Very casual dining perfect for families. I enjoy coming in the winter for a hot bowl of Ramen. The food is always consistent and a good value for what you get. I ordered the ramen, karaage and takoyaki. You order at the counter and food is taken to your table.

Got a take out order from here for the very first time, and overall, I was content. Plusses: The extra thin noodles order was surprisingly plentiful, and good texture. The extra veggie broth was by far the best I have tasted, with a little tang. I enjoyed dropping some of my noodles there too. The fried rice was hot and tasty, and a good portion as well. Prices were reasonable, and ingredients matched descriptions. The notes I do have: one is definitely the tofu. I have enjoyed tofu for years, in many different forms, but the tofu I had was a bit of a let down. Each piece was deflated inside each bite...like unfortunately, they each lost their texture and potential oomph. Just not fresh and vibrant tasting- the appearance was beautiful though. The veggie rolls were also not quite up to par- just not hot and fresh tasting. All that being said, I will definitely return and order the items that rocked, but I certainly hope to have a better experience, especially tofu-wise.

I wanted to try their Spicy Miso Ramen because it has thin noodles and also I love Takoyaki. The place is pretty spacious. They have lots of seating. You order at the cashier first. Their menu has a pretty big selection and I like how their ramen has descriptions of what they have and what kind of noodles. They gave me a buzzer and told me it would take 10 mins for my order to come out. They even offered me a tall water glass. They have fountain drinks with the touch screen. It took a bit for my food to come out. They have spices and condiments on the table. They served my ramen out first on a nice tray and bowl with spoon and fork. The employee offered me chopsticks. But I was curious about my Takoyaki, he said it was still being cooked so he checked on that. I understand it's deep fried so it takes more time but wish it came out first for an appetizer. Then he came back with it. I ended up just eating the Takoyaki more than the ramen. The ramen broth was good. But the Takoyaki was amazing. It was fresh and very tasty. Overall I think ramen was good but I definitely will try their other soups.

We really love coming to this spot for Ramen. We always order tonkatsu Ramen and it never disappoints. Their jammy egg is also really good. The staff are very friendly and nice.

I feel that the flavor of this ramen restaurant is actually very good. Even though it uses an order first and pick up at the counter by number system, the staff still kindly bring the food to your table. The prices are very reasonable, and both the dining area and the kitchen are very clean. There are also outdoor tables and seating available. Went here with my daughter for father daughter dance we went as mimes and the staff allowed us to mess around in the restaurant for a bit after we ate, food was delicious, and the place is clean and courteous to customers also an incredible amount of ramen for the price you pay!

I have the Lins Restaurants app and received the "we miss you" offer of $30 off a $50 order. Unfortunately, it didn't work when we ordered and the app was glitchy. The employee was very patient and tried his best to help. He asked the manager and they couldn't figure it out. They ended up offering the garlic edamame on the house. $7 instead of $30... Our ramen was nice and cozy for the winter weeknight. It's a big portion and I had leftovers. It was 2 meals for me. The jammy egg is the star of the bowl! I'm glad they offer chili oil and condiments to adjust the heat and flavor.

OMG their chicken ramen (shio ramen) is the best in the menu if you do not want to customize something for you. We have tried this place multiple times already including to-go orders. The interior is very clean, even though it's a self ordering place, but I noticed how they clean each table after customers finished and left their place.

We have dined here in the past, and I normally order via delivery. On this occasion, my significant other offered to pick up, so I requested Hokkaido Ramen (without shiitake mushrooms, with an added soft boiled egg), extra ramen noodles, and Spam Masubi for take out. Went to Ramen Hayashi on a weekend evening and had a great experience! This is the first ramen spot I've been to that felt more like a casual fast-food style place than a sit-down restaurant. You order at the counter, choose from preset bowls or customize your own, and the food comes out within minutes. I tried the Spicy Miso Ramen, which I'd rate 4/5. It was good overall and definitely satisfied my craving, but it didn't quite stand out as a go-to ramen destination. For $17, I thought the chashu portion could have been more generous, and the broth wasn't as thick or creamy as I expected. That said, it's still a solid option if you're looking for quick, tasty ramen without a long wait.

