Complete Failure, Property Damage, and Total Refusal to Take Responsibility This was one of the worst home renovation experiences I've ever had. I spent over $20,000 with Cabinets To Go, who used Sage Surfaces to coordinate installation and hired Ramos Marble and Granite in Saint Petersburg, FL to do the work. What followed was incompetence, damage, and complete disregard for the customer. The problems started immediately. During the first install, Ramos installed the wrong backsplash (4" instead of the full backsplash I ordered). That mistake required everything to be torn out and redone. During the second installation, I stayed in the room specifically because trust was already gone. That decision proved necessary -- I personally watched the installer drag my stove across my floor instead of lifting it, leaving a long, obvious scrape in my new flooring. When I reported the damage, Ramos' operations manager asked for photos, which I sent immediately. A few hours later, she claimed their installer never moved my stove at all -- a statement that was simply untrue. She wasn't there. I was. I then escalated to Cabinets To Go and Sage Surfaces. Both companies said they were "working on it," then did absolutely nothing. No follow-up. No accountability. No compensation. The estimate to repair the damage is $1,800. This entire experience exposed a system where everyone takes your money, no one takes responsibility, and the customer is left paying for contractor damage. For a national brand and a $20K+ purchase, this level of negligence and indifference is unacceptable. If you're considering Cabinets To Go, Sage Surfaces, or Ramos Marble and Granite, understand this: when something goes wrong, you're on your own. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. read more

We bought a dated house, and are undergoing. remodeled of the kitchen and retitled two fireplaces. The kitchen was contracted thru Lowe's. Lowe's doesn't have soapstone so they contracted out to Ramos (by way of Olympia Stone). We used Marine Black (kitchen) and Honed Black (fireplaces). David and Rory hit it out the park by going above and beyond on both jobs. They explained everything each step of the way and called us over to answer clarifying questions and to show us the progress. Also want to call out Dilia for her patience, I'm sure that I was a little annoying, particularly because I had to deal with complications and lack of communication from Lowe's regarding the kitchen. Dilia explained what she needed so that I could push Lowe's in order to get the job done. The price was fair due to the material used. We need to remodel the master and upstairs bathroom, will absolutely use Ramos again for the countertops. read more

We have used Ramos for all of our countertop remodels and they have always delivered a quality product with quality installation. They make the process so easy and it is obvious that every employee takes pride in their company and product!! We did another kitchen remodel with large countertops a few months ago and Gail did an amazing job plotting out the flow of the slabs in order to keep the flow aligned and minimizing seams. The installers were fantastic as well!! Special recognition to Gail, Layla, and Rory!! Horrible experience, lack of professionalism and knowlege in the industry. We went through Lowes (which Ramos was the only company they use). The template was taken and completely not cut correctly leaving 1/2 inch gap against the wall in some places. The installers then cut the granite in our home, which caused dust and a mess. I asked them to do it outside and they stated they can't. Like other reviews, they were messy, unprofessional and scratched our new sink. I would recommend not going to Ramos on your own or through a big box store. read more

We bought kitchen cabinets at Lowe's and granite. Ramos Marble and Granite came to install the granite. The Installers were very messy. First after taking templates for the kitchen sink is still cut it wrong. They had to pull it off and place it again. Second they chipped the granite in 3 places while installing. Third they refused to give me credit for the chipped granite. The installers were very messy left glue all over and scratched my new kitchen cabinets. read more

I was clear about my renovation plan and precise with drawings and photographs when I went to Ramos Tile for a new kitchen and bath countertop.... but after waiting 2-3 months for installation, they disregarded my plan and I ended up with what I did not want. I wanted to keep my original mid-century pink kitchen sink. They were nervous about this, but didn't say they couldn't do it. They mandated that I have a backup sink (drop-in) handy for installation. They sent two Spanish speaking guys to a job that needed expertise with a 1959 sink installation. Needless to say- I had to use the stainless drop-in sink because they couldn't figure it out and I was given no alternative. I later found out that my pick sink would have fit- if they hadn't over cut the corners in the quartz!!! Did I mention that they tried to sell me on accepting a seam in the middle of my counter height bar? I had to help them figure out how to cut the slab so I didn't have to look at a seam all the time. AND they didn't even cut the counter right at the facility, so the guys had to trim it outside of my condo. This left the caulking at about a quarter inch thick!! OH and the bathroom counter? They were afraid to remove the existing tile to install the new. They dropped this part of the job after the kitchen debacle. Basically Ramos is a "slam bam no thank you mam" company. If you need creativity and problem solving- Home Depot would be better than Ramos (and yes, this is a low dig) Ramos Manager was nothing but defensive and did nothing to solve my dissatisfaction. Find another tile/stone company. read more

