I passed it every morning on my way to the bus stop and most mornings I'd stop for a cookie and a cup of coffee. I was always greeted with a smile and they talked to me like a person--not like a "delinquent" which is how many similar places treated me just for being a teenager. I moved away after high school and now make frequent trips back to Eureka (monthly at least) and I make sure to stop in for a treat whenever I can. Walking in the front door feels like walking into a family member's home--it's cozy, comfortable, and welcoming.

It hit the spot on a sunny Eureka day. To my surprise, I got a freebie, with the barista making more than what would fit in the cup. The excess was poured into an additional cup, and given for free. That was awesome. Speaking of the staff, they were great. Despite being a busy day and not many people working, they pushed through and i saw them handle all types of attitudes and customers with great care. I enjoyed my drink here for sure.

I came early in the morning and only had a donut and small coffee there and the price was reasonable. They have a seating area in front of their counter and a larger seating area adjacent. Lovely wall art that appears to be from local artist. I really want to give it 5 stars - the only downside was - and I have to be honest - there was a homeless man who came into the cafe and started yelling repeatedly at the clerk and other patrons. This is NOT the fault of the owners but when I'm in side of a restaurant or cafe and eating I think it's reasonable to want to feel safe. This was early in the morning and after this aggressive person left there were steadily more and more customers coming in and I felt safer/better This is a great place and I hope anyone who is visiting Eureka to stop by and enjoy this popular place

The pumpkin was a nice consistency, and just the right amount of sweetness. It was not overly sweet. Both Dad and I enjoyed it. The other pastry we had was a pineapple upside down cake, pastry. Again, a total home run. Moist, and the topping was amazing Four very decent size pastries, and I was out the door only seven bucks. That is an amazing price for pastry of this quality.