Ramen Hayashi is well known for their beautiful presented and flavorful ramen bowls. But today i just need a quick grab and order their charshu rice bowls only. CHARSHU - RICE BOWLS (DONBURI) : I'm a bit dissapointed that their fried rice doesn't have that much flavors. It's slightly sweet and salty. The rice are nicely puffy and formed. The veggies are a bit hard. The charshu is good as I expected. There's a nice crispe on the outside layer. The inside is still soft. It's slighty sweet and salty. The portion size for to-go is a bit small for $12 dollar. The bowl size is small and the rice was not filled all the way to the top. RATE : 2/5 SERVICE : Did a order take out today. They were aiming for 10 to 15 min long but they took longer than the expected time. Friendly service. RATE : 4/5 AMBIANCE : Ambiance is always packed and loud in there. There's limited seating and parking due to how busy they are there. They do have some out door seatings. I wouldn't recommend a partY of 7 and above. They have variety of different chairs and table size so the tables wouldn't connect nicely.

Probably the most authentic ramen in the Fresno area; certainly the best I've tried out of the limited options in Fresno. Food comes out fast and it's not too crowded on a Sunday afternoon. Only docked 1 star because it's over 100 degrees outside and the temperature inside is about 80 degrees, so this reviewer is sweating while eating hot ramen. They'd get 5 stars if they would turn up their ac. Casual ambiance, very clean and comfy for an order at the counter restaurant. read more

The food was good. We had the loaded gyoza and a custom ramen. Both came out quickly and the restaurant was well kept and clean. Flavor-wise we're losing a star because the ramen was a little bland. The spicy miso wasn't that spicy and the steak we got was a little plain. Also, the thick noodles are not actually that thick. All together, the flavors were good and the gyoza was great. If we hadn't got the gyoza, I would probably rate more like 3 stars. Good ramen, but not phenomenal ramen read more

This was a very good experience, when I walked in all of the employees were kind and respectful, and the made our food very quickly. The food was nice and hot and it tasted very good. I am torn between 4 and 5 stars so I went ahead and gave 5 because of the consistency of their dishes. Shoyuramen and Yakimeshi are what we typically order. They are very tasty and is served generously. My daughter often requests a bottle of Ramune soda (you know the one where you pop the marble inside) and this is one of the few local places that keeps it in stock. I've also had their fluffy Japanese cheesecake, highly recommended. I also recommend to get take out so that you can pick up your food and go. This place is consistently busy, so wait time in the dining room is on the longer side of the spectrum. Friendly staff at the counter! read more

In a previous review dated 2-10-23 a customer by the name of Jennifer S. wrote the following, "BEST GLUTEN FREE IN FRESNO/CLOVIS!!! I love this place for their transparency and wide menu selection for my gluten free people. All GF menu items are marked. They have amazing flavor in their food too. Awesome place to go with friends or for takeout." Two days later business manager, Mandy B. responded, "Thank you very much Jennifer for your 5 star rating. We truly appreciate that you enjoyed some of our gluten free dishes. Looking forward to seeing you soon." It was the review above that influenced my decision to eat at Ramen Hayashi. I have celiac disease and eating food that is gluten-free is an absolute must. My coworkers and I had an idea of what we wanted to eat based on the online menu. I was interested in the following gluten-free fried items: 1. Cheesy Corn Croquette (gluten-free available on request per menu) and 2) Chicken Karage (is listed as gluten-free on the menu). I asked the woman at the register before ordering the above items if the restaurant used a dedicated gluten-free fryer to avoid cross contamination. She said, "No we do not. We fry everything in one fryer." Therefore, all fried "gluten-free" fried items are NOT gluten-free and are cross contaminated with gluten containing foods. The next menu item I was interested in was Yaki Ramen (is listed as gluten-free on the menu). I was told by the woman at the register that the restaurant uses gluten-free noodles upon request. I asked if the gluten-free noodles were boiled in a dedicated gluten free pot to avoid cross contamination with the other noodles that contained gluten she said, "No, we cook all of our noodles using the same pot and water - even the gluten-free noodles." Therefore, "gluten-free" noodles are NOT gluten-free and are cross contaminated with gluten containing foods. In truth, the restaurant advertises gluten-free when the restaurant knows for a fact they are intentionally taking gluten-free foods and contaminating them with gluten. Every item that is listed, "gluten-free" is NOT gluten-free because they knowingly cross contaminate non-gluten foods with foods containing gluten. I see absolutely NO transparency and feel absolutely awful for the customers who trusted that they were eating (for example) gluten-free noodles when those gluten-free noodles are boiled in gluten filled water. Based on the above information, I made the choice not to order because I did not feel safe eating here. However, I was with two coworkers who did order and we took the order (and two drinks) back to the office that is close by. One ordered the #8 Donburi Rice Bowl (Chicken Teriyaki) and the other was the #10 Yaki Ramen Chicken. They then ordered a #6 Chicken Fried Rice to split. The #8 was really oily for my friends liking but it was decent. The #10 was far too greasy and garlicky - bordering on the line of inedible. Since garlic was not listed in the description, she can only assume that the garlic came from one or both of the sauces that were included. The #6 was disgusting and absolutely inedible. It was supposed to be chicken fried rice but the massive amount of egg throughout tasted like shrimp in the worst way possible. Surrounding coworkers made negative comments of the fishy smell as well. The rice was clearly cross contaminated and was immediately discarded. Lastly, the cups for the sodas were made of paper and were leaking by the time we got back to the office. The meal for the two of them was over $40. This experience was not worth the price. It is a real shame. My coworkers and I really wanted to like this restaurant. Plus, I was really excited to find a "gluten-free" option for me but left angry because of the false advertising and the harm I would have suffered had I trusted the restaurant and eaten their food. read more

