I felt their prices were reasonable. I had concerns about my shock absorbers and they could have easily added those for more money - but they examined them and informed me they didn't need replacement at this time. Although I trust James their mechanic, I was shocked today when they tried to charge me $540 for an o2 sensor that was $75 at napa. When I looked it up online and called their bluff and gave them the part number and price it went down to $137 of course that still almost twice the price times 4 sensors. I told them there's a new economic reality and you can't mark up parts 80-110% and expect people not to care., so I told them I would supply the parts and then they refused to do the work....... It pains me to have to say this but, Ed Marcy and the mechanics who work for him do not stand behind their work: they refuse to take responsibility for their own rather serious errors and omissions. Case in point, I referred my daughter to Ed for a repair of her Ford Fiesta, yet, when his mechanic failed to fix a chronic coolant leak, Ed and his mechanic refused to make it right -- instead they both gave me a load of BS -- they were utterly unconcerned that my daughter's safety was jeopardized on several occasions and that their errors may have caused serious damage to her engine (the engine light in now on persistently due to overheating, something she must now fix at her on expense). Marcy advertises himself as an honest, ethical, fair, and family-oriented businessman but, when put to the test, the man has proved himself both unethical and callous: he puts the dollar before the safety and well-being of his long-time, loyal customers and their family members. Even a very competent mechanic will make an occasional mistake, but the question then becomes, "How to correct that mistake?" Ed Marcy's mechanic make a mistake while attempting to properly repair my daughter's car but Ed Marcy does not have the strength of character to admit his mistakes nor does he have the strong moral sense that would compel him to stand behind his work on behalf of his customers, as required by good business ethics and by law. I cannot recommend Marcy's Automotive -- I will never do business with him again! read more

First timer and went based upon reco's on Yelp! Was very pleased with how friendly and personable the staff was and that they really cared about the business. Brian provided an upfront quote for the installation of a reciever hitch for a sports plow and advised how long it would take to get it done. Reasonable and accomodating as I could not get up from Denver before they closed... took my CC over the phone for the payment and locked the truck up so I could pick it up after hours. We are from out of town but called for some help with several issues including the dash lights. Peter, the guy who answered the phone, was very professional and friendly. When we got there we were met with genuine hospitality and had a nice chat. Then James came and fixed the car perfectly and charged us a reasonable rate. I was driving across country from WI to AZ. Around Bailey CO while descending the rockies my car started to shake and felt as if my brakes were shot. I had no idea what to do- 3 girls on a roadtrip with little car experience- went right to typical auto mechanic is going to run right over us and charge us for lots of things- but Marcys did the exact opposite. He was caring, pushed us ahead of the cars there to get it fixed as soon as possible. Gave us a AAA discount and allowed us to use his wireless while we waited. Quick, professional, friendly and caring. Come to find out the last mechanic put the wrong size breaks on my car!! Marcy's gave the faulty brakes back packed them up for even! Marcy's saved the road trip for sure! I would recommend them to anyone in the area!! read more

I cannot say enough about the great, friendly, accommodating service I've experienced here. As a single woman, I'm pretty clueless about things automotive until they've reached the critical stage. Several months ago they rescued me when my transmission was showing all the signs of imminent failure. I was frantic. They took me in immediately, made the diagnosis and found that a bracket that was recently installed had failed. Today they rescued me again when I checked my oil to find there was none. I live about 1/4 mile away and went right to Marcys because I didn't know if my car would make it any farther. Again they rescued me. Two quarts of oil, and they sent me on my way. The folks at Marcy's are pretty nice, but they fail to deliver, especially when it comes to vital fluids. I went for an oil-change special a couple of years ago and later that week my oil pressure light came on. The vehicle was nearly 2 quarts low! That was no special deal. Going years back, They rebuilt the engine on my Volkswagen Bug. I took a test drive and yes, my oil sender light was going crazy. I coasted downhill as much as possible and bought a few quarts and it was just enough to get me back to the shop. The oil screen was not tightened properly and I was blowing oil all over the road. Marcy's corrected it, but you'd thing a little test drive would be in order after a re-build. Service seems to have gaps and when it comes to oil, it really not negotiable. If it runs out, the engine is gone. I was glad the rebuilt engine was not ruined and I'm glad my young self had the presence of mind to coast it down the pass to save that engine. read more

Been here off and on every couple of years for minor work. Have no complaints about the quality of the work done, but every time I leave, I always feel like I've paid way more $ than I should. Our beloved 4Runner failed emissions! The testing center gave us a booklet listing all qualified emissions repair specialists. In Colorado your mechanic must sign off on the repair and they keep track of their success rate. Marcy's has a perfect record! Anyway, I was expecting to pay $500-700 for a new catalytic converter but i ended up paying $320 out the door. :-) Very friendly staff. Ed was very nice to us and explained everything clearly. Within 2 hours we were out the door and off to the testing center. Our 4Runner passed with flying colors. Very Happy with the garage. Highly recommend it. read more

