What surprised me the most about Takumi was the generous serving sizes! The portions are definitely bigger than I expected. The bacon fried rice was savory and had just the right amount of flavor. I also really enjoyed the vegetables--they weren't overcooked, and the bean sprouts were fresh and crunchy, which is exactly how I prefer them. The hot and spicy sauce was perfect when combined with the rest of the food and added a nice kick without overpowering the flavors. The raspberry tea was refreshing and not overly sweet. Overall, I really enjoyed the food, generous portions, and ambiance. The servers were also very nice, friendly, and accommodating, which made the experience even better. Great food, big servings, and good service. I will surely come back! . Just a little pricey

Thought I'd give this hibachi place a try, but was disappointed. Service was slow despite the restaurant being weirdly empty? Got their lunch hibachi special, and the rice was too salty and the meat was less flavorful in comparison - kinda odd. Not sure if their sushi is better but I'm hesitant to try again.

This is one of our favorite Sushi & Teppanyaki Restaurants in Fresno. Last night we took my husband's nephew (nine years old) to try sushi for the first time, and he did great! He tried every roll we ordered, and loved each one. Our server was so kind and very patient with him (especially when he was curious if they had a piranha roll ). Service was quick and the rolls, were delicious, as always! They revamped their menu (with a few new rolls as well as literally having new menus made). Absolutely recommend Takumi!

Food was great. Had their spicy tuna crispy rice app. First time having it. Will be having it again. Delicious Also had the harvest roll (vegetarian) and the sashimi sampler (chef's choice) Takumi always has great food. We were seated quickly and our server was great!

We came to dinner with my kids and sat on the dining side on a Friday night. We were seated right away and our drinks and food were served fast as well. Our server was really nice, chatty and gave us suggestions. She kept checking on us and gave us fantastic service. Our food was so good! My sashimi salmon just melted in my mouth and I wished I had ordered 2! The bread pudding that was recommended was soft and had a wonderful caramel taste that just had me going back for more. The place is always clean/elegant and it has a great atmosphere for a nice night out.

We dined in to celebrate a birthday. Service was friendly, check ins and water infrequent, and less so once the food dropped. I had gotten the veggie roll and spicy miso ramen. My partner ordered the sunset roll and the three amigos. Compatriot ordered the teppan salmon and the baked salmon roll. We had ordered something else at the end but that was forgotten over time. The rolls overall fall apart really easily and have much more rice than anything else. The veggie roll the veggies tasted old, The fish itself is ok, nothing to write home about but not much character on that end and the amount leaves a bit to be desired. The spicy miso ramen was bland and watered down. The amount of veggies in that miniscule. Noodles were plain egg noodles and were out of place. I think the only redeeming feature of that part was that the broth was hot which was nice. Compatriot enjoyed her salmon though which was the most important part. Marks were missed, part of the order too. The order took extremely long to come out as well, and to me this just wasn't worth waiting for.

Only go if you can't get in anywhere else for Teppanyaki, there is no flavor in the bacon fried rice also portion is small for the choice of protein, when the cook starting cooking I didn't see any seasoning added to the rice or anything else just cooked the food on the bacon grease, we paid $250 for my family to eat, waste of money so much green onions in the rice too and the spicy sauce didn't even mix in with the teriyaki sauce it tasted like mainly mayo. The server was also slow we didn't get any refills in our drinks my husband and I had empty cups with only ice. It was pretty busy with prom kids but we only waited a few minutes with a reservation. The floor was pretty slippery from the oil in the air I think, be careful you can slip my son almost did cause he thought it was funny to pretend to be Michael Jackson moon walking on slippery floors. Anyways save your money try to make it elsewhere.

The restaurant is beautiful, clean, and well-kept. All the staff were so nice and welcoming, from the hosts to our server. Everyone was super helpful, which made the experience even better! For starters, they brought us edamame, and then we ordered the UNI shooter. It was good, but that aftertaste wasn't my favorite. I completely forgot it was made with sake, and I'm not a fan of sake. Call me weird, right? Most people love pairing raw sushi with sake, but not me! LOL. Next, we got the salmon spoon, and OMG, the salmon was so fresh! I absolutely loved it, and that sauce on top was SO GOOD! I also ordered two nigiri pieces and a temaki roll. The otoro was incredibly soft and fresh; it practically melted in my mouth! The uni was also super fresh and didn't taste fishy at all, which I loved. I was really hoping to try the sweet shrimp, but unfortunately, they didn't have any that day. Lastly, we tried the uni pasta. It was just okay for me. It had a slightly fishy taste that didn't sit too well with my palate. Overall, I had a great experience! Not every dish was a personal favorite, but the service, atmosphere, and freshness of the sushi definitely stood out. I would absolutely come back whenever I'm in town again!

The Katana Roll had shrimp tempura, crab salad and avocado, topped with salmon, sliced onion, spicy mayo, sriracha, tobiko and scallions. I loved the combination of the fresh salmon with the crunch from the shrimp tempura, and the spicy mayo gave it just the right kick. The Maiko Roll was definitely the indulgent one. It's a fried California roll with cream cheese, topped with chopped shrimp tempura and spicy crab salad, then finished with teriyaki sauce. Crispy, creamy, sweet, savory and seriously filling. They definitely don't skimp on the toppings here! Everything came out looking great, the portions were generous, and both rolls hit the spot. I've found it rare to find AYCE (all you can eat) sushi on California. I didn't think Fresno was a sushi hot spot or anything. So, I came here with a couple of others that wanted to try it out. Dinner was the better option as it offers all of the traditional sushi and sashimi. We got seated just fine by the friendly host and I hear this place can get pretty crowded. Looking over then menu I notice it's more mainstream oriented, like for people who just order rolls cause that's what they think sushi is. No super exotic fish or anything or even salmon roe (Ikura). The menu lists the fish on top of rice pieces as "sushi" instead of nigiri. I'm surprised sashimi, (fish and no rice) is offered on the AYCE menu. Inside looks on the upscale side, so this is more of a "nice" place to go like on a date or something. We all went for the AYCE dinner for around $40 per person. That's about the going price for AYCE sushi these days. I started with the expensive stuff, like the sashimi and nigiri fish. I just got one roll. We were all sharing all the stuff we ordered. Sushi is supposed to be like that, a shared experience. The tempura fried shrimp was pretty good as were the rolls the other guys ordered. The fish quality was decent as was the service. We all stuffed ourselves as much as we could. I would recommend this place if you want to experience sushi and just pay one price and eat all you want. For the money, it's a decent deal.
