Worst service ever! I'd made an appointment at this location. My adult son showed up for it, on time. Then they said they had no appt on the books. Evidently, their mechanic who'd answered the phone, forgot to put the appt on the schedule. We gave them a second chance and made another appt to come back. My adult son, once again, took my car in for this oil change. Note: I had just gone through a major surgery, so could not take my car in myself. Once again, my son showed up on time. Then, three hours went by, before they even started the oil change. They made some lame excuse. I ended up very late for my post-op appt. with my surgeon, because they were so late. I was so upset. On top of that, they put in the wrong oil: conventional, instead of high-mileage, like requested. I told them we would not be paying for this bad service, and the woman on the phone with me, working the front desk just put the phone down and walked away from my call. read more

This store will sell you services you don't need, and then they won't stand behind their service when they do something that causes your car issues. I brought my car in at 68,000 miles, and they told me I needed new spark plugs. I didn't know at the time that spark plugs were supposed to last 100,000 miles. And a mechanic was telling me I needed it, so I listened. 8,000 miles later, the end of a spark plug (that this Firestone installed and told me I needed) broke off into the 4th cylinder because a technician tightened it too much, and the end of the spark plug cracked. I drove around for ~8k miles before the spark plug finally broke off, and now it has ruined my engine. So, I wouldn't even be in this position if they A) wouldn't have sold me a service I did not need for another 33,000 miles and B) if the technician would have done their job correctly. My dad is a mechanic and worked at the highest-grossing (and privately owned, aka, not corporate) Firestone in North America for over 20 years as their head mechanic. One reason they were the highest grossing is that people from all over our state would come BECAUSE my dad is an honest man and because he wouldn't sell someone something they did not need. I would not recommend this Firestone location to anyone, knowing what I know now. I am also a woman, and the woman at the front desk said to me, "Maybe you can talk to your dad and he can explain it in a way that you can actually understand." I know I am a woman, but I am not an idiot. I have a degree in Physics and understand mechanics very well. I also understand that something can crack, but it won't actually break until enough force has been applied over time. Again, I wouldn't be in this situation if I wasn't sold a service I did not need. I have had issues with this store before, but because it was "under new management," I decided to give it another try. After they came "under new management," they installed windshield wipers wrong; when I went to use them while it was raining, the rubber part flew off, and then the plastic part scratched my windshield. They also forgot to reset my oil life (I thought maybe they didn't change my oil, but I checked it and they did). And they have not rotated my tires before and claimed they did. I know they also have to reset the tire sensors, but they didn't even rotate them, and I knew that because of a mark I put on one of my tires. read more

Booked an oil change with them online and received a confirmation email saying that they received my booking and would call me if anything came up such that they couldn't take my car that day. Brought my car in, and the manager was SO rude. Acted like I was a crazy idiot for thinking I had an appointment so I showed him my confirmation email. He reluctantly agreed they'd do the oil change but grumbled that it was going to take him two hours. I politely said that works for me. I come back after it's supposed to be done, wait about 40 minutes until it's done. Charged me $120 for an oil change on a Ford Focus. I've never paid more than $40 for an oil change on that car. He said he topped off all the other fluids in the car. The next day, I run out of windshield wiper fluid, suspicious since he had "topped it off" the day prior. I go to open up my hood to replace the windshield wiper fluid and the hood won't open anymore...it opened fine before I took it to Firestone. I had to take it to my car mechanic who informed me that Firestone had broken my car and the part I had to get replaced was $450. DO NOT GO HERE - unless you want to get scammed and have your car be returned to you in worse condition than when you brought it there. read more

I walked in the front shop to get help adding air to my tires. Not that I can't go to a gas station but they are Firestone tires and I didn't wait to pay $2 when they will fill them for free here. So I waited about 5 minutes for the person at the counter to get off the phone, when he did he looked right through me and walked to the back, and didn't return for 10 more minutes. Kind of horrible. Not in the sense that they are rude or mean. A company is about the people who work there and the people who work here honestly seem to care less. They sound half asleep when you call in to set an appointment. They put you on hold for what I can assume would be more than 5 mins. I hung up at 5 mins. When I went in they told me it would take 2 hours. I said I had an appoint for right now they said ok 1.5 hours. Nonchalant. The problem is when you're a busy person on a schedule trying to get thIngs done, you have to rely on people. I told the dude from Cali, that I couldn't wait. He didn't care. Didn't ask to reschedule. Just walked away. Didn't care. This isn't the first time. Why would I set myself up for frustration again. Won't be back. After a quick google search in their parking lot, there are at least 3 other places to get an oil change within a mile. I picked Jiffy Lube. Let's see how that works out. Firestone needs new mechanics! I have brought 2 different vehicles in here. First one i said please check the actuator, the heat isn't turning over like it should. They didnt check that, they came back with a quote for a thermostat. When I said no, please check the actuator again, I was right and they fixed that part . but not until i asked a second time.. the second time I just went for an oil change, I figured what could go wrong! A month after the oil change with just regular trips back and forth, my oil was bone dry and the engine had thrown a rod. The Hyundai people said 'the last place that changed your oil probably didn't put the cap on all the way and it had leaked out slowly. Thanks! I have an engine to fix on a car that isn't paid off yet.. so I got a beater! It's my fault for bringing the vehicles here again, it is! But when it is only a few blocks from work and having a busy schedule it was my only option! anyways, last week I brought the beater in. The car died in the heat 3times in 100 degree weather. Firestone then tells me it's the engine. The engine has low compression and the cylinders 1 & 4 aren't firing. They said go to an engine mechanic, it's down the street. I did not take it to the recommenfed mechanic because I figured this is all a scam at this point. I had a friend look at my engine after this 'diagnosis' and say I just tightened the screws on the air intake for the engine, they were very loose. my beater works fine with no additional engine mechanic. Do yourself a favor and save your money! Dont do what my ass did and get screwed over thousands of dollars. read more