Did an unbelievable job in the kitchen had the Quartz counter tops and bar done. The quality of the product and the workmanship on the counter tops and installation was superb. There was an issue when they unboxed the sink it had a small dent not their fault from the manufacturer. They even agreed to come on a Sunday to install a new sink. We had such a phenomenal experience with Gail Grafton at Ramos Marble & Granite. My husband and I were building a new home and had been provided 3 options for countertop fabricators by our builder. After discussion with and consideration of each, we decided on Ramos and are so happy with our decision. There was admittedly a lack of return calls and emails at the very beginning, but once we got the ball rolling, everything was smooth sailing. Their prices are competitive and service is fantastic. When I got to our house the Friday of Memorial Day weekend knowing the countertops had been installed and saw that a polished steel grey granite had been installed when the only selection that remained constant from day one was leathered steel grey granite, I threw myself into a tizzy. Tuesday morning, Gail was on it and said she knew we wanted the leathered finish but it somehow didn't make it onto our proposal, so they would swap out the countertops at their expense. Now THAT is customer service. We have a combination of quartz and granite throughout our home (mostly quartz) and were fortunate that Ramos had a good selection of remnant pieces for our smaller rooms. Overall, I cannot recommend Ramos (and particularly Gail) more enthusiastically. read more

My husband & I recently built a new home. Our builder, PG Builders, uses Ramos as their stone supplier. Therefore, we went to their showroom multiple times to pick stone & review layouts for countertops throughout our home. We were paired with Gail Grafton as our customer service rep. We both found her to be unresponsive, condescending, & somewhat passive aggressive. Which explains to some degree several of the problems we had due to lack of listening on Gail's part. Problem 1: A small marble countertop was ordered for my son's bathroom. It arrived with the markings that I specifically told Gail I did NOT want during the layout process. Her response: "I couldn't remember what you said, so our fabricator just picked a part of the stone to use." It was replaced a month later and in that process their installers ripped out the counter top without turning off the plumbing. It literally rained through our downstairs can lighting from this error. Problem 2: The same marble was ordered for my master bathroom. It was delivered and installed about a month before move in (sometime 8/2014). The day it was installed I told our builder there was scratches all over the stone. Builder informed Ramos, yet no one came to inspect until a week after we moved in (end of September 2014). They then claimed they were not responsible for the scratches and charged our builder to install another piece. Took well over a month to bring the final stone. This final stone was delivered 11/12/14 and again was all scratched up & sealant applied incorrectly (milky residue). I was then told by the builder, Mike Pupello, and installer that "too bad; you are the only person who sees the scratches; and I was going to have to live with it". However, I refused to live with these scratches since I spent thousands of dollars on this marble and I hired a third party company who removed the scratches with a polishing technique in place that took only 1.5 hours to complete. 3rd Problem: We picked what we believed to be a quartzite counter top for our kitchen, laundry room, mud room, butler's panty and jack 'n jill bathroom. It was extremely expensive but we fell in love with the look of the stone. It appeared to have the look of marble, but we were told was hard like granite and much more durable since it would be used in the common areas of the home. After living with this stone for 2 months we are already seeing etching and permanent rings on the surface. Turns out according to the 3rd party I hired to fix my master bathroom marble, that my supposed quartzite is actually marble. Bottom line is that our experience with this company has been terrible from start to finish. Their employees provide horrible service, yet charge a premium. Would not recommend them to a single person I know and have no idea how they have an A+ BBB rating. read more
