My 08 Chevy Uplander mini van had needed a transmission for a year now. The quotes I was getting far exceed the value of the van so it sat until I found someone reasonable or the car fell apart in my driveway. By happen chance, I saw an add for them on Facebook then referenced Yelp to read some reviews. I shot them an email and Joe got back to me the following day. After very short chats, it was clear my transmission was shot. Something I already knew. It had been dying for a while and was just running first and second gear for a bit. They quoted me an all inclusive price of an installed rebuild and the quote was the reasonable one I was looking for. I signed off on the work that day and they sent a tow truck to my house to get my van. The tow was free and it was running from my house in SW Denver to 115th in Northglenn. That would be a 200 dollar tow if I had to pay for it. It only took them four days to complete the work. When I arrived to get the van, Joe told me to watch for leaks and if there is anything I don't like, bring it back. He said he would gladly tow it if needed. It came with a three year 100k warranty on parts AND labor. That's a huge deal. I firmly believe that if I have a problem, Joe and Ram's Transmission will stand behind their product and their work. If I could leave a zero star rating I 100% would. Worst automotive place! They are dishonest, rude and VERY unprofessional! We have taken a truck in for transmission repair not only did they lie about the work and warranty they stole upgraded parts that were on the vehicle! Did a poor job on the "repairs" and pretty much doubled the price. If your looking to be ripped off, taken advantage of, treated poorly and then still have to take it elsewhere where for an actual repair this is the place for you but I would suggest just save the hassle and money! read more

Went to Ram's Transmission with a bad Ford Explorer Transmission. They diagnosed/confirmed the suspected issue, transmission not shifting correctly, slipping during acceleration, and trouble engaging while starting. They were able to replace the transmission in a couple days for the best price in town. So far no issues, our Ford SUV is now running great. read more

I came to Ram with an uncomfortable feeling something was wrong with the transmission in my 2018 Ford F150. Joe was able to get me in the next afternoon and called later that day to tell me the bad news-- I needed a new transmission due to design flaws in that transmission. I double-checked and found that sadly, this was common for this vehicle. Joe explained that this was such a common problem, he kept a spare replacement on hand. As a result, I went from "I think something's wrong" to back on the road in 28 hours. He gave me a 3-year warranty and wants me to bring it back in 60 days to make sure it's in proper condition. I took my car to service King. Theyin turn call took it to peak auto who, in the process of repairing my car destroyed my transmission. I then had it towed to Ram's Tranmission, and they have worked with me and my insurance to get this claim through we have been on the phone every day. They are pleasant, professional, and an excellent place to go, once the approval from the insurance came through, they started working on my car immediately. I would recommend ram transmission 300% to anybody that is having transmission problems. Service King said they did a 4 Wheel Drive alignment on my car, which they did not. There are few mechanics you can really trust, especially when it comes to an older Ram. After my transmission started slipping, I took it to a local mechanic in Northglenn who charged me $114 to tell me my transmission if f*cked and I need a new one. And he could get me a rebuilt one for $3600, and as old as it was it was just better to trash it and buy a new truck. WTF? Do you know how much a used Dodge Ram is? So basically they didn't want to do the job and if they did it, it would be shotty at best since they don't really do transmissions. After taking it to Ram's Tranmission, I was told they would rebuild MY transmission and warranty it for 2 years. The final bill was $2700, and that included new U-joints. It turns out that this is the same company that was previously located on Irma drive, which was one of my friend's dad's business. I feel 100% confident in trusting this mechanic/shop as I know my friend's family would take care of me and not rip me off. They even gave me an internet coupon that saved me 15%. More auto drama but this business was OK. They did a free diagnostic test on our car transmission(about 2 hours) and told us he had good news and bad news for us. He was convinced that we didn't have a transmission problem, but the problem was in our electrical system...work he doesn't do.... After the jerk around we got at Aamco this was a relief. I wish I could give them 2 and half stars but the star rating system didn't allow it. They have been good for just servicing auto transmissions, changing fluid, etc for a reasonable price typically $70 or less. I had them rebuild my clutch on my Doge Ram 2500 and they said on the phone best case $850 and worst case $1100. They did do free towing which is great but to give me a solid estimate they had to charge me $685 to rip it apart. Then they said it needed a heavy duty clutch which I thought was in the original estimate and since it is torn down and you have already lost $685 you really don't have a choice. The new clutch assembly was $795 and they said it was a Pro Gold for a 4500 transmission, which seemed pretty expensive. They resurfaced the old flywheel and replaced the throwout bearing and pilot bearing but I believe the clutch kit comes with a pilot bearing so that is no big deal. carolinaclutch.com has the pro gold heavy duty clutch kit for $333.79 on sale with the regular price being $467. I imagine they pay the discount price and mark it up about 130%. I believe this is to make up for the "flat labor rate" of $685. This is my pet peave with auto shops that charge you a ridiculous markup for parts thinking you're too stupid to just look it up on the internet to see if they are ripping you off. On the good side the clutch feels great. The bad side is the price and the fact that my car smells like gear oil and transmission fluid was dumped in the a/c intake. I'm sure it wasn't but it is just an artifact of the shop or something. The main reason I didn't do it myself is that I didn't want to rip it apart in my driveway and I hate the smell of gear oil...and transmission fluid, and of course I am lazy... :) My workout partner's brother in law would have done it for 850 but it is a super hassle towing it over to Aurora which is about 25 miles from my house. I guess I just paid 600 for towing... The receipt is attached as a picture so you can review and make your own judgment but I would make sure and get upfront pricing. Use this as a baseline price to shop around should you decide to get this done. This is definitely a worst case. Funny thing is the worst case price estimate he gave me originally for 1100 included replacing the slave cylinder which wasn't needed. Update, since getting the original work done on 9/11 it went back two times for severe leaks from the gasket going to the shifter. Now I'm taking it back tomorrow on 10/24 since its still leaking. At this point I'm going to probably file a payment dispute with the credit car company. I called him today and told him I was taking it in and he said "I didn't touch the transmission when I replaced the clutch." In addition, I am 99% sure they broke the air vent cover on the dashboard but they won't admit to it. Thanks, Greg read more

