So this is my second experience with Ramen Hayashi, and this one is different in the sense that I had it delivered rather than in person dining. Now I've had every accident that can happen with delivery, my order is wrong, something is missing, the food was cold or it never got delivered at all, but Ramen Hayashi left me with not a single problem! The food was still piping hot, the noodles and toppings were actually separated from the broth so that they weren't soggy, and the seaweed was in its own airtight baggy so even that was still good! Plus they included a set of chopsticks without request! (Tiny thing but still made me super happy!) I was on a ramen kick for a while while in the pandemic and I got them a couple times through doordash and they did not disappoint. We got some ramen bowls, some plates and appetizers and it was all soo delicious. the broth and the toppings were just soo delish and they separated some stuff when it was going to be delivered so it wouldn't end up soggy, and that was a HUGE plus, I mean it makes sense, but I would not have thought to do that, and it made the whole soup! I have waited for this ramen restaurant to open for a long time because my wife is from Japan and we really love great Ramen. I saw this building going up and the owner obviously put a lot of money into building the building but maybe they should have put a little bit more money into their cooks and the flavoring of their food. The Japanese cheesecake which was $6.50 was disgusting seriously that was something that had no flavor and I'm pretty sure that the whip cream wasn't real whipped cream that was gross. As far as the main dish was concerned we got a custom Ramen which had tonkatsu thin noodles chicken breast which they actually didn't have so we had to substitute steak marinated bamboo bean sprouts soft-boiled egg and I don't understand how you could make something so terrible but that was gross. If you actually lived in Japan or anywhere in Asia you would literally say that was gross. I noticed when I parked at the restaurant I was parked next to a Mercedes-Benz that had to be a $200,000 car and I have a feeling that was the owner's car maybe they should have spent less money on their car and more money on the flavor of their business because this business will not survive. The only reason this business could survive is because Fresno people have zero taste buds. This restaurant had fried rice and what did they put on top of the fried rice but furikake Nobody Does that ever anywhere that was stupid and the broth it had no flavor at all none zero the noodles had a weird taste there was some kind of artificial flavor to them that was just disgusting. If you were in Los Angeles or any other City this business would be out of business within weeks no one would ever buy this is super expensive Ramen that tastes disgusting. The bamboo that is included with this meal has no taste whatsoever it's supposed to have certain taste there is no taste. When I walked in the door I noticed a giant floral arrangement the kind that you only give at a mafia funeral it was huge massive and it was welcoming the business for opening I personally think that's a death wreath because it's not going to last. I guarantee you if you put a bunch of Japanese people at this restaurant they would literally have one bite of the food and leave I'm not kidding this is not good food and I'm sorry I spent my money and I anticipated it opening for so long. They did a great job. It was hot and packaged so that the noodles didn't get soggy. I'm new to the hipster ramen world so I didn't know what to order. I did the custom and picked flavors I knew. Tofu, thin noodles, spinach, soft boiled egg, and corn in the spicy miso. I had no idea how it would turn out. Was excited about this place opening, unfortunately due to covid haven't eaten in house yet, but have gotten takeout twice. Solid and definitely a welcome addition to this side of town. I appreciate the ability to customize the bowls. I have had the tonkatsu which was good but I wasn't a fan of the wood ear. So yesterday I got the shoyu broth, thick noodles, tofu, corn, shitake. Really good. Tonkatsu broth is still a favorite for us but the shoyu broth is up there as well. To-go packaging is done well. My ramen was okay, the shrimp was a little tough but I've had worse, the thin noodles were good along with the fish cake and scallops. Everything was great and its a perfect date spot, whether it's the first date or 100th. Great decor like Ramen bowl lights, great menu of ramens and even the ability to make your own ramen from each step on the menu. My son who has sensory processing disorder loved the chicken karaage which is a big deal since he only eats a few things in life. It's great that they are small bite size pieces I don't have to cut them in small pieces for him even though he's almost 15, he's choke hazard. As for ramen I like the broth and chashu pork . Not too crazy about the noodles because they don't taste like the authentic ramen noodles, having to grow up in japan I'm super picky about my ramen especially Tonkotsu because I'm from Kyushu island which Tonkotsu originated from. Eggs are too sweet for me but I like the softness of them. It came surprisingly fast using DoorDash. I'll definitely order the chicken karaage again. Tonkotsu ramen can definitely be improved upon. I read a previous review that was bad and that person said that the food was tasteless, I'm not sure exactly what food he was tasting, most likely it was that guys lack of taste buds. This food was definitely super tasty. I ordered Ramen (yaki ramen w/chicken) because I had a craving and instant ramen is not an option for me since my gallbladder removal (don't call me out on my S* when I review food I'm not supposed to be eating) and let me tell you this Ramen was so flavorful. I'm going to end up craving it, probably a couple times a month from here on out! My eating partner ordered fried rice with chicken and to my surprise it had edamame inside it which was perfectly cooked and had just a little bit of crunch.(not used to edamame inside my fried rice-WAY better than peas) There was a perfect amount of serving size from each plate that we could easily eat half of each other's food even though this time we didn't. The price was reasonable for the serving size which I'm happy to report because it seems these days the portion is less and the price is more. I am really pleased that I tried this place out and I definitely will be back. I suggest everyone try this place at least once, you won't be sorry! I will add that it did take about 20 minutes for the preparation of our food, which might be a little bit of time for someone in a hurry so definitely don't be in a hurry.
