Called them and sounded good got me in for service on the AC made an Appt etc... after 6hrs finally get a call back and they said they just got around to the vehicle and it's the compressor going to cost me "X" and won't be done till sometime this week. Seriously took you 6hrs to evacuate the refer line, pull vacuum and then recharge to find out the compressor is bad. Took it to a Mercedes Shop the next day and they gave me a call within 2hrs confirming the Compressor which again 2hrs acceptable vs 6hrs WTF were you doing. Then on top of all this nonsense the Mercedes Shop stated the shop evacuated the line so there is no Freon. Called the other shop and the guy said oh well I'll give you back $6.00 when I was charged over 200.00 for the Freon. This Company is a scam artist and rip off BE AWARE go somewhere else not here. read more

Initially positive, my experience with Arvada German Garage turned negative after they failed to diagnose a severe oil leak that triggered my check engine light. Their poor communication and vague recommendations led me to another mechanic, who identified the issue. I don't trust them and wouldn't recommend their services. I've been taking my car to Arvada German Garage for the last six months since moving to Colorado. My first couple of visits for oil changes went smoothly, and I was impressed with the owner, who seemed very nice and informative. I was optimistic that I'd found a reliable shop. However, after my most recent experiences, I've completely changed my mind. After my second visit, I noticed a rattling noise coming from my engine. When I brought the car in for inspection, they informed me that it was the timing chain and gave me a quote for the repair. However, they didn't explain how serious this issue could be or that it had the potential to ruin my engine if left unchecked. They also mentioned I would need new rear brakes soon, but since I couldn't afford both at the time, I put off the repairs and went on my way. Last week, I returned for another routine oil change and finally had the rear brakes replaced. I dropped the car off on a Friday and picked it up just before closing. While the brakes were fine, I immediately noticed the check engine light was on, which was not the case when I dropped the car off. I turned around and went back to the shop, where the technician admitted he thought he had "cleared the code" earlier. He cleared it again, but after driving for 10 minutes, the light came back on. Unfortunately, the shop is closed on weekends, so I had to wait until Monday to return. When I brought it in, I explained the issue again, but they said they would have to keep my car all day to look at it, but I had work so was unable to leave it. I was told to come back Thursday. Already feeling frustrated, I dropped the car off first thing Thursday morning, hoping they would finally resolve the issue. By late afternoon, I hadn't heard anything, so I called them. The response I got was vague, they weren't sure what the problem was, but they suggested changing the oil filter or possibly replacing the sensors, which would cost $530. But even they admitted they weren't sure if that would fix the problem and that it could be an underlying issue. At this point, I was confused and annoyed, so I took my car back without agreeing to further repairs. The next day, I took my car to a different mechanic, paid $150 for a diagnostic, and within an hour, they told me I had a severe oil leak around the timing chain and gaskets. This was apparently the cause of the check engine light, and they were shocked that Arvada German Garage had not caught or mentioned this issue. It was a serious problem that I was completely unaware of. I'm thankful I took my car to another shop before more damage occurred, but I'm extremely disappointed with the service and lack of communication from Arvada German Garage What started as a positive experience has turned into one of frustration and mistrust. Mike and the folks and Arvada German Garage have been my go-to garage for my last two Mercedes for over 10 years. I am always confident that I am being given a fair deal (most times better than value than other service shops) and Jared and/or Mike explain the situation to me in detail and answer all my questions and my car is always fixed correctly and typically fast. It can be hard to get an appointment, but that is because they are busy. It's difficult to get into a Mercedes shop these days, especially after Covid. In several instances, Mike/Jared have saved me money by suggesting cheaper alternatives or even checking with Mercedes if something appears that it could be under warranty. read more

