This is my go to local ramen spot! Their weekday lunch special (with tip comes to about $27) includes a ginger salad, choice of appetizer and ramen. My favorite combo are their: Chive cakes (comes in 4) - perfectly crisp on the outside and flavorful and moist on the inside Tonkatsu non-spicy ramen (curvy noodle) - rich and flavorful sweet broth with a perfect ratio of fat and lean meat pork. The size is generous, so I normally can't finish the noodles. Service is quick and attentive with water refills. This place fills up quickly so best to come early! IG: Jubes111 Youtube: Jujubi Fam

Ramen Goku is a decent spot for ramen - not the best, but decent. I ordered a glass of wine to start and she forgot to bring it out until I asked. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Miso ramen ($19) and it came with a lot of chicken! I like that they don't charge you extra for it being spicy either. The chicken wings ($12) were a bit of a letdown since they weren't that crispy and the gyoza ($10) were just okay. Overall, Ramen Goku satisfies your craving for ramen in the area.

Préfère ramen nights. Creamy and rich. Amazingly delicious ans generous portion. Service was timely. Average patron traffic. Decent space. I'd pop in again.

2 Kakuni Pork Buns - a bit pricy for me but good!

***I've only got uber eats pick up from here so I haven't had the experience of actually dining in*** However, even just the uber eats pick up is worth all the stars, I can only IMAGINE how much better the ramen would be fresh dining in! I've gotten the spicy tonkotsu here twice and the pork buns! Usually I'm not a fan of takeout ramen because the noodles get stuck together since it's usually separated from the soup but I've been sick and really craving ramen. Even with it being takeout I'm STUNNED by how DELICIOUS this ramen is. I don't know if it's the noodles or broth or both but I've never been so impressed with a takeout ramen in my life. The broth is so rich and fatty with the perfect amnt of spicyness (if you order the spicy kind). I always order straight noodles and it's the perfect texture and holds the broth amazingly. Don't even get me started on the EGG they add in there it doesn't even make sense how good it is. The pork buns are super good, but a bit pricy IMO for 2. I've only interacted with the restaurant when picking up my order, but the service is amazing and the staff is so sweet!!! This is definitely my go to ramen place in the Murray hill / kips Bay Area.

Came here for a quick and late night ramen and I must say it was hands down delicious. We got our food in less than 20 min and didn't feel rushed even after we came 20 min before closing. Check this place out for a cozy ambiance and a quick delicious bite.

Yet another ramen place run by Chinese people (nothing against Chinese-run businesses, but since this is Japanese food, thought I'd mention this). The ramen looks good in pictures, but the taste was generic. Only went here coz it's close to work.

Overall rating: 4.9 Price: $24.11 w/ tip ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. My one critique is I wish the music was slightly lower and more with the vibe of the restaurant. This is the first place I felt like a restaurant really catered to the solos. I didn't feel rushed and the staff was so friendly. It was pretty bright so I also wish it was slightly dimmer. The ramen was so delicious!! The drink I wanted was out of stock, so I stayed with water. I definitely will be coming back again! So happy a friend recommended this place!

Shrimp Katsu Curry

I was in need of some hearty comfort food especially on a cloudy and rainy day in NYC. This location caught my attention with their bright red Ramen Goku neon sign at the front entrance. It offers Japanese dishes and one or two Goku themed dishes. The chicken dumplings were pan fried and bite size appetizers to enjoy before the main dish. I ordered the Shrimp Katsu Curry, this was exactly what I needed with crispy shrimps that filled me up and curry that was right level of creamy and thick sauce to pair with the rice. The curry was more potatoes over carrots ratio but still a delicious curry with big shrimp katsu. The music selection was mostly Japanese music which I absolutely enjoyed! My only issue was that the server who brought my dish didn't bring a spoon. So I asked for one and I could clearly hear the clash of silverware to get just a spoon. It was a bit unprofessional and loud especially when the space was calm and chill with music playing in the background. I would recommend coming here for some filling appetizers, classic ramen or curry, and overall good time by yourself or with friends

Chicken Karaage ($10)

