I love subapros. Whenever I need help with my subaru they are always quick to help and more than happy to. I have had my engine replaced by them, cv axels and brakes over the years of having my subaru and never face any issues. They treat me fairly and don't talk down to me just cause i'm a girl like other shops have. Every dollar i've spent with them i'm happy to because they are on top of it. Today my check engine light came on after a battery replacement and no code reader could read it. They were able to accommodate me last second and fixed it incredibly fast. SubaPros is hands down the only place I'll take my Subaru! This is an honest and very knowledgeable shop with friendly service. I've been taking my 2013 Impreza here since early 2021, and have been very pleased at the timeliness in completing work, pricing scale, and not yanking customers' chains. I also do a unique 5-wheel rotation with a full size spare in case of a flat and having AWD, where I have an "ace in the hole" and won't need 4 new tires. The SubaPros team has done the unique rotation perfectly every time with no tire light/sensor issues that I experienced at other shops as I would need to return to have the reprogramming done correctly. They hemmed and hawed and said "oh we need to update that rate in the computer") Spent $1,700 and now the car doesn't run at all and we'll have to take it to another mechanic to clean up the mess made by SubaPros. I brought my car in yesterday because it was making a noise. The mechanics were rude to me and I was told the only option was $2200 for a used transmission. I called back and said I was getting a second opinion. Of course they weren't happy when I told them that. They charged me $50 for driving the car around the block. I took my car to second shop (also Subaru specialist) and turns out it was a loose bolt. He put the bolt back and my car is good as new. He charged $20. Wow!!!! I will NEVER give any business to this company. Totally absurd!!! The car was sent to a specialist 2 years and we intentionally put a Legacy engine into the car. The rebuilds have been very successful for the model and year of the vehicle I own. I was told by Subapro owner I need a new transmission because the other shop put the wrong engine in and likely that's why I need a new transmission. My car has 33,000 miles on it. It didn't need a new transmission. It needed an honest skilled professional which I had to take my business elsewhere to find. Either the mechanics at Subapro got shady or they truly aren't experts. I bought a car from a used car dealer whose mechanic failed to properly do the advertised work and had to take the car back twice. When the car overheated a third time, I refused to go back to their mechanic and instead they had me go to Subapros for a second opinion. I'm so GLAD they did! Not only did they solve the problem but double checked all the other work the other mechanic said they did. Turns out the previous place did a half assed job with substandard parts and poor execution. Rocky and the gang did such an amazing job with my older outback, I LOVE my Subaru and I won't go anywhere with it ever again! If it's not done right the first time, it's a bad value so don't waste your hard earned money by going anywhere else, do it right and TAKE YOUR SUBIE TO SUBAPROS, you will get what you pay for with friendly service, knowledgeable staff and no bullsh*t games about what your car needs!! They diagnosed my car and did a front end alignment after I slid into a curb fairly gently. First they tried to upsell wheel bearings. This is a job I've done before so I declined. Tried scare tactics that they will only last a few weeks longer. Sure. Then a code wouldn't clear after the alignment on a steering angle sensor. $700 quote. Only available from Subaru they say. Well obviously they haven't heard of a google search. Their $500 dealer only part was $400 from the dealer and available as an aftermarket Dorcas little as $250. This kicker is the c I de cleared itself after a day. Great job on the alignment, knowledge beyond what code scanner can tell then, not so much. Subacode readers would be a more accurate name. read more

These guys are the best I've ever seen !!! They do top notch work , and great customer service ! This is the only Subaru shop in Colorado That touches my WRX - Rocky rebuilt the motor from top to bottom and replaced wiring harness and it performs better than new! They also now do Paintless Dent Removal at the new location - so anytime I get dings or dents or hail - they will be fixing my car in their new body shop ! Also just got my windshield replaced and windows tinted three hours total. And looks awesome !!! read more

Horrible! I booked it a week in advance. They told me it would have been done by the end of the day. I dropped it off at 10:30am. I called at 2:30pm to get an update and they said it would be done at the end of the day--5pm. I got a call at 4:30 asking if they could keep it for the night of course I said no, because it was not in the plans. I showed up at 4:40 and they said nothing was done. Horrible communication. Horrible service. I wanted to support this small business but they were not nice and unapologetic. I spoke to a mechanic and he explained this was not the first time- by any means. Just let your clients know when it comes up! Unfortunately this small business should probably go under. Pay a bit more and go to a reliable place. read more

