if it all balanced back. We took our car into this place to get the brakes fixed, but they never got around to fixing the brakes. Instead they smashed up our car. After my husband gave them the keys they backed our car out and right into a pickup truck, crunching the rear end. Evidently it was just too much trouble to look in the rearview mirror before backing up our vehicle, and it wasn't their car anyway right? We are subjected to weeks of inconvenience to get it repaired, because of their stupidity. If you love your car think twice about what you might be dealing with, before you bring your car here. My daughter and I got a flat on 97. We drove 50 miles to Point S on a dinky space saver spare. We couldn't drive over 50MPH. You can imagine the joy of everyone behind us. My tire light came on after going over a ledge on a turnout. I called Point S, and they said to come down and we would start with air pressure. One tire was slightly low, and magically the tire light disappeared after adding a little air. Both men I worked dealt with were friendly and very helpful. Dishonest/incompetent employees. I brought 4 new rims out of the box and 4 new tires to be mounted and balanced. When I picked them up the employees said there was pre existing damage in form of scratches on all of the rims and a chunk missing from the outside bead, (on new rims which they and I both looked at when I dropped them off). I was then yelled at by the manager for asking questions about the damage. Sadly at this time, I cannot recommend Point S Tire. I can understand if they accidentally damaged my wheels, but to try and cover it up and lie to the customer is super bad form, especially for a Mt. Shasta business. read more

And if you purchased the tires at one of there locations(keep the receipt) then it's usually a free service, for the most part. Amazing staff at every location. Just a heads up for anyone getting an alignment. They charge $52.50 to pull your car up on the rack for 5 minutes just to be told they can't do the alignment because they recommend a tie rod be replaced before the alignment. They couldn't even give me a quote how much the tie rod cost to replace until the next day? Literally minutes after they take it off the rack. I called les swab and they said inspections are free and if they can't do the alignment they dont charge a dime. I do not recommend this place. I was trying to go local, but got scammed. Paid 50 Buck for literally nothing. Was not even warned before. Would be nice if they actually told you if they can't align your car that they will charge you 50 bucks.
