I had lunch with my son at Namikaze and this place is excellent. Their spicy tuna and beef bowl are amazing! Great sushi place in the Fresno area.

We were looking for a new sushi place to try so we ended up here. when I walked in, it looked small, but then I realized there was a whole back room and a bar area. I wasn't graded as soon as I walk in but a couple minutes later someone finally said I'll be right with you .The place could be a little cleaner and some of the fixtures were broken. I will say our waitress was really nice but not super attentive. We started with spicy garlic edamame, which was OK. We got muscles and a crunchy. My favorite was the crunchy. It was really good. The sake was really bad that we couldn't even finish the bottle. I'm giving this place three stars because there's a lot of clutter insight and the food was mediocre.

Trying this place for the first time. Saturday are busy and for the looks of it they get pretty busy. I ordered on line for take out. They were going to take an hour to have it ready. But luckily they make it shorter to 10 min. We order sushi and fried rice. The sushi was called tofu lover. This is a vegan sushi. It had tofu in top and cucumbers, avocado, tofu, and asparagus. They were dipped in a sauce. They also ask you what type of sauces you like to dip them in and I got the spicy shriracha and the spicy mayo. The sushi was very delicious only that it seemed very small. I wanted more after I finished it. The fried rice was very good too. The ambiance is very familiar. I saw ladies having fun. Families enjoying their dinner and young people too. There is plenty of parking in front and around the place.

I have to admit that this is my favorite sushi restaurant among other goodies offered, it's clean, friendly and very professional. The service here is beyond average and I completely trust their recommendations when it comes to both drinks and food. With the expanded bar the accommodations are even better when it comes so larger groups, with an open floor plan and room to visit and or watch sports...something for everyone.

Brought my Hubs here for his birthday dinner and we enjoyed ourselves. The service is very friendly and quick and the rolls are very flavorful (our favorite was the Katana). Good location in the shopping center with ample parking stalls.

So pleased with my first experience here! I just picked up an order to go but will definitely be back in the future. The inside was welcoming and clean. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by staff letting us know someone would be with us shortly. The spicy chicken katsu bowl was so good, I ordered with a side of hot & spicy and it was delish. My sister had the grilled chicken bowl and really enjoyed it as well. I'm really looking forward to my next visit to check out their sushi options!

We were in the area and decided to stop in for lunch. The location is clean and nice. We were greeted by the sushi chefs when we entered so it was nice. We ordered the chicken gyozas which were soft and not crispy. The Philadelphia roll was very delicious. The EBI shrimp tempura roll was also very delicious and probably one of the best ones I have had in Fresno. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen which the broth was super flavorful and I enjoyed it but I didn't like the pork that was inside. It was very fatty and squishy and thick. I ended up taking it out and will order the beef next time. Overall we ended up paying $60 and the service was good. We will be returning to try more items out.

first time visiting and was a nice experience. waitress was nice and attentive. ordered the grilled teriyaki salmon rice bowl, modified the rice to make it fried rice, modified the bacon to make it spam. the bowl was very good , the fried rice was yummy and also added some spicy mayo with teriyaki sauce.

Tried out Namizake Sushi for lunch, and it turned out to be a great choice for the day. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they offer lunch specials, which I hadn't known about before. You can pick two items, and I chose the Crispy Spicy Chicken Rice Bowl and the Ebi Shrimp Roll. Luckily, it wasn't very busy when I arrived, though the crowd did pick up towards the end of my meal. When the food arrived, I was impressed by how delicious it looked. The portions were definitely bigger than I expected. The sushi was fresh and even better with the ginger provided. The chicken was delicious--very crispy and fresh. It wasn't very spicy, but I actually preferred it that way! Overall, it was a great experience and a fantastic lunch special. They also offer a variety of seating options, including low and high top tables, as well as a sushi bar area. Definitely worth a visit!

This is my new favorite sushi spa in town. They make really good drinks and the sushi is fresh and delicious flavor. Great side of town and the layout it fresh and bright. Staff was fast and so was the food. Service was friendly

I love popping in here and grabbing bar seats during the week! The bartenders are always so nice and quick with the orders. The pricing is reasonable for the quality and portion size. I always try atleast one new roll when I visit but of course, I have my favorites that cycle through :) We always start with spicy garlic edamame and I ask for a side of spicy mayo for dipping. We also go the muscles which are always delish. Shogun and Katana rolls this time around with an extra size of the white wassabi mayo...bomb! They serve local Fresno breweries like Crow & Wolf too! If you're looking for a great sushi spot with good vibes and full bar, Namikaze is it!

Ask the Community - Namikaze

Is this place suitable to bring an older person who is hard of hearing? Does it have LOUD music or LOUD TVs?…

Hi yes we like to think so. Our music is played at an adjustable level and we don’t use sound on our T.V.’s.

Are they actually open until 10? Can't seem to get a call answered.

Last call for food is 9:30 and bar open till 10.

Do we need to make reservations?

I have gone in at pretty busy times and never needed a reservation.

Hi! I was very curious if anyone knew if you can still order that maki roll tray and how much is it?

Yes, you can. It's $60 and you need to order a day in advance but you might be able to get it same day.

What kind of crab do you use in your rolls?

Imitation crab salad unless real crab is requested then there is an extra charge

Is Monday your all day happy hour?

All night on Monday! 3pm-close!!