As you step inside the ramen restaurant, you're greeted by a warm, savory aroma. The restaurant, with its Goku theme, was filled with anime posters and traditional Japanese banners, adding a fun, nostalgic atmosphere. We started with a plate of chicken karaage--about 6 to 8 crispy, golden pieces for $10--served with a creamy, spicy mayo. The karaage was perfectly fried--crunchy on the outside and juicy inside. For the main dishes, we ordered the Tonkotsu ramen (mild, $19), Shoyu ramen ($19), Ebi curry udon ($22), and Shrimp ramen ($22). The Ebi curry udon was especially delicious; I loved dipping the crispy shrimp tempura into the rich, savory curry before slurping the thick, chewy udon noodles. Each ramen had its own unique, flavorful broth, but the Tonkotsu was my favorite--rich, creamy, and comforting. We also enjoyed hot tea alongside our meal. Service was excellent--our waitress was friendly and attentive.

Great ramen in the midtown south area. Broth was very flavorful (get the spicy!) and the pork was one of the best seasoned I've had in a ramen. The appetizers were honestly really tasty as well. Thankfully we got in at around 6:30pm to no wait, because it was PACKED by the time we left

chicken teriyaki

Ramen Goku's chicken teriyaki is perfection--tender, flavorful, and irresistibly savory!

Tonkatsu ramen (spicy)

My husband and I come here every so often and always have an amazing experience. The staff is all wonderful and the food even better. We get the chicken mini dumplings, which are honestly my favorite dumplings in the city, and the tonkatsu ramen. The music and the atmosphere are also lovely - I always love all the Spirited Away and Dragonball Z paraphernalia.

Janet C.

Small and cozy, with several small and medium sized tables. I tried the Spicy Tonkotsu which was decent. Service was quick and the staff was attentive. They do seem to have a time limit but as one member of our group was running late so we needed to order later, they were accommodating since there were still some empty tables. The ramen was not bad but also nothing to write home about. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to come back but it was a nice place to catch up with friends at and enjoy a meal.

I've been to the Ichiran in East Williamsburg but found this location to be more hectic and touristy, naturally. You order on a tablet, pay (no tip), and then are directed to a seat by a welcoming host. Poor guy must have to repeat the same spiel a billion times a day. I just defaulted to Ichiran's suggested levels for everything which made it fast and easy. Once you're at your assigned cubbyhole, you can hang your coat up on the wall behind you and fill up your water cup at the machine also behind you. You don't even see the face of the person who brings out the ramen which gives the whole process a mysterious bank teller vibe. With all this, the classic tonkotsu ramen ($23) with slender noodles nearly gets overshadowed, but don't fret since it's fantastic. I believe when you're done, you just get up and leave. Surprisingly, one of the instructional posters does not go into this.

I came in with a party of 2 on a Thursday at 1pm. There was a line but the line went by quick. When you walk into the restaurant, you pre-order at the touchscreen to the right of the entrance and later when you're seated you give the order receipts to the server at your window. The food at this location is obviously going to be pricier than it is in Japan (came out to around $60 for 2 people), but it is SO worth it as you can't get Ichiran anywhere else besides in Japan.

I have a shrimp allergy and politely asked if the shrimp tempura could be substituted. The server immediately said no, without offering any alternative or showing much concern. He said I can remove it myself. I said so let the shrimp inside the bowl for me to remove? WTH. For a restaurant, especially one serving customizable ramen dishes, with a allergy list post on the wall by the counter where I sat at B1, a little flexibility or empathy toward food allergies would go a long way. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which made the overall dining experience uncomfortable. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and sadly this visit fell short. The smashed cucumber was good. Spicy dumpling was good. Ramen broth was light, not as rich or flavorful as others. There are so many good ramen places in NYC, this Chinese Ramen place has lot of room to improve.

First of all, I LOVE the ambience and the paper lantern decor here. Took me right back to those neon streets. The staff are polite and patient; one of them even picked up my phone for me after I dropped it mid-meal. During my trip, I was converted to a soba-lover, and while I don't think this is true soba here, they have "abura soba", what they describe as a "soupless ramen" (with a thicker noodle) which I was drawn to. I got the basic one with chashu, and my, it was DELICIOUS! I was so entranced I caught myself wanting to slightly bow with an "Arigatougozaimasu" and a "Gochisousama desu" on the way out! The noodles and the saucy base were DELICIOUS. My friend found it a bit oily, but I love thicker, richer ramen bases so I savored it.