Been a while since I last reviewed any restaurant.. but I had a strong craving for ramen today, so I had to find this place.. no lie, I have been tempted by this place for quite some time now.. Expectation vs reality here we go.. Location is a tad hidden from Main Street but not difficult to find.. walking in u will be greeted in some foreign form or language I don't understand.. I was also confused right after being greeted, should I seat myself or is it cafeteria style dining? The girl who greeted us sure didn't help at all with the confusion, please train them better at hosting diners... Moving on.. after figuring out it was indeed cafeteria style dining, I was trying to order the build your own ramen, so I kept looking up at the menu.. only after an awkward minute or 2 do the girl taking my order tell me there was a menu right in front of the register(Oh my god).. honestly this girl seem so nonchalant it made the excitement in me die down quickly lol.. On to the real deal, which obviously is the food.. I ordered the build ur own ramen.. the broth is flavorful, toppings was very fresh.. texture of the noodle was great.. everything had a great texture overall.. the soft boiled egg was a little bit more sweeter than I would prefer, that's just my personal preference tho..I also had the steam bun with Cha-su, nikuman I believe was the name.. it was just average tasting but the Cha-su was prepared really well, super tender and delicious.. I wanted to give this place a higher review but the setup and employee needs a bit more training.. perhaps looking more alive and attentive to their role.. and the ramen was great but didn't blow my mind like I was hoping.. I was prepared for the worst to be honest. Not because I heard bad things, but because we tried another noodle place about 5+ years ago, and my wife left unimpressed. But surprise, surprise, this was her suggestion. I took a quick look at the photos and thought, my kids aren't going to like it. Especially my very picky 6 year old who will look at a dish and say, "I don't like it." So what did I do, I bought a rice bowl in anticipation of his antics. My older, more seasoned and cultured kids, were excited. My son ordered #1 because it had seaweed.....no other reason. My daughter ordered #5, not sure why honestly. I ordered the chicken rice bowl with spicy bulgogi, and my wife got the #10. We didn't know this, but only 1-5 are soup. #7 is more of a wet plate. The noodles stay kind of crunchy because the "gravy" they pour over it kind of cooks the noodles, but not completely. #10 is basically a noodle plate, and took the longest to be served, which really irritated my wife. She ordered hers work pork cha-su, which is fried pork belly. She doesn't like pork really, so of course, she didn't end up eating it. My daughter was more than happy to take it off her hands. Or rather, out of her plate. My wife said next time she's getting it with vegetables since it's easier on her stomach. But everyone liked someone else's food more than their own. My picky son said he didn't want the rice bowl, because why would he not be picky in this moment either? Instead he split the #1 with his brother. And loved it. Even ate the bamboo, which completely baffled us. My spicy bulgogi wasn't spicy in my opinion. I think if someone is EXTRA sensitive to spice, they MIGHT have a problem with it halfway through their bowl. I don't like spice, and I started to notice it halfway through, but it was by no means a deterrent. Medium salsa is spicier. The seating of the restaurant is large enough for the traffic it gets, but I would keep groups down to under 6. My kids had wanted to sit outside but it was on the cold side. Weather permitting, we'll do it next time. All in all, it was a surprisingly good meal for everyone. That doesn't happen often for us. We will definitely be back now that we are in the area and exploring the new restaurants read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Fresno!! I always get the tonkotsu ramen which is delicious! But I recently just tried their pork fried rice for the first time and omg... i LOVED it. Where do I start... This is my new favorite place to get ramen! The person taking the orders is very helpful and eager to explain if you don't know what something in the menu is, which is helpful if is your first time here. After placing the order, it doesn't take long for the food to come to the table. I've tried the veggie rolls, the ramen (vegan) from the build your own option, and spicy edamame. Everything is good and well served, the ramen bowl can feed two average people (the bowl is big!). Besides the food, the place is clean and well kept. I've never had Ramen before except top Ramen as a kid LOL. I usually try to find a good Pho place but I decided to try Ramen Hayashi. I customized my Ramen with tofu and spicy miso. Now I don't have anything to compare it to since it was my first time but let's just say I ordered this two days in a row! It was soo good. The flavor was perfect with just the right amount of spice. I also ordered the chicken eggrolls which were very flavorful with a nice crunch and an amazing sauce to go with it. I'm pretty sure it was just a sweet-and-sour sauce but something about it was the best I've ever had.It kind of had a sweet and very light spicy taste. Next time I would like to try dine in. No other words to describe this place but AHHMAZINGGGG!!! I've never really been a ramen girl because I always stick with my roots of being a pho girl but I swear this one bowl has changed my perspective forever! Came in and ordered at the counter, once we finished we took a table number and chose our own table to sit down at. Service was great as they had both outdoor and indoor open for service (with capacity precaution). Tonkotsu Ramen: Has the most amazing rich, creamy, and savory pork broth. This place is okay. It is neat looking when you come in. It was our first time there and they were pretty busy. We ordered a Nikuman, Tonkatsu ramen, and the teriyaki chicken. The appetizer was pretty good but gosh, it was so poorly served. It came in a silver container with holes on the bottom, where oil leaked everywhere on our table from the appetizer. It was so messy. The ramen was okay, I felt like the pork was a bit tough and the flavor was bland. Sadly, hours later our stomachs hurt so much. It wasn't a good experience and we probably won't be back. read more