A dealer "down the hill" told me I needed a new $2,300 transfer case on my 4WD. I told the dealer I felt it was more of an electrical issue sending poor signals to the transfer control module since the dealer had installed a new module recently (that it turns out I likely didn't need) and that I wanted to get a second opinion. I took my truck to Marcy's (my first time to the shop) with the same information I gave the dealer. A little corrosion cleaning, new wires and $106 later I was out the door and the truck was running as good as new. I now take all my vehicles to Marcy's. read more

I'm pretty sure they sabotage my car because I wouldn't pay the $3000 they wanted me to pay within 24 hours of leaving my car had leaked all of its fluids they never asked me about running $115 radio diagnostic fee which they told me the radio is broken but was fixed after I told them what I wanted done so they overcharged me without asking me and sabotage my car do not come here so for a recap after my car is totally fixed they tried to price everything to me as a new product but put refurbished parts in and charge me the same amount and what they were trying to charge me $3500 for was only $1800 at another shop read more

I'm not from the area but had an experience with this garage a few weeks ago on my travels from the east coast to the west coast. While in CO I noticed my vehicle was over heating and took it here first place I stumbled across. Thy were kind enough to take my car in same day for diagnostics and determined I needed a head gasket at the cost of $1800 and a few days minimum to fix. They basically told me my 2005 was not worth fixing and they could sell me another car cheap. I decided to take the vehicle to a dealer for a second opinion against my judgement of going there but I needed to know for sure. I'm glad I did in the end what I was told was a $1800 head gasket by This garage ended up being a less then $300 and only one day fix of a thermostat housing and thermostat. I don't like to bash anyone or leave a negative review either bit just can only offer 2 stars here after a nearly $2 k false repair diagnosis. read more

I first had a few good experiences with Marcy's but then had one that will cause me to never go back again. To try and boil it down into a few bullets: - quoted me a price to do a job and then changed it dramatically. I understand that, but when I told them to put it back together and I would pick it up and pay for the work already done, minus that piece, they got VERY nasty. Their "Jeep Expert" got on the phone, told me he was in control now, threatened me to throw the gas tank in the back and I could tow it off or show up with cash and pay for everything they had done, including the work on the part they changed dramatically. He then hung up the phone on me. Nice. Too bad he didn't tell me by law that one of my options was to have them put it back together and by law they had to do so at no additional cost since the quote had changed. - put in another used tank and didn't even tell me. put in another used fuel pump and when it didn't work, told me that it was too bad that it was a used part, not warrantied and if I wanted it fixed, I would have to pay for all the work again. - when I asked the owner if he could work with me on pricing, he asked me if I wanted to "see his paycheck". One of his guys asked me if I wanted to work on his car for "free". Super professional. In the end I had to let them finish the work and pay for it and then when it didn't work, take it to the Jeep dealer and get it fixed for another $700.00. There is something to be said about the dealer. At least when they give you a price, they fix it right and stick to that price. I wanted to give my business to the local guys, but they are so unprofessional and expect you to overpay and then don't stand behind their work. Mr. Marcy and one of the guys are very nice, the "Jeep" guy was the worst I have ever dealt with and candidly made both my wife and son nervous about even going in to pick up the vehicle. Something I won't stand for. . They have been in business long enough that I'm sure they must do some things right but for a few hundred dollars and the way the treated us they lost a customer with 3 vehicles that would have probably been a customer for the next 20 years, not to mention everyone I have told about how awful they were, vs. the opportunity to tell people the opposite. Expensive and incompetent. When an automotive repair shop makes excuses for their technicians there should be accountability. They had the Jeep for 3 days for repairs and when we got it back the steering wheel was not aligned. (You know that feeling when you are driving straight and the wheel is turning right!) Well, not only was there inconvenience on our part to have to take the vehicle back, but, they charged additional fee for their incompetence. Save yourself time and money. This is the worst shop I have ever had the misfortune of taking a car to. Not only are they completely incompetent, but they will lie to your face. They caused more damage to my car than it had when I brought it in. I have photographs of the car on their lift showing where they needlessly disconnected all of my brake lines. Bent the lines, cut a pulley in half and caused other damage to my car. When I picked the car up to take it to a different shop, to have it repaired correctly. I saw that they had not hooked some of the lines back up. (Again I have photos of it in their lot) When I told them about it they said "we didn't disconnect any brake lines" These people are the most dishonest people I have ever had to work with. RUN, DON'T WALK FORM THIS PLACE!. If I would have driven the car to the other shop, I would have been in a major accident. They don't care if you or anyone else gets killed by their negligence. read more