After I got an estimate, I called to schedule my repair - they ordered parts for me in good faith, which came in the very next day, and they fit me in the day after that for my repairs, which were done in a couple of hours. This is the place to take your Subaru, for everything. They're specialists, so they know all the important stuff that other auto chains don't consider....ie: what coolant doesn't eat away at the head gaskets at high temps...plus they never stock the junk parts that you end up paying the same amount for at corporate auto chains. I've had multiple great experiences bringing my car into them, and at this point, I won't take it anywhere else....not even when a good oil change coupon comes in the mail (lol)....it's just not worth it! And to boot, everyone at the shop is actually COOL....as in: down-to-earth, compassionate and sincere. I've taken cars into other places where the clerk is either arrogant, clueless, dripping with BS, or all of the above. This won't happen at SubaPros. Rocky has never tried talking me into doing a bunch of nickel-and-dime-me repairs when the root of the problem lies elsewhere. Additionally, he's confident enough in his own business to let me know when something just isn't worth fixing. I've been going to this place since I relocated to Colorado a year and a half ago. I mostly talk with Peter, but everyone has been very helpful here. They seem to be honest without trying to upsell me on anything extra, unlike the Subaru Dealer I visited in Englewood. Good advice. The only time I didn't have perfect service was when my 2015 Forester had some problem with the mainframe computer in the car. At that point, I had to go to the dealer for their $30,000 computer to diagnose the problem. Other than that, I keep coming back here even though it's 30 minutes out of my way. I'm pretty confused by these guys. They have killer yelp reviews, so I brought my 02 WRX there for a full inspection after hearing a couple weird squeaking noises. I was told that I needed to spend $8K and rebuild the whole engine and turbo and that it wasn't driveable. Since the car was worth $8K in excellent condition I had a friend dump the oil and pull the pan, intercooler, etc. and check everything with a stethoscope. He said everything looked fine but the A/C compressor wheel bearing was getting old. He replaced the fly wheel and it's been running great for 3 months. I still can't figure out why a shop with such a professional track record would quote me $8K for a problem that doesn't exist. Maybe we'll be able to get to the bottom of it and reconcile, in which case I'll update this review. read more

I've been buying and having my Subarus repaired here for 7 years. They are incredibly honest, get the job done in a timely fashion, and charge a very good price. They also know Subarus better than any repair shop I've encountered. If there is a problem with your Subbie that is going to leave you stranded down the road and they can't fix it without some work, they won't sugar-coat it and put a band aid on your car, so you are in the shop again in a short time. The bad reviews I've read seem to be from people that think they are Subaru mechanics or are disappointed by a costly diagnosis that is what the car would need to be properly repaired. Every time I take my Outback into the shop for an oil change/check-up or repair, they give me a full list of options that I may or may not have done to the car and the consequences of lack thereof down the road. 99% of the time; however, the car is running like a top and needs nothing done to it. Many times they have made small improvements to the car are free of charge! Things that a dealership or other repair shops would have slapped $100+ on the bill for. I feel I had to write a review, because I've never had the experiences that the one-star(poor) reviewers are giving and it makes me suspicious. I have had poor experiences at other shops and ESPECIALLY dealerships, but never at Subapros. Subapros is an honest, high quality Subaru repair shop. I will be driving used Subarus because of this shop while I live in Colorado. 5 stars. read more

I ended up needing a new transmission ($3500) Meanwhile all my friends said it was too much or be prepared for the car to pretty much fall apart after you replace the trans. Long review, but it covers just how bad this place is: I posted pictures. Mine is the blue car. Wish I could give zero stars! HORRIBLE service and a TERRIBLE repair job. It took months to "fix" my WRX, that only had minimal body damage. First, I received a call saying "my chariot awaits, however we painted it the wrong color, but you can't really tell unless you're outside in the sun"! Uh... I drive my car outside in the sun! After I said I wanted it painted the same color as the rest of the car, they got the correct color, but didn't repaint inside the door, over the wheels, and when I went to pick up my car, after they said they fixed the paint, they had forgotten to have the windshield replaced and all the body work they did, was out of alignment. I left my car in hopes it would be properly fixed, the next time I went to pick it up. However, they didn't notice I had a bent strut, I told them it was still out of alignment, after test driving it, but they insisted it was correct. I then took it to another shop and the mechanic noticed right away that there was a bent strut. I had to pay to have it repaired and re-aligned. Subapros also said they didn't notice the scratches THEY put on the roof of my car, when popping out the back glass to replace the quarter panel. I refused to take my vehicle, this time until they properly fixed all the issues. The owner first denied the fact that they put the four, one inch long scratches on my roof, but the body guy, Scott, owned up to it. The owner also tried to blame the crappy job on Scott, being ill. Well, when I went to pick up my vehicle, I noticed that they painted over the powder-coated trim of my aftermarket moon roof, WHICH THEY ALSO BROKE TRYING TO PRY IT OUT, and the rear quarter panel still did not line up correctly, and the owner told me, that's as good as it's going to get, because they did extra work painting my roof, and I got betterment out of it, because they had to remove the very minimal hail dents to paint the roof. It wouldn't have had to be painted, if THEY didn't scratch it all the way down to the metal. On top of all of this, when I called to speak with the owner, he was very very rude and hung up on me. I then hired an attorney to deal with this situation, and the owner hung up on him, too! To top it off, EVERY PART THEY PAINTED, IS PEELING AND RUSTING! It started peeling after only ONE MONTH! This place is absolutely atrocious to work with. I'm still fighting to get this rectified, but I have to sue them for the cost of the repairs so I can take my vehicle elsewhere to be properly fixed. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS SHOP. IF YOU DO, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!! read more

