My Touareg developed a major oil leak. I had no tools or equipment to investigate so I took the car to Olde's. They identified the cause quickly. The canister-type oil filter was recently installed and done wrong. The O ring was caught in the grooves of the securing device and not in the o ring groove. They replace the filter element, added oil and got me sorted quickly. No messing around. Also, I had a screw in my tire--which I knew but forgot to tell them about. The technician saw that and repaired the tire without being asked. So, so helpful and done with initiative. All done very reasonably. Awesome! Thank you read more

A hidden gem of a mechanic shop. Olde's has been in Evergreen since Evergreen practically existed and is run by a team of humble gearheads. I took my Dodge Charger there while home from college on winter break and they did an excellent service. It is a small place but quaint in every way. You know the place is proud and does good service when their front desk area has all sorts of cool posters, old cars, accolades, and memorabilia. I asked if it was getting time for an oil change, to take a look at my breaks, coolant, and exhaust to make sure the welds were holding. Turns out, I only needed the oil change and a little bit of coolant. They didn't try and upsell me on anything. They were very straightforward and extremely quick. Car was ready within an hour. Can't ask for better bang of the buck, bout $110 total after looking at everything. P.S. They filled my windshield wiper fluid up for free. Thanks Olde's! read more

I drove there to make an appt. Then I came back with another driver to drop off my truck and take me home. They announced that didn't have me on the schedule. The desk guy was obsessed with finding out who made the appt. Since the mechanic didn't introduce himself I didn't get his name. The guy was clearly not happy and started making me feel like it was my fault. I even offered to leave my truck a second day. More grumbling and a pronouncement that that won't help. I no longer felt that my truck was going go get proper service and not some rush job by a pissed off mechanic. So I took my keys and left. Here's the response I was looking for: Oh sir I don't see you on the schedule but if you had an appt we will get you in. Leave your keys and we will call when it's done. Bad customer service!! I dropped my car off and the service guy took a look at it and called me back. He quoted me $951 'out the door' was the words he used and told me he should have it ready by end of day(Monday) if not then by Tuesday. Wednesday morning came around so I called to get an update. The guy told me it would be done by end of day(a day later then he had told me). At the end of the day he called to say it's ready, I asked did anything else come and he said nope it is good to go. I go pick up the car and the bill is almost $100 more with no explanation. It's really frustrating to be told a price and have it increase by almost $100, especially when nothing else was done on the car except what he said he was doing. It's even more frustrating that I had to wait a day longer than I was told without anyone reaching out to explain there was a delay. I would advise against going here. I won't be back! read more

I took my car in for snow tires to be put on. I am single so instead of arranging two rides, I walked home. 5 hours later I received a voice mail saying that they couldn't get to my car today... I work down the hill and needed them. Had they not told me the day before if they kept my car all day, I could have called other places and got it done. I was able to take it to Walmart. While I like to support local businesses as I am one, they were beyond accommodating! Go to Walmart and avoid bad service! read more

My car broke down right in front of them, at the intersection. A few mechanics and people from the quilt store next store ran out and pushed me through the intersection and into the parking lot. Figured may as well just them, since that's where I broke down. My timing belt died. The replaced that and the things that go with it for about $500. It took a little over a week, which is my only complaint. But price wise they were great, and they didn't try to upsell me on things. read more

Olde's Garage saved the day, my trip, my peace of mind as I was heading out to California from Chicago traveling alone with GOD on October 2 or 3, 2013 and my car broke down. These guys were sent by GOD, prayers answered. They helped me out . . . got my car running, and the price was right. As I was about to pay for my repair they told me to just pay a portion and wait until I got a job over in California and I could pay the balance and that is what I did. They didn't want me on the road without any money, as my funds were very low. The young man told me the place was his great, great (great?) grandfathers and it was instilled in them, passed down from generation to generation to help others out and treat people the way they wanted to be treat. My partner and I had made plans to escape into the mountains this weekend for some camping and hiking adventures. Just as we were leaving Denver on Saturday afternoon, my little SUV began to shake violently. As we continued down 285, the shaking progressively worsened. It got so bad that my car ended up swerving, out of my control. I pulled into Aspen Park but found that most mechanics in this area were closed for the weekend. The ones we called that were open had no time or interest to help us. My partner found the number to Olde's Garage in Evergreen and upon making the phone call, the guys there agreed to take a look at my car. It was the weekend and I know they had a full slate of other cars to attend to. We knew there was the possibility that the problem with my car wouldn't be an easy diagnosis or a quick fix. Despite all that, they still were happy to pencil us into their day. It took maybe 15 minutes for Danny and John to discover that the belt inside a recently replaced tire had torn. They said a blowout to that tire was imminent and we were very lucky to catch it when we did. They put a new spare tire on my car. Danny and I took it for a test drive and discovered all was back to normal again. When we made it back to the shop, he charged me $10 for the whole fix! We thanked them profusely and were on our way. Danny and John saved our weekend! Next time I need some work done on my car I think I will go the extra distance to get it done at Olde's. They are ultra friendly, honest, timely, and they know their stuff. read more