Seemed like he did so I removed prior review; however, 9 months later car is leaking again in exact same place. For $800 repair should last longer than 9 months. Unethical? Incompetent? Both? We brought our 2003 Mazda MPV van in for an oil leak. This is the kind of situation I have faced before, and a good garage will tell you the truth about whether it is worth trying to fix an old car or you should live with the leak and know that the car is near the end of its life. They told us the leak was fixable. $2800 later, they returned a car that was barely running and told us that they broke a part when they were doing the repair and the part was no longer available. We asked for a refund of labor costs, and they offered to work on it again for no charge. They returned it in worse shape than before. It is clear that the engine no longer sustains needed pressure. The car does not accelerate and threatens to stall at every stop. We asked again for a refund of labor costs, but they declined. I've worked mostly with Jared who has been quite responsive and a true professional at the desk and phone. Today, I sold the car where it was parked and it was the first time I saw the owner, Mike, at the front desk. He did not greet or communicate with me directly and he asked the staff which car belonged to me (my wife), it was obvious he may not know the repeat customers like myself so I deducted one star for lack of acknowledgement. We had some air conditioning work done recently to our Mercedes. The technician told us that the dashboard would have to come apart for them to get to some of the components. We authorized the work. When the car was returned, the air conditioning was working but the dashboard had broken components and bulbs out. We were told that this was because the car was older. Truth= This is not because the car is older. This is because Arvada German Garage was negligent and broke the dashboard lights and fit. They tried to get my wife to pay for service to fix the dash. Do not take your care here. They are breaking things through negligence or incompetence and are preying upon women to try to get them to pay for the repair. Very unethical. read more

At first the experience was not too bad like other reviews I've seen on the place. But 3 days later without communication from the stores end is what causes my rating to go down. I took my car in on a Friday morning for a diagnostic on some stalling issue I've been having. Was told they would try to get the diagnostic done hopefully by the end of the day, okay fair they appeared busy and its an older car. But closing time came around that day and I did not hear from them at all. So after calling myself to see the status of my car I was told it hadn't quite been taken care of and they asked if it was okay to hold the car until Monday to finish up their diagnostics. After Monday around Noon, I finally received info about my car. In the info it stated that they did some tests and adjusted some things. There were some safety concerns about the vehicle that prevented a test drive to confirm repairs. I said "Okay I get it I work in automotive. I have the parts can I get an estimate on labor so we can verify that the repairs already done have fixed my initial problem." Then after calling 3-4 times after that conversation, still didn't get any follow up quote, reasoning why I haven't heard from them, or REALLY ANYTHING. I had to come into the store and pick up my car without anything further done to verify repairs. Only to find out that not all diagnostics were NOT done to my vehicle because there was no communication to me that they couldn't finish their diagnostics until that safety concern was addressed. On top of it all they said that it didn't seem to stall anymore but literally 5 blocks down the street, my previous problem was not only still there but seemed to have gotten worse as it stranded me in an intersection for about 5 minutes as I could not get it started again. After trying to resolve this issue and treated with no empathy from a customer point of view I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

