Tried this place for some quick sushi. The taste was just okay, not much flavor. A man greeted us when we came in but when a girl came to the register she didn't say anything, just a stare. I asked if there was a handheld menu. She said "no, just take a picture of it." After scrolling at food pictures, we decided on what we wanted. Unfortunately, the food took a long time to come out, which is not what I'd expect from "express". The store was warm stuffy inside and the bathroom wasn't clean. We left smelling like fried food. Walking out to 100 degree weather felt better than sitting a stuffy restaurant. read more

I was craving sushi at work and this spot was closest. It was better than I expected! Great service. I had asked for the red dragon without the tuna (sorry I'm not a fan of tuna) and he offered to put shrimp instead! I was surprised and grateful. The rolls were so tasty! We've been coming here for years and it's consistently good. The service is friendly (you order at the counter and then seat yourself), the dining room is very clean (although the ambiance is a bit industrial -- and the chairs make a lot of noise on the floor)! I usually get a chicken teriyaki bento box which includes generous portions of miso soup, teriyaki chicken over rice, four pieces of California roll and a soda. Everything was really good. The teriyaki sauce is very balanced with the amount of chicken and rice and is a little sweet but not overly so. My husband got the salmon bowl and he was really happy with it. Plenty of salmon. I'm always happy when we decide to eat here, although we love far away so it's not too often. A good bet! read more

Sashimi express is our go to place when we have large sushi platters to order for parties. We ordered a few years ago for my husband graduation party and the platters were a hit! Most recently, we ordered another party platter for my aunt as she moved into a new place, once again, it was so good! I believe it was about 8 rolls total and included 16 pieces of sashimi. The service is always great. I was able to call it in about 5 hours before pick up and it was ready when I got there. Also they have a rewards program which most sushi spots don't. Ordering this platter alone gave us a free basic roll for next time. read more

My co-workers, clients and I come here every Thursday for lunch. Super friendly atmosphere as some of our clients can't afford to buy lunch or bring their own. The staff are super accommodating and always greets us with a smile. One of them has even started remembering our names and orders! I usually get their beef bento box with California roll. It's always great and flavorful. Their miso soup is definitely one of my favorites! read more

As a disclaimer this is solely a review based off the food as I tend to order from this establishment very regularly for delivery. It is a regular in my rotation for a reason. I just don't think you can beat their large bento box. The miso you get with it is just so delicious and comforting as is the side salad. My go-to order is the teriyaki salmon , tempura shrimp (light airy batter), and tempura roll. Hands down my favorite! read more

I've had a lot of the places that serve sushi and this one is average at best. They offer nothing unique and the price seems to be a bit on the high side considering that the amount of fish served. The two rolls that I was a Pearl Dragon Roll and the other one was a roll with tuna and eel. But the problem that I have is the tuna didn't cover the roll. Most places that I enjoy they make sure the fish covers the roll. The price of the roll is base off of whether you opt for 5 or 10 pieces. So the 10 pieces is $17 and the 5 piece roll is $9. In essence you get the better deal if you order the 10 pieces. But sadly, I was not wowed and I have very high standard especially for sushi. I won't be back. read more

Poke bowl with white rice, 2 salmon 1 tuna, avocado, imitation crab, jalapeño, and red spicy mayo...amazing. I've had a lot of poke bowls around California. And for being in Clovis this one's flavors were spot on and everything was fresh. Avocado was cut right in front of me no bag. Small portion but was perfect. read more

Dragon queen roll (tempura fried ish )and Ruby delight (eel) were very tasty and had sauce. The sunshine roll and emerald roll average. The price point is good. Some more tastier than others. The issues are that many rolls don't have sauces and so plain and dry. Also biggest issue is the fish size is very thin. The overall sushi composition and technique on the amateur side. For the price maybe will come back to try other pieces. read more

Finally tried this spot after years of passing by. I love that you can get a variety of options for the bento boxes, including poke and a variety of sushi rolls. All the rolls we have tried have been very fresh and good. I love that the rolls are half the size of normal rolls so you have the ability to order more options. I do wish that you were able to just order poke on its own. Overall I do recommend and have came back multiple times already. read more

I'm highly disappointed with the customer service at Sashimi Express on Willow/Nees. Last week Thursday night we walked in at 8:03pm and were told they were closed for dining, the restaurant closes at 9pm! Last summer we placed an order for multiple sushi platters for my dad's memorial service luncheon, paid in advance (with a tip!) and checked in the day before and was assured it would be ready. Went to pick it up at the scheduled time and they had not even started making it, and there was only one customer there and workers were standing around talking. They completed the last platter 1 1/2 hours later, while taking in all walk-in customers first! Enough strikes for me! They obviously do not care about customer service! Never returning and will tell everyone I know not to as well. read more

The protein is cut up into small pieces and mixed in with the seaweed salad. In addition it is not pure seaweed as it is also mixed in with a bunch of other greens such as sprouts. So while the presentation was not what I was expecting, I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed the flavors and textures. I will definitely order this again.