I liked the pancetta/porcino in the carbonara; it was crunchy, but I wish they added the drippings into the sauce for extra depth. Probably needed more parm reg in the sauce also. The pizza toppings were good. Something about the crust just didn't hit. I can't quite put my finger on it. Not sure if I'll come back. If I so, I'd try a NY slice. Saw a table next by order it and it looked bomb.

It was a little dark for our taste at first, but we were able to open the blinds. If you enjoy cozy, dim dinner ambiance, this is definitely your kind of place. The menu uses Italian names for many of the dishes, so I wasn't immediately sure what everything was, but once we figured it out, everything we ordered was delicious. The angel hair pasta was simple but absolutely perfect. We also had cheesecake for dessert, and it was fantastic. I also appreciated that they had a kid's menu, plus mini pizza options for kids. My five-year-old only made it through a couple slices because the portions were generous. Definitely come hungry, and don't be surprised if you leave with a doggy bag because the portions are big. Highly recommend!

I was really craving a rice bowl and Ramen Hayashi did not disappoint. The bowl came out hot and was very tasty. I like that the rice bowls are customizable and they have a variety of options. The staff was great and the atmosphere was quite nice as they had onion and outdoor seating. Overall, I recommend trying this place for sure will come back to try other food on the menu. read more

Although this place is no where near the same as most of the places I travel to, it is nice to be able to have relatively good ramen back home.