I have been here twice with our subaru outback. The first time we brought it in after buying the car used to get a few things done. On this visit, we had them fix the sealing on the driver's side door to make it more soundproof on the highway. After we paid nearly $400 to get that fixed, we still were having noises. Only then did they notice that the door on the driver's side did not close flush with the body and that it was as good as it was going to get unless I wanted to spend thousands to re-do the entire door. If they had noticed that at first, we would not have tried to fix it. Second visit, oil change. Simple enough. I had a 1:30 appointment. Around 2:45 I decided to go see what was taking so long. I don't know much about cars, but I do know that an oil change is not rocket science. They had FORGOTTEN ABOUT ME! It had been done in probably 15 minutes. I have things to do with my day that don't involve sitting in a very sketchy and outdated waiting room. Not only that, but it was over $45 for an oil change which I think is on the pricey side. I am NEVER going back there and advise you to not waste your time and money. read more

My wife and I recently moved to the Arvada neighborhood from Lakewood. Last week I was driving to work and noticed a sign for "Subaru Repair" on Ward Road. I took note of this as I've always driven a Subaru, and I also had a specialty repair project that I needed performed. I had already been going back and forth with via email with AutoNation for the past week. In addition to not answering my question about time frame and scheduling, the AutoNation agent did inform me the repair would cost $95. On my way to work today I decided to stop into SubaPros and ask them about the repair in question. Much to my relief, they informed me that all I needed was a clip and Lou quickly replaced the part I needed within 5 minutes. I went inside to pay the bill, and they said it was on the house. I was blown away! Their friendliness, eagerness to help, and the ability to help me on the spot was truly appreciated. It was a very simple end to a project that I was starting to dread. After coming here for the past year I've gathered that they need service writers who can properly communicate with the car owner. I've had my car here a few times, every time I've always had to call for an update on the car. In fact my last experience they had my car down under the wrong motor size after already replacing a radiator and a bunch of suspension work. A few months after replacing my radiator I began to get a coolant leak, so I take it In to get an idea of what was wrong with my car being that they where the last ones to work on it. When the mechanic (rocky) came out to give the car a quick glance since it was smoking from the hood. He glances at it, goes on to tell me how I the cars already had work done to it and that the heads where leaking. He didn't bother taking me back inside to give me any further instruction as to how to go about the problem. Horrible fuckin experience. Meanless to say I have to find another shop just to diagnose my car. read more

If I could give zero stars then I would. Avoid this place at all costs, it will just end up costing you more money in the long run. Got in an accident in October 2014 and had heard good things about this place so decided to take my car in there. Took them two weeks longer than it was supposed to. Failed to properly align the hood, so now doesn't fit correctly on my car. Then there was a noise being made that they couldn't figure out, but would later find out (from another mechanic) it was simply from the transmission mount which was crushed from the accident. A flaw that any decent mechanic could have figured out. Then upon taking my car through a car wash this past week the paint got chipped off because they only put on one layer of paint when repairing my car! This place should be called Subacheap or Subacons. No pros work in this shop and my experience should reiterate that fact. My girlfriend has also had issues with them in the past. Really wish her oblivious co-worker never recommended this place; we would both be happier and less in debt. I will be sure to tell my friends and family to go elsewhere. Don't mistake their upfront kindness with smarts or honesty, these people are cheap and horrible at their trade. You have been warned! Oh and by the way, this is the first Yelp review I have ever done, so that should tell you something for how bad this place is. They did reach out to explain part of the miscommunication. It may have just been a point of time where the business had an off time. I did understand what the owner wa saying, but it didn't fundamentally change my views of the services provided. The outreach felt more like an attempt to get me to change the review, not to resolve or repair the relationship. I upped my review one star for reaching out, but stand by my original thoughts. It was not about the parts, as much as it was the manner in which we communicated. I also did not note that after having a hitch installed, the hydraulics for my hatch were bent. It was a new defect I noticed the day after the install, and one I can't think of how it would have happened. I had to pay another garage $200 to replace. It just was a bad one off that made me not trust the business for ME personally. That's the point of Yelp reviews. Not to punish, but to tell others your experiences. I don't have any rancor, and waited to post this review until I felt it wouldn't be posted with anything other than fact based reviews. They helped us out when we limped into town with an over-heating '03 Forester. We had known the headgaskets had a leak, but apparently that leak really opened up during our long drive. They said it was normally a 3-day job to handle headgaskets, but because we were in the middle of a trip, Rocky committed his whole next day to our car and got it done in one. The car has been running great for 4,000+ miles since, oil leak is gone and overheating is gone. Thank you guys. read more