Every time I've gone there I pick up multiple screws and bolts out in front of the bay doors. Does that mean people are leaving without everything secured properly???? I received a call the day before requesting to come in at 10am instead of my scheduled 1pm "so they would have time to do the tuneup before their mechanic left at 3pm." A little inconvenient, but I made it work. I dropped my Jeep off and had no problem with that. They estimated the tune up to be done by 3pm. I HAD TO CALL at 3:30pm to check in on my vehicle. They had not even touch my jeep the whole time and then told me they would need to keep it over night to work on it the next morning. I went and picked my vehicle up and will not be returning. Even when you have an appointment to drop off your vehicle, they don't consider that an appointment, according to Sean, they will get to your car when they can. Ready for the story? Here we go... Mama Calls me frantically on her way to work, tells me her tires are low but not taking any air. We go discuss tire pressure, and determine she's good to make it to a discount tire down the street so off she goes. DUDE at Discount doesn't even take a pressure reading or lift the car to take the tires off and immediately tells her "you need tires asap". My wife hears "YOU"RE GONNA DIE!" Dude offers to take her in to get her all priced up where she calls me and i second guess the tool at discount and convince her otherwise. She rolls to Firestone and they explain in detail why she needs new tires...and an alignment. Jerry took his time and shows my wife what he's talking about and even explained to me over the phone what and why...and how much. We got a screaming deal on the tires and lifetime alignment. Showed up at 755 and sat in my car until 845 waiting for them to open. They just chose never to show up today I guess. Someone was in there and hiding from us. Currently waiting for an oil change and tire rotation. Scheduled in advance for 8am and currently it's past 1. Walked to Lakeside pho for a long lunch would recommend if you're ever this predicament. Customer service is very nice, saw him deal with a very rude and demanding woman very well given her attitude and opinions on car issues she has not much experience in. They optimistically told me around 2 hours but it's looking like six to seven hour wait. Maybe to even joke that the mechanics get paid by the hour. I admit it - when I saw the reviews, I was nervous to go. But I really needed new tires, and I've gotten plenty of general Firestone recommendations in the past. So I set up an online appointment and crossed my fingers. I'm really glad that I decided to give Firestone off of Eaton a shot this past weekend! The fellow working the front desk (I believe his name was Mike) was engaging, friendly, and informative without trying to wheel & deal me - something I'm not used to in a car/mechanic chain environment. Not only that, I was given prompt updates based on my projected timelines while waiting in the front area. I mentioned wanting to swap out my spare for the best remaining and he advised there'd be a small charge but no problem. Then he came back and let me know he could totally do that...but honestly my existing spare was better than any of the road tires so I should probably save myself some hassle/money and they could just check the air on it. Delighted with that news, I let him know I trusted his opinion in that case and to leave it be. He came back again a short while later, apologetically, because their only balancer had broken down and they were working their best to get them balanced the old fashioned way for me. He knocked off the price for balancing, told me to head back in next week gratis to correct any vibrations - which is what I'll be doing (though their eyeball work was pretty spot on, I have to admit). Whatever changes they've made since the previous reviews is obviously working; I'll definitely be heading to this Firestone for any tire/wheel needs I have in the future. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED! SEAN IS THE WORST! They have their calls forwarded to other locations that take appointments for them when they can't even access the calendars for other locations. I had an appointment at another location and wasn't notified, so I dropped my car off at Eaton Street and they were closed. Sean didn't see a problem with that system, so they are closed on Sunday and Monday and their phone numbers are incorrect on Google, twice. Received an estimate for over $8,000 in repairs that were 100% false, and they botched my oil change. After using faulty parts on my oil change, they didn't accept blame for oil leaking and are requiring I drop off the vehicle, so they can maybe get it fixed! I had gotten some oil changes and minor work done here which seemed reasonable and well done as far as I know. A couple of months ago my power windows quit working and I took it in. They told me it wasn't a fuse and it would cost a hundred dollars to diagnosis the problem. I decided to wait because it was cold, (didn't need to roll down windows) and I didn't have an extra $100 just to find out what was wrong. It's getting warmer now and I needed to figure this out. My buddy told me he really thought it was a fuse because both windows stopped working at the same time. I got out the Ford manual and found the window fuse location and number. I pulled it out and it looked fried. I went to an auto parts store, bought a package of them, plugged the new one in in the parking lot, started the car and pushed the window down button. It worked. Hmmmmmm I am giving this one star rating because if you don't have trust with your auto mechanic. What else matters? read more