Tsuchiya Ramen totally gave me Initial D, street car racing vibes w/ its actual, real-life (idk if…read moreit was intentional or not lol) car meet outside in the parking lot, Japanese decor inside and car memorabilia displayed throughout. It was quite an interesting industrial, unfinished aesthetic. Definitely nostalgic and made me miss my fixed up white Acura Integra..ala 2001. Yea..I'm a girl and yea I use to race. ;) Such a good pit stop on our family's Spring Break road trip to Yosemite. It definitely refueled us for the rest of our journey. Known for its customizable ramen bowls with flavorful broths and a wide variety of toppings, as well as, other menu items like rice bowls, bentos, and dumplings, Tsuchiya Ramen definitely lived up to it's almost 5 star Yelp reviews. The waitress was friendly and the food came out fairly quickly once our order was taken ~ less than 10 mins for sure! I ordered the spicy miso ramen ($17.99) with a sweet corn side (+$1.50) and complimentary topping of the fried garlic. The hakata (thin style noodles) were perfectly cooked, with a lil al dente bit to them. It had all the trimmings that I like ~ green onion, chashu, jammy egg, crunchy wood ear mushrooms, naruto fish cake, marinated bamboo, and nori. The broth was authentic, flavored with such depth. You can really taste the slow-cooked, miso quality in it. I loved the fried garlicky taste too! It was the right level of spice, I didn't even need to add any chili oil, like I usually do. My picky daughter opt'd for the "make your own ramen" option (starting at $12.99) ~ getting the same hakata thin noodle with tonkatsu broth, chashu (+$3.25), fried tofu (+$2.50), and freebie toppings of nori, sesame seeds & fried garlic. My son ordered the OG tonkatsu ramen w/ extra marinated bamboo (+$2) on the side. Lastly, the hubs wanted to eat lighter & healthier, so he opt'd for the teriyaki chicken rice bowl. Everyone loved their meal pick. Dare I say..I even think it ranks better than some of the ramen joints in the OC. Who knew Fresno was poppin' in the foodie dept? Lol A total RxFoodie recommend and I'd return if I'm ever in the area again!

Great tasting ramen!…read more My family and I made this place a pit-stop for dinner on a Sacramento to Los Angeles trip. Our original target was the Fresno location, but due to a GPS entry error, we ended up at their Clovis location! It was a little longer drive than usual, but still well-worth the drive. And besides, we were on a family long weekend break so who cares about distance... Our orders were quickly taken on the counter and we were off to find our table. A lot of places to choose from inside and outside seating was also available. And the place was nicely decorated and well-lit! Feels comfortable to dine inside! The menu was quite expansive. And you even have the choice of minor changes to the regular menu. I ordered an Oxtail Ramen...a first of this kind for me, so I just had to have it. And it passed with flying colors! Weird ingredient...but absolutely tasty! And at a really affordable price range! You just have to try our this place when you're in the area! You will love it!

The first time I tried the tonkotsu ramen as takeout and gave it 2 stars. The noodles were soggy from the start and the broth just didn't hit the depth of flavor I was expecting. It felt like something was missing. This time, I dined in and ordered both the spicy miso ramen and tonkotsu ramen, plus a side of chicken karaage. Eating onsite made a difference right away, the noodles held up and the overall taste of the ramen was significantly better. The spicy miso ramen was good, but I was honestly hoping for a stronger miso punch and a bit more heat. It leaned a little milder than expected, though still enjoyable. The tonkotsu this time was better balanced than my first visit. The chicken karaage was good as well. Crispy, light batter, juicy inside really solid fried chicken. I personally would've liked a squeeze of lemon and maybe some Japanese mayo on the side to elevate it even more, but that's just preference. Overall, I feel like this place redeemed itself on a second visit, especially dining in. I'll need to come back to try more of their specialty ramens.

Whether you're craving sushi, teriyaki, or ramen, they really have something for everyone. The sushi and sashimi are incredibly fresh -- honestly some of the freshest fish we've had at any sushi restaurant. It tastes like the chef went out and caught it that morning. The 14-piece sashimi platter with a couple of rolls was more than enough for two people, and everything was excellent quality. The ramen is also fantastic, but fair warning: the bowls are HUGE, so definitely come hungry. Their garlic edamame is absolutely addictive, and we really enjoyed the poke in the seaweed poke salad, though the dish does lean very heavily on the seaweed, so just keep that in mind before ordering. Food ordered: Fire Chicken Combination Plate…read more Beef Yaki Udon Pickled Radish The fire chicken plate is always delicious. My siblings crave it at least once a month! I love the Yaki Udon and usually get it spicy. All their food is always made fresh to order and with lots of love. Service: The service is great! We are always immediately seated and offered drinks within the first few minutes upon entering. Throughout the meal, we weren't checked on. I wish they would put water pitchers on the table for the customers so we wouldn't have to always ask for a water refill. Unfortunately, there have been times where my family and I have gone but it's so busy and we never got refills for waters. Ambiance: Great, cozy, warm atmosphere. They have large flat screen tvs that usually play compilation videos on them. I wish they synced the tvs up to play kdramas or kpop on them instead. Every time I've gone, the tvs are usually turned off or playing funny/meme compilations from YouTube. I think many of their customers would enjoy a Korean show while eating Korean food! Maybe even play some mukbangs, as many young people nowadays enjoy watching those! My family and I are regulars, and we will always be back to support our favorite local Korean restaurant!
