The location is hard to beat, sitting right along the Missouri River. I've eaten both inside and outside and had a great experience either way. The patio is wonderful on a nice day, but the huge windows inside still give you a beautiful view of the river if you'd rather be indoors. The bartender was very friendly, and I struck up a conversation with most of the regulars sitting at the bar. Everyone was friendly and genuine. That can be difficult to find today. They had about four beers on draft and whatever else you might want in cans or bottles. I am not a liquor guy, but it looked like they had whatever you need to get the job done. The thing that made my visit to Bob's most worthwhile actually happened after I left. As I was walking back to my hotel, one of the local who was at the bar (but who I had not spoken to) stopped and asked if I needed a ride. Amazing. I highly recommend Bob's Lounge.

We started our evening with a Manhattan, which was ok and an Old Fashioned, which was not so good. Our first bit of food was the cheese curds, and they were great. Then they brought the loaf of soft bread and butter that melted in our mouths. For dinner, we ordered the walleye plate with broccoli and linguine. This was delicious.