I went in for an alignment because I had a tie-rod replaced at one of their sister shops and it started pulling hard to the right after the initial work was done. Scheduled the appointment for first thing in the morning and they didn't even get my car in at the scheduled time. My car then had a notification that I had to do some recall work and took it to the dealership, at the dealership they did a visual inspection and noticed that the technician that did the alignment last (at this firestone) didn't tighten down the jam nut for the tie-rod after the alignment and now my tires are showing excessive wear even though they are new. Very upset with the fact that now I have to bring it back here to get the work redone once again. read more

I have had as good of service as you would expect from a tire shop. They often recommend repairs that aren't necessarily needed, but that is expected from any of these places. Stick to tires and oil changes and go to a true mechanic for car repairs. Also, they tend to WAY under inflate your tires. Check the pressure before leaving and have them fill it to the recommended tire range. I have Firestone tires and they that should be filled to 40 psi but they tend to fill them to 30. Not sure why they aren't capable of filling a tire to proper tire, but overall I have always been happy with their service. read more

The staff are all amazing, helpful, and informative when it comes to explaining the issues with my car. I've been so thankful for that because it's hard to trust car places being a female. Awful and the worst customer service I've ever had! In the last 4 months I took both of my cars here for 8 new tires. One of my cars recently got a nail in the tire, so I took it in to have it removed. However they tried to charge me $25 to do so!?! I asked them about it and they said it's their policy in a rude, lady you're wasting my time tone. I then told them about how Discount Tire would take care of it for FREE, and they replied with, "this is not Discount." So I left and went to Discount only to find out that the nail was in an area that they cannot unfortunately repair and I would need a new tire. They also informed me that Firestone should have a road hazard warranty (like Discount does)and should take care of it...needless to say I've now handed the task over to my husband to take care of. Scheduled an oil change appointment online, showed up and had to wait an hour. After paying for the service, there was no mention of the issue with the serpentine belt. Just had the receipts eMailed to me and that's how I found out I needed to get it replaced. Then, two days later, oil was leaking from my car in copious amounts. Took it back in and it turned out to be a damaged oil pressure sensor that was causing the leak. Coincidence? Probably not, but no way they'll admit fault. Essentially paid over $100 for an oil change. They didn't even bother to top off the oil I had lost from the leak. Had to return to complain. Then they tried to argue with me about the oil level being sufficient enough. Unfortunately, most anywhere you go, bad customer service is pretty much expected anymore, but these people are straight up, inept rapists. If you value your vehicle, time and hard earned money, STAY CLEAR. read more

My car was having problems right before a roadtrip and it was labor day weekend. I had googled the issues online, and found that another person, with the same car, was having almost the exact same issues, and they had finally found that it was their alternator. But a mechanic surely knows more than google about these things, right? Not at Firestone. I took my car to them because they were the only ones open and available on Labor Day weekend. After an engine analysis that cost $105, they decided it was my spark plugs and replaced them. When I got my car back, the problem had gotten even worse. I drove back and told them that after I had paid almost $500 it still wasn't running properly. They said they didn't know what to tell me. He said, and I quote, "Cars are complicated these days." He suggested that I fix the speed sensor (a convenience fix that would run me about $150) because MAYBE once that was fixed the computer (yep, I would probably have to pay another $105 for an engine analysis) would be able to find the real problem. Instead I braved the drive to my local mechanic in South Dakota, and guess what was wrong. MY ALTERNATOR. The same thing I had found after 10 minutes of googling it. Don't waste your time and money here. Update: After talking with them about how their engine analysis obviously didn't work, they did agree to refund me the $105.99 that the engine analysis cost. Unfortunately it still cost me about $300 in unnecessary repairs, but at least they refunded that. read more

Friendly fellow at the counter, but had them do a performance AC check, which they quoted me $1300 to fix. Check involves introducing a dye in the system to detect leaks. Decided to get a 2nd opinion and they saw no evidence that dye had ever been put in the system which leads me to believe that a proper test had not been performed. The 2nd shop quoted me $700.
