This is because I had such a terrible experience in their SM Aura branch. The noodles were badly cooked and the black garlic soup was too overwhelming and confusing. I also had a terrible experience in their ATC branch. That green soup ramen was not something I would like to experience again. It must be noted that both stores don't have good dining areas. But now, I fell in love with this place just after one bowl. People, you should try their Aburi Chashu ramen. It's their tonkotsu broth soup paired with roasted chashu. It's not just sliced pork that is dumped into your bowl. They roast the chashu which gives it better flavor and texture. For me, this made all the difference. I am now a fan. I loved it. The service was also excellent. The staff was so fast that I was in and out of that place in 20 minutes. Sometimes I have to admit that I am too loyal to Yushoken. But now, Ikkoryu is in a good position to have a bigger share of my ramen expenses.

Then I follow it with a bowl of their hiyashichuka - a cold, refreshing bowl of ramen served with slices of tamago, kani and cucumber. Best to push all of that down with either cold Japanese green tea or a tall glass of their Milo dinosaur. On days when I want a light snack, I head over to Ramen Cool and have their gyoza. Given the serving sizes, the good taste, and the restaurant's nice ambience and modern, funky interiors, it's always money well spent.

I was kinda surprised when I looked at the menu of Ramen Cool because they charge waaaaaay cheaper than your regular ramen joints in the Philippines. Not only that, I'm surprised that the quality of ramen they provide is in line with the big Japanese chains that proliferate around the metro. Apart from their pork ramen, I also fell in love with Ramen Cool's matcha drink. When I got there, I only spent around less than 300 and with other Japanese restos, that's already a great deal. They also provide great service on top of their high quality food.

I was probably expecting a lot as I didn't feel like I was very satisfied and happy with the ramen I got. Everyone else seem to like what they got, my kids included. But they did say they had better. Service was good and staff was friendly. Ambiance and decor was also great. Love their Japanese themed decor and the chairs with baskets to hold your personal items and bags or purses. I would liken this type of restaurant to Chipotle, where you can customize your order. Ramen Nagi is the fast casual version for Ramen. We were greeted with the enthusiastic Irasshaimase by the servers as we stepped inside. The restaurant had Japanese decor all around, with tables, chairs and benches for larger dining groups. Phia helped me customize my order based on my preference, which each one wrote on their own order sheets and later on collected by our server. Our sever delivered drinks and after a short wait, everyone's piping hot ramen. After my first sip of the broth, I could immediately tell these guys have something special going on. The rich broth was meaty, with a creamy texture. It was very tasty! Everyone in my group enjoyed their ramen-- including me as only remnants of the broth remained in my bowl after I was done... yes, we have a ramen convert here. If I had one quibble, it would be that the restaurant temp was on the warm side, which made some of us (not gonna name names Raphael) sweat profusely. However, if it were any cooler, the ramen would cool down pretty quickly. Although Ramen Nagi would be at a different segment and lower price point than Ippudo, I would have to say that I enjoyed my experience in Ramen Nagi QC, Philippines much more than dining at Ippudo in NY. I had a little bit of a problem with the menu because I don't eat pork, and all of their broth bases are pork-based. I was starting to get sad, but the waitress called the chef over, and he immediately informed me that he could make me a vegetarian ramen. I think that was rather very sweet of Chef Paul, who personally went out of the kitchen to offer me a non-pork option. It made my night, especially because their hospitality has allowed me to enjoy a really terrific and guilt-less bowl of ramen with my friends. I have the urge that I deserve to eat noodleas and rice at the same time. The pacing of the service is slow. There's a refillable service tea but they don't serve glass of water.
