Ever since Ippudo opened in the Philippines, it has become my standard when it comes to ramen, and they never disappoint. I'm glad that they now have a branch in BGC, and it's the most elegantly designed, by far. The same elegance can be observed in all their dishes, from appetizers to desserts. But most importantly, the signature broth of their Hakata-style ramen is consistently good, no matter what ramen you get: shiromaru, akamaru, or karakamen. Personally, my favorite is the akamaru because it's good enough on its own, but at the same time, there is still room for some freshly crushed garlic or sesame seeds. Ippudo is also known for their ramen sidekicks, and my favorites would be their okonomiyaki, nanban karaage, and deep-fried gyoza. All are perfect ramen partners, but I think the okonomiyaki is the best because of its chunky goodness that compliments their ramen's smooth, rich broth. :) * it is only after writing this review that I realized how forgetful I am - I wasn't able to take pictures of my akamaru ramen and my friend's karakamen! Boo me!*

I'm proud to say that Ippudo Uptown BGC is as original if not slightly improved as the original. The small additional offerings are savory and delicious and cooked to perfection. The menu is simple and easy to navigate, and the initial offerings are just as robust as the original. Come get a great a taste of an NYC classic before everyone else realizes how good this place is and you can't get a seat for hours like the original.

what kind of restaurant in the Philippines doesn't serve mango shakes AND rice (the night i went). Ruined my vacation mang. Like why I gotta be mad on vacation yo. I just want some ramen and feel like naruto and some white rice like kakashi. Instead I got baited by orochimaru

I ordered the second ramen option (the second spiciest) with medium cooked noodles.

I had high expectations for Ippudo, and the food absolutely delivered everything I was looking for. The broth is incredible: its consistency is just right and the flavors are rich and work together perfectly. I recommend getting the egg and cracking it open so that the yolk mixes into the broth, making the broth thicker and adding more flavor. I ordered the second ramen option (the second spiciest) with medium cooked noodles. It was the perfect amount of heat. I give the ramen 5 stars, but I would detract points for the pork bun. The combination of mayonnaise and pork just doesn't taste right to me. If you stick to the ramen, I highly recommend. Definitely one of the best ramen spots I've come across.

It doesn't have the international recognition of Ippudo or Santouka or the creativity of Nagi, but the ramen here feels as though someone is treating you for a nice dinner at home. There are only three flavors available of the ramen, the shiro (classic), kuro (garlic), and aka (spicy). I've had both the kuro and aka, and I can say that they are extremely satisfying. Neither the garlic nor the spice was too overpowering. The broth was also extremely well-balanced. Not too fatty but still smooth enough to make you want to slurp the bowl once you've finished. The pork cuts weren't as tender as I've had at other places, but still very well done. The tamago was also well done. Love the runniness! But what puts this place over the edge into 5-star territory is the price. You can get a super filling bowl of ramen here for only 230 pesos! And that's for the larger size! I wager that's basically half of what you'd pay at the more upscale mall places for nearly the same quality. I was also able to try one of their sets featuring a bowl of ramen of your choosing, their gyudon rice don on the side and a bowl of fresh fruits for only 360 pesos. I was stuffed after. So so worth it. The gyoza was also really well made, and a steal for only 100 pesos. The staff here is always super attentive and accommodating, even when we've come in with a larger group, and they do accept all major credit cards, which is a huge plus for me. Definitely worth a try. I don't have to venture out to the more upscale parts of the Metro to enjoy a well-curated bowl of ramen anymore!

She had a half serving of ramen and I thought I was having a half serving too but turns out my set came with a full serving! I was so full afterwards but that's all good because the food was so delicious. I especially appreciated the fact that the curry had cubes of beef and not the "malitid" strings of beef you find in other establishments.

I've already had my heart set on my favorite ramen restaurant but my lunch companion wanted to try something new. While hesitant, I figured why not. There's really no harm in trying. It might be good for me. So I ordered their best seller and figured that this does not look bad at all! The first I usually do in any of my ramen dishes is to take a sip of the soup. First sip was good enough, second sip was even better. Hey, this is definitely growing on me. I was also happy to find out that there are bigger and more pieces of meat at Ikkoryu compared to my favorite ramen joint that charges an extra P100 for an additional thin piece of meat. So plus points to Ikkoryu for that! While I still do prefer my favorite ramen joint (which is yet to be revealed), Ikkoryu Fukouka Ramen offers yummy noodle soup that can satisfy a hungry girl's craving for good ramen.