However today my opinion changed. I gave them a call today and from past experience and working with Jared his lack of empathy spoke volumes in the call I made about a pre trip diagnostic. We had our tires changed there and three of the four tires were incredibly loose, I could screw the lug nuts off with my hands. I'm so lucky that we didn't lose a tire and have our car flip. I drove my two year old son in the car in that condition. Wanted to share here as so many are having their tires switched to winter tires right now, this could have been a nightmare for our family. ETA: The owner saw this review and reached out to us quickly. He was incredibly apologetic and was genuinely upset that this happened. It was a combination of an equipment failure and a mistake by a new employee, who was also very remorseful. They did a stop work meeting and discussed with the team. My 2008 Volvo C70 dome light was malfunctioning after I tried to install LED lamps. That did not go so well. The lamps flared out and only one lamp worked. I could not find a replacement assembly from Volvo but did find some on E-Bay. That install went well after removing the head liner except we had the same malfunction. Dan traced down the schematic only to discover the new unit was for a 2006 Volvo. He was able to re-pin a connector on the assembly to make it work properly. My parents have been coming here (Wright's German Motors) for nearly 30 years with their classic and then newer Mercedes. When I inherited my dad's pristine ML430 I needed a shop to do the work I couldn't complete myself. Recently I had a suspension issue and also needed a new transmission conductor plate (a messy job!). Jared and his crew got me in and out quickly and even let me use the OEM transmission fill kit I had on hand to save a few dollars! Great communication and I knew what was needed up front with no surprises. Cost on parts was reasonable considering they use OEM, WAY better than what Westminster MB would have charged me! I had to buy a new car after mine had unfortunately bit the dust and was referred to Arvada German Garage by my Ford mechanic as well as Napa Auto Parts for service on my new car. Additionally, my brother had brought his late model BMW to Arvada German Garage and thought they were reasonable and did good work, so I figured this would be the place to bring my car for its timing belt replacement. Unfortunately, I made a horrible mistake. They replaced my timing belt, but never finished reassembling my engine covers, which only required about $15 in clips that i ultimately ended up paying for at Napa after picking it up. This led to the engine melting insulation and plastic. After four days of it being in their shop again, I still ended up having to get clips as they hadn't finished the job yet. While I think it was in Mike's best interest (owner) to repair the car and other repairs needed complimentary, he just referred me to another shop. Needless to say, I would never recommend anyone to the Arvada German Garage. It was nothing but a horrendous experience, with just as bad customer service. For the future, I would recommend not lipping off to a customer like their associates did when I called in to schedule the appointment, check on the status for pick up, and then only to have to bring it back in because they hadn't done the job correctly in the first place. $1600 not well spent, only to have more headaches. read more

The worst customer service experience ever! Do not use this business! I have taken a previous car to be repaired at this business before, and after the repair was complete my car was idling really high and I took it back and the owner (Mike Solis) told me the mechanic forgot to connect something and he fixed it and it was fine. I was concerned but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. The front office lady, not sure of her name was there and very rude but again I just let her rude behavior go because I assumed she was having a bad day. However, today, (10/8/2021), I took my new car in to get a competitive quote for a repair I had diagnosed from the dealer, so I could select the best option. I had already emailed them a few days earlier without a reply so I decided to go in person. When I got to the front desk the lady there (blonde woman named Nikki, I believe) was so rude and gave me a quote double the dealer quote and when I asked her what that included, she said it was for two Pre-Cat 02 sensors ( 2013 328i BMW). I said I only needed one and would like a quote for one and asked if she could give me a total cost with taxes. She said, in the rudest tone I have ever heard "I don't have time to do that" even though there were no other customers there! When I said, well I don't think you need to be rude to me and I don't think my request is unreasonable. Then Mike the owner came in and said "what is the problem", and I explained I was simply trying to get a complete cost with taxes and he said "well when you go to a restaurant you don't ask then for a complete cost with taxes". What! Seriously, ridiculous. I said the issue is not only my asking for a complete quote but the fact that she was so rude about it. I said how do you expect to stay in business if you treat your customers and prospective customers like this and Mike said " oh yeah, we are closing our doors tomorrow". Wow. After shopping around for a mechanic I'm thankful this is where i went. As a single mom, I've been taken advantage of by other shops in the past but I never have to worry about that here. The entire staff has always been friendly, dependable, fair, honest, and prompt on all services and repairs I've had done. I am always given an explanation/description of what's going on with my car, often including pictures that help me to understand so I am never left confused or speculative. I am also given options on what to proceed with and they always place me and my family's safety #1. Complimentary Uber rides are given if you need a ride to work. Many times they have gone above and beyond to help me.. Ex: one time they brought my car to my home after they repaired it because I was stranded there with my toddlers; another time the thoughtful mechanic worked on my car through his lunch; and recently my wipers stopped working while it was snowy and thankfully they got me right in and out within hours. The owner and his whole crew really care about their customers. 10/10 recommend Arvada German Garage if you have a European make such as BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW etc. read more