Oldes Garage is the best mechanic shop I have ever been to! All of the guys are extremely kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. They do not give up (my car was really difficult coming from the east coast with rust, etc..) and they are very communicative. It's a 45 minute drive out of the way, and absolutely worth it. The waiting area is the cleanest and homiest I have ever seen at a mechanic shop: it's actually very surprising! I convinced the mechanic to take a look at the car since I had already paid over $100 to have it towed to Olde's. In the 5 WEEKS it has sat in their parking lot, the guy looked at it one day and tells me the part it needs, he can't find from suppliers. I found the part in 5 minutes on the Internet! I drive from another town for service on my cars passing other shops. The work is always done competently, carefully estimated and timely. A top shop with top mechanics. I like the options I am given on older cars like live with the problem, repair with a new part or best to go with a used part. They can generally find a part super fast. Price always seems like about half of a dealership price and they make good on something that doesn't turn out right which has been very rare. read more

Very unhappy with the service. I took my truck in because of a knocking noise. I was charged double the price of retail parts that I could have purchased at NAPA. The mechanic Steve told me to show up at 7:30 a.m. and he didn't arrive until 8:00 a.m. He said it would only take a half hour to look over my truck instead I was at this garage for over 4 hours. He kept talking and helping other customers. He tuned my truck up and said I was good to go. I still had the knocking noise and took it back to him 3 weeks later because he didn't have any openings until then. He told me my timing chain was bad. My engine could have blown up in the meantime because when he tuned my truck up, he said my truck was fine. I called the owner Kate and she relayed a fictitious story that Steve told me my truck had a lot of miles on it and it could need more repairs. This is an outright lie. Kate then said that Monty who I had never spoken to defended Steve even though he was never present during mine and Steve's conversation. Byron witnessed Steve telling me my truck was fine. They overcharge for parts and you have to be careful if they tell you your vehicle is fixed especially if you still hear the noise you wanted fixed. I told Kate that I was on a budget regarding my finances and she replied "Yea, well everyone is on a budget!" This is typical of a lot of merchants and businesses in Evergreen in regard to having an entitlement attitude. I owned a men's clothing store in downtown Denver and I would have been out of business if I lied and acted impertinent as the owner and mechanics did regarding my service. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! I brought in my Mazda 3 months ago to do an oil change fix a squealing A/C belt. The mechanic did my oil and said the belt needed to be replaced but they would have to order the part but it can wait until my next oil change if I want. I waited for my next oil change to be due, brought my car back and once again they changed the oil but did nothing for the A/C belt like I had specifically asked. They said they "ordered the part" and I can bring it in the next day to get it fixed. they said they would "give a break on the price since I brought it in three times." I brought my car in thinking I would get a decent discount for my continued patience. They took off $5 for "hazardous material." There is no hazardous material when changing an A/C belt. And to top it off the guy who rang me up was rude and condescending when I asked him about the supposed "break" they were going to offer me for bringing my car in three times. So, to sum it up. They had my car for 3 days before they fixed a problem that should have taken an hour. They were rude, and acted like they did me a favor by taking off a charge that doesn't even apply to replacing a belt. Never again. I like helping mom and pop shops, but I hope this one goes out of business. read more

The guys at Olde's are always so nice and patient. On more than one occasion, I have stopped by with a tire issue - no appointment - just hoping someone could help me out with a flat or low tire. Today I did that very thing, when one of my tires was low and the valve cover was broken so i couldn't add air myself without someone being able to remove the broken valve cover which was stuck on there. Danny dropped what he was doing and after a few tries got the value cover off, added air to all my tires and replaced all the valve caps with plastic ones that can't break like the metal ones. He took the time to check my tire to see if there was any obvious reason for a leak. He was so kind and patient and charged me very little to fix everything. What a great place. They have ALWAYS treated me like this, and I cannot say the same of other tire places in Evergreen. Highly recommend! read more

They have done major repairs at better than the competitor's prices, and even confirmed on one occasion that I didn't require work that another shop told me was necessary! This is an experience you want to avoid. No questions asked. If you have an emergency and you think they're close and available, JUST DON'T DO IT. I've had several bad incidents with them on very simple maintenance projects. They couldn't install a simple rubber transmission mount (installed upside down) and don't know how to fix their work ie when car is vibrating so badly they obviously did something wrong. Change a tire ? No way ! JUST DON'T DO IT ! They changed my tire and then said they threw away another brand new tire ! Really folks ?! You trashed a brand new tire ?! Today was the latest. They sold me a car battery supposed to last 7 years. It didn't make it to 3. And then ? They refused to honor the warranty and wait for it . . . then tried to slam my fingers in the hood ! Seriously - had 3 guys yelling at me and then tried to slam MY car hood and MY fingers ! They are seriously not to be trusted. No skills. No integrity. No lawfulness.