I hate leaving these but other people need to know. I took my wife's car here for an oil change once because its closer than my usual guy. Seemed fine and normal. Recently there was a coolant leak. I took it here again because the roads were awful and I didn't want to go to usual guy. They must have thought I was naive about cars because they told me I needed $3500 worth of work. I knew this was not true. Puzzled, I picked up the car and took it to normal guy who said I was being fleeced, all it needed was a radiator replacement ($500). They proceeded to charge $50 to examine the car which I was not told of when bringing it in. Over the phone they said it was posted in the office (it's not as they later admitted). They told me it needed head gaskets as "preventative maintenance" which is a bold faced lie. When I disagreed they said "it'll need it anyways in at 150K", interesting that the car is only at 100K now and it definitely did not need head gasket. In fact my regular Subaru guy said he's never ever done head gasket on that year of outback because they never need them- and he has a busy shop. I caught them completely manufacturing services we didn't need because they thought I didn't know anything about cars. DISHONEST!!!! read more

Took the forester in because the power seat module had lost some functionality. They were able to rebuild it in an hour rather than simply buying a new one, which would have cost me 3x. Very honest and true experts on Subaru. Previously they solved an A/C issue that a Subaru dealership couldn't even figure out. My brother told me that he loves these guys so I brought my subaru there after the car dealership tried to get me to pay an arm and a leg for new head gaskets. Subapros quoted me less, but also took me under the car to show me what else it needed, how some shocks where gone, etc. They gave me a discount for my brother's referral, helped me pay for the rental car when the repairs took longer than they originally said, and called the next day after I took the car home to make sure it was running well. We were stranded in evergreen with a messed up clutch, etc. This crew graciously took our car in on the day after Thanksgiving and got it back to us the same day - on pretty major repairs. And on top of that, they knew we were trying to get back to Texas on a deadline (I had to make a flight) and they were able to stay just a few minutes after closing so that we could pick up our car and be able to leave early the next morning. Don has been extremely helpful since the first time we called him to ask some basic questions about a few Subaru's we were interested in purchasing. He gave us tons of information and helpful tips of things to look for on our test drives. When we found "the one" he went out of his way to make time to do a spur of the moment, pre-purchase, bumper-to-bumper inspection on it. He gave us a written quote for everything he saw that needed work and when we took it in to have that work done the total was exactly what he quoted us. So far so good! I have never reviewed a business on Yelp before, but I feel like with all the great reviews here another poor review is warranted. Took my 2009 Outback here initially when I first discovered it was nearly overheating during the winter months last year. My husband specifically asked if it was the head gasket that needed to be replaced as we read this was a common problem. They said it was leaking coolant, flushed my coolant for $45 and sent us on our way. Several weeks later the car started to overheat again and we brought it in again, was told it was the head gasket which was corroded internally and externally and that we should have come in sooner. They ended up replacing my head gasket, doing my 100,000 mile checkup and replacing my clutch for for around $3000 which they told us was big savings (and it may have been). They acknowledged no wrong doing, but did give us the $45 spent previously towards our bill. However, they neglected to flush or top off my clutch fluid and recently I was stranded on I-70 in the mountains when my clutch stopped working just before the Eisenhower Tunnel. I can't say for sure this was them, but I have not had my car worked on since, my clutch fluid is not leaking now, and has never required a fill up by me before. Furthermore, I am writing this review because of their "we don't need your business" attitude, and the repeated comments bashing you for taking your car to other mechanic shops. Being a car owner is a constant learning experience for most people and repair shops should try to teach how to care for a car rather than blaming customers for not bringing their car in sooner. I spoke to someone today over the phone about some additional work I needed on my car and was given a series of rude responses again. For me this is the last straw and I will not be bringing my car here again or recommending them. I believe there are good Subaru shops who also have a sense of customer service that deserve my money more. read more