I began my relationship with Arvada German Garage when my 2014 BMW wouldn't pass emission testing. The garage was booked solid a couple weeks out, but Mike (who answered my call) told me to bring it in anyway and he would have diagnostics run. It turned out to be a sensor. Although they couldn't fix it right away, they did turn off the check engine light and performed a reset to hopefully pass emissions- heeding a warning to bring it back right away if the light came back on- well, I passed!! The light did turn on again, so I returned to the shop. I've since had my brakes done, an oil change, and the sensor problem corrected. I've been treated fairly and honestly. Although their pricing is reasonable and comparable to other shops, I can't always afford to take care of everything at once. I feel the staff really helps me in determining what to prioritize for not only the car but my safety as well. I highly recommend Arvada German Garage if you want honest work at a fair price while being treated with respect! read more

I have taken my Mini into Arvada German Garage multiple times for various reasons. Some for oil changes and others for maintenance which is normal for my vehicle and the mileage it has. I have never had anything less than amazing service. Each time, everyone has been extremely helpful and walked me through what was needed during each visit and how much it would cost. They have worked with my warranty company and stepped up to help me out when going to them for the first time I visited and needed to get authorization from my warranty company. I will continue to return my vehicle to them and no one else. read more

I have had mixed experiences here -- in the four times I have brought my Volkswagen here, the work has been completed on schedule only once. One of those times it was over three days late. It's also of note that the given estimate has always been at least $100 lower than the final price. The pricing seems standard (in line with what I have paid elsewhere), and the service is very friendly, if not the most communicative. I have had unauthorized charges and difficulty getting in touch, but these were fairly minor problems. What I disliked about my experience is that I never come here just once -- unlike at other shops, I'll always have another issue come up within a day or so of driving away from Garage 5601. This is probably just bad luck on my part, but I will no longer go to this mechanic, and I would not recommend it to my friends after the slew of issues I have had, especially considering that some of those minor issues were "solved" only to come back within hours. Not the worst mechanic I've been to, but far from the best. Apparently everyone else has had a great experience, so your mileage may vary. read more

I've taken my car there on three separate occasions and each time he missed the promise time to have it ready anywhere from three to six days. I kept calling on the six day late repair and heard nothing but whining about his help or he had more expensive cars to get to first to pay the bills. That was the final insult. I'll never go there again, he does need to tweek his people skills. If you can't have it done when you say it will be done...then look to get into another business where you don't have deadlines. I'm not sure why this shop has 3.5 stars. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. I took my car in for a tune up, oil change and to see why my check engine light was on. I knew the erg valve needed work and another diesel piece needed work after failing an emissions test because of that. The tune up stuff was very reasonably priced and they checked into the engine light issues. They could have given me an estimate and taken my money to fix those high price repairs. Instead, they called my vw dealership to see if those things were covered under my warranty, they are. They did all of the leg work in Speaking with the dealership and Nikki was kind enough to write down the readings so I know what to say is wrong when I take it to the dealership. It's also very comforting as a woman, to see a woman working at the shop. I've had a lot of car shops take advantage of my ignorance of cars. Nikki explained what my engine light reading meant and that there are federal laws in place for cars like mine, because VW and other car companies who got into diesel cars, they did too much and people were failing emissions and unable to register (which is the boat I've been stuck in). I will now be taking my car to this shop for any car needs. I know I can trust them, their customer service is unlike any other I have experienced at any car shop and they provide great quality work. After I took my Smartcar to the Mercedes Dealership in Westminster for a quote, I took my car to Arvada German Garage like Flash Gordon. The Dealership quoted me exactly DOUBLE to make various repairs on my car. Jared and Arvada German Garage got back to me instantly by email and phone, suggested a tow-truck driver to retrieve my car (and they paid half of that). The diagnosed the car the same day, sent me an estimate (literally HALF the dealership) and had the car fully done in a day. Clean premises and very pleasant staff. I could hardly believe it all. They made best of a difficult situation with a dying battery. In mid 2017, I had Wright German Motor, now Arvada German Garage (AGG), replace a 6 year old battery in my wife's Audi as a preventative measure. 18 months later the new battery died. I took it to AGG not knowing Wright had retired. It turned out the new owners use a different battery supplier and could not obtain a new no- cost battery under warranty. They did install a new battery for about half price, $153, which I thought was fair considering the circumstances. The first new battery cost $400, so the $153 looked pretty good. read more