We had taken our older truck to a "service" center for regular maintenance and we were told we had a transmission leak that they couldn't fix. We took our truck to Ram's Transmission and we were treated very well and instead of it being what we were told a transmission "leak" all it needed to be repaired was a new drain plug!! My sister in law got her car back from a having a new clutch put in and her splash shield from underneath the car was missing. We told them and they swore they didn't take it off and keep it. The transmission was rebuilt in my sons 1994 Ford Ranger by Ram Transmission in 2011 it made it almost exactly 30,000 miles and completely blew to pieces! They charged $2005.23 to rebuild it and we didn't even get 3 years out of it. We took truck over to another shop (since warranty with Ram is 2 yrs) they completely rebuilt trans. for $1100.00 and said that torque converter had never been replaced and many of the parts that should have been replaced with previous rebuild were never replaced. I wish that I could give negative stars. When they did the clutch on my truck the final cost was $300 over the quote that I was given. Then I got it home and it leaked, bad. When I took it back the guy said, "It doesn't leak that bad." It didn't leak at all before! They got it to leak less but never really fixed it. Now a year and a half later I am getting the transmission rebuilt, by someone else, and they said that the flywheel was never turned. I will never go back. read more

Took my 1987 mustang to have the tranny rebuilt after they did diagnostic check Tony the manager said they could fix it,he said it needs a complete rebuild and it would cost 1458.00 I paid cash.After about a week or more he said,it was done.So I picked it up it seemed ok on the way home.After I put about 50 miles on it it wouldn't back up called Tony he said bring it back after another week or so he said,it was ready again.So I picked it up after a short time it started slipping called Tony again took it back.After another week or so he called and said,it was ready and he was tired of seeing this mustang and he put a new tranny in the car.I picked it up it ran ok for about 2-3 hundred miles then it started slipping again.Called Tony he said bring it back after another week it was ready again.When I went to pick it up he said that my new battery was dead and he jumped it to get it going.I drove it home I don't think he even worked on it because it still had the same problem.The only thing they did was run my battery down.I called Tony and said that it still had the same problem he said it had a bad motor mount, I said you didn't see that before he said no but on diagnostic check he checked it was ok so I have that check list.He said it seemed fine when he tested it.I said it wasn't fine!!! And I had brought this car to him 5 times he all the sudden had amnesia and said he didn't remember that. I told him I would invoke the lemon law and would see him in court,he said good luck with that.After I called the BBB I found out his business had fantastic rating of a D- so if you take your car to this ripoff good luck with that how about that Tony!!!!!!!! read more
